It’s insane to me that we as parents are expected to work SO MUCH in this country and still manage our home lives and picking up our kids from school when the car rider line is 2 hours long, sitting in morning traffic, etc etc and still work 40 hours a week while taking care of our children and our home. The stress is too just too much.

Agree!! I’ve been doing the same and not leaving until a little after school lets out and it’s been only like a 10-15 min wait which is really nice! Thank you for sharing! 🩷🩷
Amanda, I had the same situation like this, our car line is about an hour long everyday. not sure which school area you are in, but we ended up change to walker, so I just go and park my car in the near by area and walk to school pick up kids, reduce the time to about 10 minutes since you don’t need to wait in the car anymore. If you can, try that. Also walkers used to be the first batch out.
lol. This reminds me of my kiddos when they were in elementary. The school bell for the end of the day is 3:05 and some parent would be in line at 2:10. I use to think I was early at 2:45 😅 nope I was waaaayyy in the back of the line (I think this is pretty normal in Texas) Good ole days 😅 Enjoy while they’re still little and the pick up line.
Amanda, I am blessed to have one child - a son. I know that this was a hard experience for you. It just about broke my heart when it happened to me. But let me assure you, my son is now one week shy of turning 36 years old, and there are going to be many more times that he needs you. Not in the same way, but he will still need his mom. The day he is getting his driver's license, and he's petrified that he is going to flunk the test. The day he has to decide what he is going to major in college, and waiting to see if he gets accepted to the college he wants. The day he wants to ask the love of his life to marry him, and he keeps asking if I think she'll say yes. And on his wedding day - oh that's a good one when he's pacing the floor waiting to get the whole wedding started. On the sad side, when they are worried about their unborn baby, and he doesn't want to add to his wife's fear by crying in front of her. And months later when his wife is about to give birth and he looks at you and says that he has no idea how to be a good father. The list goes on and on. So don't worry - you are still going to be very much needed.
Thank you so much for sharing this great perspective!! I teared up thinking about those times later in life you mentioned like going to college and getting married 😭😭 🩷
@@Amanda_Fadul And I'm tearing up today as I wrap my baby's birthday gifts for his birthday tomorrow. I remember Sept 8, 1988 just as clearly now as I did 36 years ago. Then I laugh watching him play with his 4 and 2 year old daughters.
Thank you for sharing all your thoughts and feelings! ❤ This video made me feel like a friend was sitting with me and just chatting ❤️❤️ My 4 year old just started public TK and we didn’t even get to walk her in the first day, we just dropped her off and then left 💔 But, she absolutely loves school! I heard you mention an alarm clock for your kiddos. What do you use? My daughter has to be up at 6am and this 2nd week of school has been rough in the mornings. 😂

Hi Amanda my daughter is now in 1 st grade and I feel the same way when she was in kindergarten I worry about her im sad i feel bad cause she doesnt like school so it affects me at work all day i worry about her its so hard to send them away and trusting someone else to take care of your child your precious being I totally get what your feeling. ❤
My boys had and hour and 30 minute bus ride and we live 5 minutes from the school. My son would cry about having to poop on the way home and he was afraid he wouldn't be able to hold it! I did everything I could to get off work early so I could do parent pick up. I did learn that if you get there at the end of pick up time, you can pull right up to the school with no wait! Sometimes the kids would complain about being the last ones picked up, but I explained to them that it made no sense to sit in line for an hour when I could literally pull up and pick them up- in & out in five minutes.
That’s so long! That makes my heart break about the bathroom thing! A lot of people have also said to get there at the end of pick up so there’s no wait, so I’m going to try it! Thank you for the advice and keep up the great job 🩷🩷
The first time with the daycare switch might’ve been extra hard on Quinn with a new house and new school but now that you all are settled in the new house she may be able to handle the daycare switch better! Yay for Chase’s first day! Our kids get home faster if they ride the bus and it saves our sanity from the car rider lines, they are crazy!! When my kids were smaller we did school after care because I worked in an office and they loved it. I felt guilty about leaving them at school so long but they got to play with their friends and have fun snacks after school and I wasn’t stressed picking them up so it really worked for us! It’s stressful finding a new routine for sure!
You’re so right about Quinn and so much change at once! It was all wrong last time and she’s loving her new school now thankfully! It sounds like a lot of kids love after school care which is amazing! Thanks for the feedback…really helps to know there are so many options! 🩷
@@Amanda_Fadulso glad to hear the new daycare is working out better this time! Yay for new routines that work for everyone! You’re a great mom, Amanda!
