I am subscribed since early smite days, and I haven't played smite in more than 4 years. I have recently started watching you again before going to bed because it actually puts my mind back to when times were simpler and I didn't have as much responsibility, and it helps me relax and sleep.

I think you should watch the Caseoh episode of the Jynxi podcast where he talks about his experience of how he was able to expand his content from just NBA 2k. I think it is applicable to the way you feel. They start talking about it around the 3 minute mark.

You noticed this Weird Bastet interaction with Osiris stun, but as far ass I know, Bastet's jump works like that with EVERY stun that is at the end of a DOT/aftereffect. I first noticed it with Chronos' 3. It also works with the stun on Ah Puch 3 as well, although not in duel as She has to be healed by an ability.

Yea I come from a family who actually is very wealthy (in the millions). They own 8 different salons in Cali, Colorado and texas and although it does come with its perks like connections to certain people and taking certain vacations that are nice ultimately you trade off a mother and father for money.
I’ve always been someone who just wanted quality family time like we don’t have to go out to some super expensive condo just to enjoy each others company we could go out and play board games at a park and that would be nice they don’t necessarily understand the concept that just being together is something we could do like it always has to be grandiose or else we’re not really doing anything in their eyes. And you hardly hardly see them because they’re always flying different places for business and a lot of the time they’re very selfish and greedy with how they live and it’s just tough being around people are are like that especially when they’re your mom and dad.
People don’t realize how much a real wealth it is to have parents present. I Would go to friends houses and see them cuddled up watching movies with their parents goofing around and having fun together and feel a sadness because that’s something i’d love to have.

Technically it’s my step dad and my real dad is dirt broke and i chose to live with him my entire life because it just felt nice being around something more real, loving and close rather than a giant house that’s always empty, so alone and cold.
It’s unfortunate that you have to actually be around money to realize it really doesn’t buy happiness just comfort and temporary joy. Happiness overall is something more complex than temporary joy.

the reason smite doesn't have a huge fan base, in my opinion, is because it has a HUGE learning curve and also i just feel like hirez doesn't market it enough i think. smite needs to reach a lot more people because it'll come across more people who are willing to be patient and learn the game despite how hard it is.

Would it be possible to get a second channel where we can get like lets plays of other games like kingdom hearts and such? One where you can upload other videos and experiment with stuff without effecting the main channel and its algorithm? I totally understand the need to make sure the main channel keeps a steady income, but would love more Sam content!

Overwatch used to be my entire life at home, then Overwatch 2 happened. Broke my heart. While Smite 2 is not the same situation as OW2, at all, it still is a sequel releasing that is worse in every single way than Smite 1. It really worries me,
Hate the idea of "early access" or "open beta" etc, because, at the end of the day it IS the official release with the caveat of being able to say "its just a beta that's why it sucks right now".

the reason im excited for smite 2 is the fact there wont be as many gods, ive played smite for many years off and on and learning all the 100+ gods atm is too much for me. So when theres only 50 gods on release i can learn as they come out.
Sam I’ve only been watching you for like 5 years cause that’s when I found out about smite but I’ve never missed an upload. I’ve gone through your whole backlog and watched those videos. You’ve been with me through 2 relationships and break ups, the last one being my most difficult by far. Being here to witness your growth as a person has felt like a privilege. Thanks for the rant. I've been struggling because i feel useless since being diagnosed with leukemia at the age of 29. I'm on disability right now and feel worthless. But i take my meds for it daily and am getting better and will hopefully go back to work soon. I don't play smite anymore but have 3.5k hours 😂. I just come to watch you. Keep it up!!
Been watching you since smite season 1 and I haven’t played the game since cliodhna but I went on extremely long breaks without playing before I got back into. I’ve never missed an upload though I try to like all your videos because I can’t help monetarily like becoming a member or staying subbed on twitch, but I love watching you rip duel. I’ll watch for hours and rewatch videos too on days you don’t upload. You help me keep up with the meta in case I do want to get back into it but most importantly you’ve been a staple in mine and my families life all this time and I really hope that duel carries over to smite 2 because 1v1s are my favorite way to enjoy this game. Yo Sam glad you’re keeping up the Smite vids, but I had no idea you played Kingdom Hearts. UA-cam watcher not a twitch watcher. But holy crap I’ve played KH in release order as they came out since i was 9 years old. It’s the game that got me into gaming. As a suggestion why don’t you create a second channel and call it SamDaDudeKH? Wouldn’t that allow you to retain the viewership of your main channel and get a whole new audience when you play Kingdom Hearts? Also I tried streaming KH3 on release on a different channel and it immediately got copyright striked due to the music so be careful with the KH music, yes it’s goated but still be careful, also why it’d be better to put it on a second channel and not on your main.

Honestly Sam for me the hardest thing about smite 2 is the store in game. Trying to maneuver through that on a controller takes too long. It seems the store is more PC oriented on smite 2. That’s just my opinion though

My issue right now with SMITE 2 is the number of gods...I can't put more than a few games in because it is boring with 14 gods when I know I can play SMITE with 130+ gods already.
Smite 2 is in alpha . At release there will be around 50 gods .
Also , even if you can play a large pool of gods right now you will almost see the same gods every 2 games .

Around 8:30 you're talking about people playing smite cause addiction to the game or the friends they've made along the way etc.. man some of my best friends have been from smite. Like 8 years later I moved across the country and was suddenly 10 hours away from a smite friend instead of 30 and that gap is small enough now that we meet up occasionally for DND one shots or drunk weekends. I don't think I've traveled 10 hours for anybody else unless it was family moving for work or a significant other (basically family as well) smite friends are different lol were almost battle buddies

In my opinion I feel like the updates and changes to the game are so random, why don't they use polls like in old school RS where an updates passes after a certain amount of votes, games that don't listen to their communities are doomed to fail

Disagree with pretty much everything Sam's said with regards to Smite. To start with, Smite is nobody's favorite game. Even people with thousands of hours won't say this game is their favorite. It's a moba, a fun team game, but that's it. Actually, that's the second issue.
Smite isn't fun right now. Don't know about everyone else, but for the past couple years, this game has felt more like work than actual fun. Loading up the game to keep my skills sharp and keep up with the meta, hoping the game will have gotten better, only for the same issues that have been killing the game to still be there. This game puts me in a bad mood because I know how good it _used_ to be, and every session I play expecting it to be what it was, only to be reminded of how bad it is.
And I know I'm not alone. I get people have a hard time to accepting new things, but I consider Smite to be the exception - specifically because people _want_ it to change. It's been run into the mud by trying to be hyper noob friendly. Now, it's damn near impossible to balance and incredible unrewarding.
My point is people quitting Smite is not only justified, but expected. Any argument to keep playing it is weak at best and cope at worst. Hi-Rez goofed by canceling the pro league and announcing Smite 2 a year early, coupled with awful update after awful update for years, and the result is people abandoning it in mass. Now, the pressure is on to make _sure_ Smite 2 is good. Cause if it's not, all the people who've quit Smite 1 aren't coming back.
Smite 1 will never have the audience or player bass it used to. Hi-Rez puts all their eggs into Smite 2 and now it's all they have left. Love ya Sam. Love your content, but this game is done for.
