Now That's what I call " A Day In Paradise " Tree Roots and All. Very Inspiring for Me, Knowing I Can't play in the Dirt for 2 more months. Thank You Jenny !!!!!❤😊
Love this video. It is an example of how perseverance, hard work, make for generous gardens. I appreciate you letting us hang out with you. Slugs and snails are my greatest pests in my garden. Wish I had a hedgehog to take care of them.
You garden just like I used to, when I had my house and big perennial beds. And like you, I am a visual person and had to place the plants and stand back. This brings me back! And we don’t mind the background noise. Your hubby is working hard on the patio area :) the results will be spectacular.
I love this video. I like watching the piddling. This is exactly how it goes for me in my garden. It's nice to see that this is how it goes for you too. Keep up the great videos!
I LOVE everything about this video. I was so great to see how you go about planting and moving stuff (roots and all). I found it super satisfying!! This might be my all time favorite video that you've posted ( and I've seen all of them ). I can't say enough good things about it. Thank you soooo much!!!
Great video !! I am such a visual person too. So it was great to see how you worked in the garden. From moving plants , divide them , getting rid of some. And the best part your process on adding new plants to the garden. I also love seeing Jerry working on the patio. Can’t wait to see the finish space.
Love it, love it, love it! You're right about therapy. People laugh at me, but it is therapy. Don't want another cold night tonight. Hope it doesn't get to freezing. Be well!
I’m always so envious of other gardeners (like sweet Laura of Garden Answer) when they start digging to plant and it goes sooo easy in that soft dirt. Glad to see it’s not just me that sometimes has a fight on my hands with this southern dirt and tree roots! I’m so happy for you and Jerry on all the progress with the hardscape in the patio area. It will be a glorious venue for evening quiet time. I really enjoyed this piddling video. We piddle here in Georgia too!
I have many areas that are shaded, and bare. I watch your videos regarding shade loving plants, then go on a hunt and purchase them. I don't know if anyone else does this, but my new plants sit on the driveway for several days while I think about the placement.
My sister in law cleaned out the bed in front of my front porch and we are putting in 7 hostas and 7 heuchers. Enjoyed watching you this Memorial Day weekend.
this was a great video as it shows us that when you garden you face the same garden issues that we do, roots, rocks, improperly placed plants and just wanting to be quiet and work.
Hi ya from New Zealand, we going into out winter now, its so cool watching you and the young ones all working to gether in the garden. I on the other hand say to my grand kids can ya give us a hand out the back in the garden for a second, they tuck tail and run for the hills.
I'm so glad you showed reality. It's tiring, sometimes difficult to decide on your design plan, weeding, then planting but in the end so worth it when it looks so beautiful. It's why we do it.
What a satisfying and productive day in the garden. Like you said, it must be nice to be surrounded by plants and not have to answer nursery and garden center questions.
Really enjoyed this. I like watching you work more than talking.😊😆. Wish I lived closer to you.so I could visit your nursery. I love your patio. Jerry is greatly talented. God bless you and your family.
I absolutely love watching this process; the planting, piddling, weeding and decision making. 💚 If I can’t be outside doing this in my own yard; I’ll watch you do yours! 🙌 Great video!
LOVE this video! Your revitalized bed will be amazing. Lots of work but worth it. Your patio looks amazing! Kudos to Jerry and his hard work on that. And I have to say, Jackson learned more in helping you put the arbor together than any of his classmates learned this weekend, or that's my guess. Keep up the good parenting Jenny! Those skills will carry him through life. I only wish my knees worked as well as yours do. Watching you jump on a shovel brings back memories. Useful tip (?) I use a serrated (bread) knife when dividing plants, especially caladiums. Works like a charm. Thanks again Jenny, for allowing us to watch the process. ❤
I just love watching you at work and listening to you. You have a very calming way about you, and you make me look forward even more to working in my own gardens. I live in upstate New York, which is a zone 5b, so it will be a few more weeks before I can do too much. Until then, I’ll just garden vicariously through you! Thanks for sharing-I can’t wait to see how the garden turns out.
Glad to hear you day dinner was in the oven already. Just planted hostas last year for the first time. I was surprised how much bigger they were when they popped up this spring. I can only have them in the backyard behind the fence as deer would devour them out front where they could get to them. Thanks for all your tips.
The patio looks amazing. The side garden is coming along. I call it piddling in my garden. Did that yesterday. Satisfying when you look back at what you have accomplished.
This has been one of my favorites. Just watching you piddling around in your flower bed . I love everything you had going on and your calm Sunday !! Blessings for your next week !!
Jenny's sweet voice as she describes slugs' intestines erupting after eating the bait...and then they die. 😂🤣 I transplanted a rhubarb today. I didn't know about the massive roots, they were as big as carrots. Made it easy to distinguish the weeds firmly embedded among the twisted rhubarb roots. I put lots of compost in the hole and Bio-tone, of course. I'm already thinking of recipes. I caught a whiff when I broke off a stem. There's something satisfying about pulling weeds...while they're small. I love your DITL videos.
My friend. You just really need to remember the proven winner’s auger. You made me so tired. 😀. Things are really looking great. Glad to know that slugs are what are making holes in my hostas. Going after bait. Thanks. Patio is looking wonderful, can’t wait to see things planted.
So glad I found you. I like Laura at Garden Answers and Linda Vater and Planterina... You also cover the things I like and need to know - in a fun way Thank you.
Such good information on how to divide a hosta I’m glad I saw that and I’m glad you said something about the color of the leaves the lighter color goes more sun the darker color goes into the shade more headaches that’s good sense thank you very much
Hosta bed Looks Great. Thank you for keeping us updated on your back patio progress; just loving that feeling of accomplishment . . .your sooo close to a BBQ celebration! Best wishes to you and yours :) P.S. If I knew how to add emoji happiness I would insert "Here."
It’s so gratifying when you have a productive day like this. It’s looking beautiful. Your patio is amazing.....it really is a show stopper. I can’t wait for you and the family to enjoy it.
Love love love seeing your beautiful family working together, Jenny! So glad you demonstrated how to apply the snail bait. Everything is so lovely❣️ Linda, Houston, Tx.
Everything is looking gorgeous Jenny! Looking forward to a great gardening season ahead of us...and all the beautiful containers and some new plants you will be planting in the garden as well. Ps. Those beautiful elephant ears, etc.......still recall from last year flower bed! 💚🪴
I enjoyed seeing the process. Your flower bed looks great. It's all coming together. The patio is beautiful. I see many gatherings around the fire pit making s'mores.
Thanks for sharing the project! I am so excited to spend some time over the next three days working in my garden. Moving some perennials around, expanding some space, working on sprinklers and drip 💗
Thank you for taking us on your piddlin' Sunday afternoon. And don't worry about not being too chatty. Christine did a fabulous editing job, especially with the music. 👏👏👏 I really enjoyed the selection while you were weeding. So funny to see you moving so fast with that relaxing piano music. Jackson has almost learned to "just say no" to crack, but he's not quite there yet! 🌙 🤣🤣🤣
Hi Jenny, every year I would swear there was a new weed. Last year was this vine-like weed that actually bloomed. The winter was not cold enough to kill it. Will be dealing with that and all the normal weeds. Love watch you today. I to will be dividing & moving hostas to get ready for the lemon coal sedum. Just a little at a time to get thing put together.
Absolutely loved this video! I don't know why i enjoy watching someone else do gardening tasks right after i come back inside from doing my own - it's so satisfying. And you explain everything so well! Maybe I'll feel up to dividing some hostas now 😊 Anyway, more garden task vlogs please... Loved it! 💕
Love seeing your forest pansy redbud and it’s canopy. Thankful we got one for our garden. Thank you so much for helping us today. Really enjoyed meeting you and Jerry. Will send pics. Linda
Love watching your channel Jenny!!!! You garden so much like me..."ok, where's my shovel... " and I do the same thing when I hit a root... "whew...glad that was a root!" ... I always wonder what my neighbors think when I walk around looking for tools I was using!😃 Your garden and home are beautiful!!! I garden in Richmond Virginia.
So happy to see this video. I have been working in my shade garden and splitting hosta. I have one small spot I am still trying to figure out what I want to do. Always a work in progress for me.