Happy Tuesday lady! How has their first week gone??? Hope you're doing well 😊 Love your outfit!! When I'm able to pick up my daughter I go park at her school 30 minutes before they get out to have a guaranteed spot in the parking lot
Pick up is always a long process at many schools. At my kids old school some parents would be in the pick up line an hour early. I would leave 15 minutes before school got out. I don’t have time to sit for over an hour with a toddler in the car. We moved and the first day of the new school was a mess. Traffic was backed up onto a busy main road. Thankfully this year they ride the bus.
That seems a crazy and stressful first day for both parents & children with cars everywhere! We don’t really have car rider lines in the UK (Primary). Most schools won’t let you drive onto the premises unless you hold a Blue Badge (disabled) so people park & stride. We do let parents accompany children in for the first week - after that parents must say goodbye at the gate to the classroom. As a teaching assistant, you are doing a wonderful job of being supportive to Chase - let him know you are excited for him when you drop him off & will hear all about his day later. This will give him confidence. It’s tricky but try not to let him see you cry at drop-off- kids really feed off their parents emotions. It will make the transitions into school easier for you both and in a week or so you’ll have a new routine nailed down. I’m sure the craziness of the start of year will also calm down for you 🤞. With my own kids btw, (before I worked in a school), I also used to get one word answers about their day but would find later (bath or bedtime) is when they’d talk more about their day. I think when school ends they just want to wind down for a bit before sharing. Good luck - you’re a wonderful Mom!
OH MY GOSH! I am so stressed out now about sending my daughter to kindergarten! right now she is in preschool so I have one more year.... but wow. JUST WOW! how are people supposed to work their jobs and take/pick up their kids? this almost makes me want to homeschool (just kidding - i could NEVER do that!) haha, all of this is good for me to know for the future! I am so glad they had such a good first day! they looked SO cute and the lunch you made Chase looked perfect!
Girl cry away. This is my fourth child going to Kindergarten my oldest is 21 youngest is 5 I was fine the first day when I walked her in but that next day in the car rider line I DEFINITELY UGLY CRIED all the way home. Also here in Huntsville, Alabama our car rider line was crazy the first week - we started Aug 2. It’s calmed down and now and easy breezy Hugs to you.
This made tear up! Nothing prepares you for dropping off your little one😢 I have a 2nd grader and my son starts preschool next month. I'm going to be a mess when he's in kindergarten next year.
I’m sorry that this is so stressful, 😣 it’s supposed to be a great new chapter for your family.. it’ll get better after a week. I have a 6th and 2nd grader and the pick up line is longgg, but what helps for me is I park down the street from the school and walk to the school like 5mins before the bell rings, pick up kids and walk back to the car, and I skip the long line of cars.. don’t know if you have that option, hope it helps.
In the beginning getting a routine and trying to figure out what time to leave home for school drop off and pick up. I've b 16:26 een there and still doing it. My oldest is in high school, and my youngest is in elementary school, starting and ending at different times while working. It's hard, but it will get easier. What makes it bit easier is having my kids school close to wear we live.
See what after school programs there are for Chase. That way you don’t need to rush home I get him. You can work your full day then make your way there.
Gahh you’re making me cry. I cried when we first dropped off my daughter to daycare - she was 11 months old. And then I cried again when she moved over to the toddler class at 20 months old. I saw her sitting in her little chair at the little table with the other kiddos and I just remember thinking she’s not a baby anymore. 😭
This is why I bought our e-bike. I couldn't handle the only option being our car and we live 2 miles away. I'm praying things get easier at your school
I havent watched the whole video yet but my experience with car rider line is this, dont try to be first in line. There are people who get off of work and instead of going home, it makes more sense for them to go and wait at the school. They are there first. They will wait an hour+ to sit in those lines. Instead, go later. Everything has cleared out and you have no run-ins with upset parents and no waiting required. You can always remind Chase that you would NEVER forget him at school, so he doesnt get panicky if he doesnt see you immediately. Since school starts at 745, if you left your house at 730, hed have plenty of time to get to his class and you'll have no wait in the car line. He doesnt eat school breakfast, theres no need for him to be there when the doors open. If school gets out at 310, personally, I'd leave my house at like 317-320 since you live so close. All the cars will be gone and he wouldve had to wait that amount of time regardless if you were in the car line or not. We've been doing this for a few years now and my kids and i just had an amazing, stress-free first day of school drop-offs lol
This logistic sounds SO stressful. I live in Germany in a small town - we walk or bike everywhere… Preparing my son’s lunches is already enough for my morning :) then it’s just a 5 minutes walk…
I’ve lived up north and down south.. parents like to drop off their kids down south.. especially in Florida. Up north.. they preferred bus riders.. bc of snow, safety, faster drop offs and pick ups. The drop off/ pick up situation gets better by the second week. I would leave 5-10 min before the bell would ring and the wait wasn’t so long. It will get better.. I promise. The buses.. they will be late for the first week.. but it gets better by the second week
It’s so funny how some states and countries have you drop your child off in a car line. I have never heard of such a thing. I doubt that would work here in Canada. I guess we just don’t know anything like that. So early for breakfast with the kids. It’s a different world now. Go, go, go. You handle it well and you’re such a caring good mom who wants the best for her children. It’s alway chaotic the first day of school. I had 3 kids put through the school system. It’s crazy for sure.
