Probably my favourite theme from any of the Layton games. There's just something so... pleasing about it. Calm yet mysterious. Props to LEVEL-5 on this one.
This track sounds like a very elderly man peacefully dreaming of his younger, much livelier days. He was happier then, and life was good. It’s better for him to remember the past than acknowledge the present, lest it all fade away in an instant. How fitting...
i can’t listen to any of the song of the soundtrack because they make me so emotional and nostalgic, they remind me of my childhood and how much i loved (and still love) the professor layton series...but every now and then i come back just to cry a bit and relieve all the stress😢
Folsense embodies the spirit of the town *so* well. Hearing it now, years from when I first cracked open my DS, feels like taking a big whiff of nostalgia and giving into the illusion that I'm 10 again. It fades, and you have to let go sooner or later, but one last dream can't hurt, right?
In this theme i could feel like i'm slowly being forgotten, and in the theme, i can sense Anton's pain of never seeing the one he loved again. The theme also reflects that everyone is just part of your imagination and that Folsense is just a dream. This is why Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box is my favorite Professor Layton game.
I play this song all the time, especially when I am working on my computer and its raining. It is so somber and by far my favorite track from the entire series.
Playing the game back as I child, making my way through this constantly dark, forgotten and isolated city, like an own closed microcosm, separated from the rest of the world, accompanied by this relatively depressing and devastating Theme... A haunting experience beyond compare... I remember walking through specific parts of the City, the highly enlightened alley and the place with the tower leading to the forest, it gave me the feeling of melancholy, back in a time, when I was too young to even know what melancholy is, and the feeling of THE END, the end of everything, as if everything would be over now... The final step, the final era before the Apocalypse... This specific view on this place leading to the dark and lost forest, was like looking into an abyss... In these days, I automatically think about the 2nd part of a quote by the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, about how, when you stare too long down an abyss, the abyss starts to stare back in you...
Idk if this is a conclusion of a great chapter or a sad ending of a friendship or just a little "sup bro" but if it would be the first or second one then this comment ist one of the most tragic comments I ever read one yt. Combined with the fact that Folsense's theme is so calm with it even giving it a bit of a sad vibe combined with no one having replied on this comment for a year (at the point of writing this comment) makes me truely pity you. I hope you find your friend or have a long friendship with them. Would also fit with this being 2024 now.
Hi, it'd been exactly a year now since I first stumbled upon this comment and it honestly never really went out of my brain. That's why I wanted to do another check up and ask you if you have reconnected with your friend again.
@derCelebiLP how kind of you to check up again. Unfortunately I have still not found him, however I am learning this song on piano because it reminds me of him. I hope all is good in your life. :)
We're getting old. You and me. There is no going back. We lived through that time and its not something you or me can repeat. Level Up doesnt make games anymore. There wont be another game. You and me, weve played it. Weird to think that all of that is over. Not many people will get to enjoy what we enjoyed. Weve grown up, going separate ways. We're back because of the UA-cam algorithm, not because we actually remembered this relic of a game. Its a great kick of nostalgia but you will have forgotten about this by tomorrow, i assure you. It was an amazing time, wasnt it?
finished replaying diabolical box just the other day, and folsense is such a wonderful but depressing place to think about. i love that the tea minigame gives you more lore but at the same time, seeing all the residents note that they feel tired and like they're seeing things just makes me so sad...
I know it sounds hard to do, but @Blackloner you have to get acostumed to it, soon you will see that the only person you can count is yourself and you have to find happiness within you and not depend on others
It's tracks like this that make me upset about missing out this game. (Misthallery is a another good example as I haven't had a good look at Spectre's Call yet either).
This song reminds me of the chelmy puzzle and how I could never solve it, so I just started walking around, seeing all the people who I thought were real...
You can just feel the sadness of this city's inhabitants, the dream-like state they are trapped in
Half a second in and I’m already getting flashbacks of the tea minigame.
“Don’t worry, we can probably use it as a detergent!”
"Um, Professor? I think I'm going to throw up."
"PROFESSOR THIS SHIT'S FOAMING AND HAS ALREADY EATEN DON PAOLO IMPERSONATING FLORA"
@@jennysanimations4181 I'm dying reading this! The good old days of poisoning layton
"We can use it as rat poison"
I hear this theme (in my mind) after a long day at university and I go to home at night, seeing the city's lights.
I've actually been listening to this walking around campus myself.
@@cartermelsha646 I been there 👍

@Ross King same
This just reminds me of making disgusting cups of tea for people
Tom Johnson that, and when life was simpler and we lived in little worlds
HAHAHAHAHAHA My entire life in this game
Cups of tea? Oh I thought I was making poison because I may as well have been lmao
Thanks for unlocking such a funny memory, I needed that laugh !
I got stuck in Folsense because I was terrible at solving puzzles and never worked out how to make good tea, good times
I finished the game yesterday for the 11th time i think and im still crying over it.
It was peak tho

Whenever I'm feeling down and I feel that physical pain in my chest, I like to turn to this song and quietly sob away
Idk your situation but you'll be alright man 😊
Folsense.. False Sense...
Ha.
Hershel Layton = Harsh ladder
Well, this was very bad
shoosh pap Or Folsense -> Non Sense...
Kawaii Potato chaos is a laddah. Layton is baelish, Flora is Sansa lol. Luke is Bran
Luke Triton= Like Titan
Since Folsense sounds like the words False Sense it kinda represents that all the people and lighting were fake and all that was real were themselves

Gotta say this is one of my favorite themes.
Mine too
so melancholy but for some reason my feelings are positive
This tune is perfect love, and its sad I probably wont get to see the professor again.
:(
Good news buddy
To my friend, Bleu. If you're reading this, I hope you're happy and healthy. This song makes me think of you.