I, too, enjoy a quiet slow day of piddling ... and piddling with hostas is an awesome activity (they are one of my favs) ... getting those little things done really add up and make me feel so much better !!!! Also good to see you have a doo-hicky (or is it a doo-lolly) in your hair - hahaha !!!!

Oh Jenny love watching you plant and listening to your train of thought, I do the same out loud and by myself : ) Hey, I noticed a round indentation in your jeans pocket, almost looks like a skoal can or a tape measure, care to share what it might be from? Nah, don't. I just enjoy watching you at work, a kindred spirit. Thanks for putting in these videos on your "days off."
I love gardening with you ! We have just dipped in5o the 20s for 2 nites. Hope that is over. Things were finally just getting pretty. We were covering plants in sleet.i hope we are on the upward swing here in central IL.annuals will not be till middle of may for us. So ill enjoy watching u plant annuals. On my bucket LIST. COME TO CREEKSIDE GARDEN CENTER TO SEE YOU ALL.
Jenny, your patio is looking amazing! I can just see the urns spilling over with beautiful plantings! The bed looks so nice now that you’ve got it spruced up - too bad the area isn’t sunny enough for a Sunshine Ligustrum too! And those hostas were HUGE! But your hair does the same thing mine does when I get outside! Lol PS the Lady Gardener x 2 are coming to my house in a few weeks for my new patio Rose garden trellis too! Loved the video!!