Lol my daughter did the same thing with all the questions I asked 😅 for her first day of first grade. But definitely can relate with all the emotions. I was too overwhelmed yesterday to cry, but today (day 2) the waterworks came wtih a force and I just sat in my car crying after i dropped her off 😢
Yes to this! I’ve started doing this and it’s 100x better!! Any recs for the vacuum mop?! I’ve been wanting one but not totally convinced they work! 🤯 lol
Are busses not a thing?! I could literally not do that with my job (which is actually a super flexible position). My little starts kindergarten next week and we will use the bus. Our district is stil only half day K so we will be paying for childcare at the school for the other half of the day which feels like a scam.
We have buses but they’re still very off schedule and the kids are getting home a lot later than if I picked him up so I’ll have to revisit once they normalize! We just got rid of a big daycare payment so I’m trying to not add another payment 🤪
I am one of the last to pick up, which means no lines and the traffic is mostly gone. But yes, I see cars (probably people who got off work and makes more sense to just wait) 45 minutes before school is let out. I see them if I happen to pass by the school on my way somewhere, I come back right at discharge time and my kids probably wait 2-3 minutes outside with their teacher for me (along with other kids whos parents are NOT There 30-50 minutes early.
It is normal, but sorry I am not waiting a hour lol. My oldest takes the bus home and my two other ones are both in middle school. Don’t feel you need to get there that early as that is insane to me. I leave at 2:50 and kids are out at 3:10. 😊
Hi God bless you hello from NYC but im in vacay in Florida:) love watching your videos. i went through the same with 3 different schools traveling back and forth! Any chance theres any buses that you can pay private or a facebook group for the parents in the school sometimes parents are looking to make extra cash and they offer rides. It would help with at least one of the pick ups. Your doing great!!! Please slow down sometimes and rest mentally it will overdrain you. May God give you strength ❤ Jesus loves you 🙏🏻 ❤️

That’s a great idea although there’s no where for us to park and walk to my knowledge! I’ll have to investigate lol thank you for sharing! 🩷
lol. This reminds me of my kiddos when they were in elementary. The school bell for the end of the day is 3:05 and some parent would be in line at 2:10. I use to think I was early at 2:45 😅 nope I was waaaayyy in the back of the line (I think this is pretty normal in Texas) Good ole days 😅 Enjoy while they’re still little and the pick up line.
lol thank you for sharing!! I know I’ll look back on these days and miss them later on 😍
Amanda, I am blessed to have one child - a son.

It flies by fast. My oldest is in 8th and I vividly remember his first day of kindergarten. I’m already cry looking at old photos and videos.
Awwww 🥹🥹 so emotional! 🩷
My daughter also started kinder last week and I’ve had all kinds of emotions!
It’s A LOT! 🥹 hang in there mama, we’re all going through it! 🩷🩷
Thank you for sharing all your thoughts and feelings! ❤ This video made me feel like a friend was sitting with me and just chatting ❤️❤️
My 4 year old just started public TK and we didn’t even get to walk her in the first day, we just dropped her off and then left 💔 But, she absolutely loves school!
I heard you mention an alarm clock for your kiddos. What do you use? My daughter has to be up at 6am and this 2nd week of school has been rough in the mornings. 😂
You’re so welcome!! Aww so hard not being able to walk her in 🥺 we have this hippo alarm clock that turns green when it’s time to get up! Here’s the link: amzn.to/4dzDac8 good luck with the mornings, they are tough!!
I’m so appreciative that where I live in Australia I can walk 5/10 minutes to pick up my kid from school!
That’s amazing!! ♥️
I am in Arlington TX. And my son gets out at 3:20. I leave my house at 2:30 and beat the crowd. He’s in prek lol.
lol! It’s a long time waiting!
I remember putting my oldest on the bus for the first time to go to Kindergarten, I didn’t think I would cry but I did cuz I just thought she was so big. 😢 totally normal and I hope it all went well and will continue to go well for the kiddos!
It’s so hard not to cry! Thank you so much, they did so well 🩷🩷
Hi Amanda my daughter is now in 1 st grade and I feel the same way when she was in kindergarten I worry about her im sad i feel bad cause she doesnt like school so it affects me at work all day i worry about her its so hard to send them away and trusting someone else to take care of your child your precious being
I totally get what your feeling. ❤
It’s so tough sending them away especially if you know she doesn’t like school ☹️ I hope things get for you! 🩷
Hi Amanda!
