- Fun pack crazy day with Tater on board in the truck. We are making a qwick trip to Indiana and stop for a tour of the Iowa 80 truck stop. the largest truck stop in the world.

Awesome spending time with your kids in the truck. I'm 46 years old and still remember going trucking with my Dad in the 80s in an old COE International. Fantastic memories.

The first we were in Jr. High then later for shits & giggles.
During the first run the Truck O Matt was in a different spot then where it is now. It was fun except during clean outs !!!!

I'd be willing to bet never in Bill Moon's wildest dreams that Iowa 80 would get to the size and capacity it has today. Back in 2015, I took in the tour of the trucking museum. I spent 4 hours in there and took countless pictures. The steering wheel holders of the mega carriers have no clue how pampered they are. No inverter, no air ride, hell, half the time no cab! Had a nice scavenger hunt for the kiddos too. Enjoy the time with Tater, be safe, and I'll see you tomorrow.

When I lived in Iowa I had not been there, one day I will especially the museum. I've been to Peoria, Illinois once, stayed at a Holiday Inn there.
Loved the video, Tator tot is a funny kid. Just think, you get to spend all that time with your daughter and have lots of great videos to embarrass her with when she brings her first boyfriend home and tries acting all cool!

Fun my daughter used to ride with me on "take your daughter to workday". So she was a preteen we go from Twin Cities to Gaylord MN. First the towns name is "funny", then later on the return trip she announces your job sucks! OK why I ask, "I'm missing all the good cartoons!" Great memories ,time well spent. The grown daughter has a Russian Hamster!

Take a piece of rubber floormat and rivet it to the light housing to cover those wires.

That's quite cool how that one CB trucker recognized you. And I'm not an alarm person either. When I sleep, I sleep like the dead. My alarm clock can go off and will still be buzzing 45 minutes later while I'm still lying around.
I enjoy seeing your children travel with you. Cherish every moment with them. Seems hard to believe my daughter is 14.

Our daughter started running with me when she was twelve, now she is married to an owner operator and they run as a team. They run an red and black pet with a big bull bumper. Most of their loads are near where you run.Stay safe out there.

Father daughter bonding nice! One of these days I want to go to that truck stop came close in 2007 when I first received my cdl , the trainer I road with wouldn’t stop their said I would spend all my money went across the street instead man was I mad don’t know when I will ever get out to Walcott Iowa again lol.

Well they usually have 2 trucks in there. But they are remodeling.
@@truckingwithschmidt7120 well i showed the video of the truckstop to my son kean whos eleven and has autism and he was blown away by the size of it and he then said he saw a toy truck on the shelf in the truckstop and said it looks like FIRST CLASS andbthen said "daddy i want a miniature FIRST CLASS" lol so now im trying to find one in the uk 😂😂😂

You have a wonderful family and the memories and the experiences that your children get to have by traveling with you are wonderful! They changed up iowa 80 a fair bit since I was there 6 years ago. Hope I will get the chance to take my daughter there one day.
The other 2 trucks are just gone temporarily for remodeling. But ya that food area changed big time.

Side story. Bobtail at the guard shack in Greenfield was coming back to pick up a load that was supposed to have been ready at 11:00 am. Finally loaded at 10:30 pm. Was able to get an 8 hr break while waiting. Delivered two drops in Chicago, picked up a load in Waukegan and will deliver in Ankeny, IA ahead of the storm.
He had some trucking to do.

Iowa 80...I wouldn't stop there myself it was the last truck in the country. 1960s the shop got my dad for 500 bucks due to their Fuel having water...wife and I for food poisoning there in 2007 . Bought my dad and I steak dinner.they brought us leftover steak straight outta the refrigerator., Manager was mad at the server .they had it on camera pulling steak outta refrigerator .Then brought is steaks that were black as coal all the way thru... But I do love walking around the place and seeing all the trucks Inside..got work to do .... Peace Love and 18 Wheelz.....We gone by by