Love that you showed the whole process...including your thought process..standing back and thinking about it...you worked hard! ☺
Yes 👍
So endearing she said excuse me to the fern. 😂 I do that all the time walking between my plants so it’s good to know I’m not crazy.
And I always apologize to any worms I accidently cut , lol
You sure you’re not Canadian? We say sorry to everyone and everything! Lol

What a beautiful transformation💚💚💚🦎🦎🦎🌱🌱🌱🌼🌼🌼🌱🌱🌱🌿🌿
Something so satisfying hearing the roots pop and the hosta being removed.
Wow, everything is looking amazing!
Thank you! Spring in the South is hard to beat (although Spring anywhere is hard to beat!)

I kept seeing a mini Jerry in Jackson.

The auger is great but sometimes it’s nice to work out life’s frustrations with an ol’ timey shovel 😊
Thank you for sharing your day with us...I love all you do and learning from you and your husband...Your patio and yard are just Beautiful!❤
OMGOSH!! I’ve been dividing my really big Hostas on and off for 2 weeks now ... it was fun at first but now it’s better watching you 🤣🤣😉

Watching you split that Hosta was very satisfying. I feel more comfortable getting ready to split two myself. Thanks you!

Here's to piddling! One of my favorite videos.
I told her that she was going to have to work her magic & she did!
What a great Sunday!! The patio looks amazing!!!
Love videos like this. Everything looks great.
Love the arch. It's going to look so pretty with the roses.
Yes. Some trellises or arches get too busy with ornamentation. That's just a waste because the flowers will be the focal point.
Jackson is such the helper 👏👍
Hi Jenny, every year I would swear there was a new weed. Last year was this vine-like weed that actually bloomed. The winter was not cold enough to kill it. Will be dealing with that and all the normal weeds. Love watch you today. I to will be dividing & moving hostas to get ready for the lemon coal sedum. It was an absolute joy to spend time with you yesterday! I can’t wait to see how you develop & grow Jennifer’s garden 💗
Digging in Roots and rocks, and slugs....I am very familiar with those. 🤣 Gardening IS therapy. The best kind.
Love that!
Amazing results from just piddling! 😄🌱
Beautiful patio!
Love the video it's hard work to do what you have to do when redoing a flower bed! Keep those videos coming!
Loved the video, thanks for sharing!! Slowly but surely you guys are getting it done. Will be beautiful when it’s finished!!!!
So happy to see this video. I have been working in my shade garden and splitting hosta. I have one small spot I am still trying to figure out what I want to do. Always a work in progress for me.
Brilliant job Jenny you have both worked so hard and everything looks beautiful 🪴🌺🪴
I can relate to dealing with the rock. I have to dig out rocks every time I put in a plant.
That's true for me, too.
Loved watching your thought process for plant placement.
Awesome video Jenny ,Jerry and family. ❤
I just love your opening music. So cheerful and peppy. :-)
The patio looks great ! 😍
We use that term here as well, when you are doing a little of this and a little of that. lol Lots of dividing happening here too.
Thank you for tip on slugs. Buying the Bonide slug bait tomorrow! I like to see how other gardeners site plants in a bed.
Planting under trees and around tree roots is the worst! I’m glad I’m not the only one who struggles!
So satisfying seeing all those weeds taken out! Am I the only one who wants to know what Jenny had cooking all afternoon in the oven?? :)
It was a family favorite recipe shared by my beloved friend Annette! It’s Italian Beef Drip that is so simple, yet so delicious!!!
@@GardeningwithCreekside Sounds like it! I may have to do some Googling and find a recipe for it. Enjoy the day!
With gardening i have learned not to leave bare spots or it is like inviting weeds into my garden so I fill it in with whatever I have until I can buy or propagate what I really want!
Very true! I also think we got behind on mulching this space in the craziness of 2020. A nice layer of mulch really helps control the weed population for us.
Very cold weather here in NY. Even had a tornado nearby yesterday hope to be able to garden soon. Everything is coming along nicely in your yard . look forward to seeing progress reports.
Whenever I hear the word "piddling" I think of peeing. 😂 Maybe it's a colloquial thing. I'm in Minnesota.
Looking good🌺
Let the birds eat the slugs. It's great to see that you have a healthy ecosystem.
so satisfying to watch someone else weed :) It looks lovely!!
Love this video and the background music! I will start as soon as the snow melts off here in NW Ohio!
Love the patio!!
I love the arbour and could not find it at Kinsman, did I hear you incorrectly? Darn slugs, I can hear my Hosta's saying "ouch, stop biting me"!!! Your patio area is stunning, what talents you all have!
