Some languages don't have a different word for knitting and crochet. Aside from japanese, I know korean is the same and spanish too. In spanish we just say "tejer" which can be translated to "weave" or "knit" and to differentiate them we just say "with needles" or "with hook".
Thanks for sharing your haul! they are beautiful yarns. Maybe one day I can get some noro yarn but it's rather expensive 😅
I love the Mona yarns too. They work up very soft. I got some of the Yuzawaya bulk Noro yarns as well. I found that they feel better once they have been worked, but my favorite of theirs is “Aya Tsumugi.” It’s thick and, while the main color palette is neutral, it has a lot of other colors inside it as well. I like that it is visually interesting and a little unpredictable.

I've never used either of those brands - I do have some YarnArt cotton or cotton/acrylic cakes, but haven't used them yet. Flowers and Flowers Moonlight are the styles.
Polyamide is actually the generic term for nylon, I've heard. Nylon, I guess, is a brand name (kind of like saying Xeroxing vs. copying or photocopying...).
From what I've seen on UA-cam, people in different parts of the world consider crochet to just be a type of knitting rather than a completely different craft.
I was just wondering about the timing on that mailing -- I'll let Julie know it's going out this week so we can start looking for it in the next week or two. I can't wait to see what we got!

Thank you! My hubby noticed it before I did. Yeah, I got a bit behind. I’m so sorry. I always just figured polyamide was just a type of polyester. I never bothered to look it up, so thanks for that info! 👍🏼 I did notice that a lot of the places I go outside of US it’s lumped into “knitting” in many places. 😊❤️