Mom of a kindergartener here, I hear you… the emotions, the changes, the chaos of 1st day of big kid school was a lot for me too!🥹😃🙃🤪
♥️♥️♥️
Happy Tuesday lady! How has their first week gone??? Hope you're doing well 😊
Love your outfit!!
When I'm able to pick up my daughter I go park at her school 30 minutes before they get out to have a guaranteed spot in the parking lot
Thats funny cause i do the same thing im
So excited to go get my daughter but I rather park in and wait in the heat lol
Hi! Thank you for sharing! Things have been so much better as the weeks have gone on! Hope y’all are doing well 🩷🩷
Pick up is always a long process at many schools.
Seems like this is common in a lot of places! Hope the bus is working better for y’all 🩷🩷
My children are 10 and 15 and the first day of school is always emotional for me!
I bet it doesn’t get any easier as they get older! ♥️
sure the craziness of the start of year will also calm down for you 🤞. With my own kids btw, (before I worked in a school), I also used to get one word answers about their day but would find later (bath or bedtime) is when they’d talk more about their day. I think when school ends they just want to wind down for a bit before sharing. Good luck - you’re a wonderful Mom!
Definitely normal. The first 2 weeks of school is always chaos where I live too
Good to know!! 🩷
So random - which shade do you use in the maybelline powder? We’re the same skin tone and I never get the right shade - thanks!!
I am so glad they had such a good first day! they looked SO cute and the lunch you made Chase looked perfect!
lol to the homeschooling! I could never either! Thank you, they did so well 🩷🥰
Girl cry away.
It’s calmed down and now and easy breezy
Hugs to you.
This was me too!!!! lol the ugly cry watching him walk into school 😭😭 glad it gets better! Hugs 🩷
The first day is always crazy and long wait. Where I am that calms down the second day lol.
This made tear up! Nothing prepares you for dropping off your little one😢 I have a 2nd grader and my son starts preschool next month. I'm going to be a mess when he's in kindergarten next year.
Prepare for the waterworks!! 🩷🩷 hope y’all have a great year!
That’s smart although I don’t believe we have that option based on the location of our school! It’s getting better 🩷🩷
Yes! I did this when I worked and it was a Godsend!
Thank you!
This!! I did the same 🩷 it’s so hard to see them growing/getting older!
This is why I bought our e-bike. I couldn't handle the only option being our car and we live 2 miles away. I'm praying things get easier at your school
Oh an ebike, that’s a cool idea! Thank you, I think in the next few weeks it should be much better once all the kinks are worked out 🩷
I havent watched the whole video yet but my experience with car rider line is this, dont try to be first in line.
Thank you!!! Such great advice and I’m totally going to test out leaving later and see how it goes 🩷🩷
I don’t even try the car line, I park and we do “walker”
This logistic sounds SO stressful. I live in Germany in a small town - we walk or bike everywhere… Preparing my son’s lunches is already enough for my morning :) then it’s just a 5 minutes walk…
So nice to be able to bike and walk everywhere!!
Buses are always late first week but it gets better i promise
Thank you!
Makes sense!! Thank you for sharing! Things have gotten so much better 🫶🏻
This made me emotional! Have you ever considered an au pair?
We haven’t considered an au pair but not sure if I’d need that much help at this point! Thank you!
Lol my daughter did the same thing with all the questions I asked 😅 for her first day of first grade.
But definitely can relate with all the emotions. I was too overwhelmed yesterday to cry, but today (day 2) the waterworks came wtih a force and I just sat in my car crying after i dropped her off 😢
Anytime we have to change a routine it's chaos until we develop a new one. I am worse then my kids when our routine is changed
Same girl!! lol ♥️
School lines do calm down!! Be the parent that pulls up right at the END of pick up to avoid the lines! Girl you need a vacuum mop- so much faster!!
Yes to this! I’ve started doing this and it’s 100x better!! Any recs for the vacuum mop?! I’ve been wanting one but not totally convinced they work! 🤯 lol
Sounds sooooo stressful. Thank God your second day was better.
Thank you 🩷
Are busses not a thing?!
@@Amanda_Fadul I totally get it with the daycare bills! Good luck and I hope everything calms down in a week or two.
I’m starting to do this as I can’t leave work in the middle of the afternoon and don’t want to wait an hour and a half in the car!
It is normal, but sorry I am not waiting a hour lol.
My oldest takes the bus home and my two other ones are both in middle school. Don’t feel you need to get there that early as that is insane to me.
I leave at 2:50 and kids are out at 3:10. 😊
lol agreed! I’ve been leaving 10 mins before school gets out and I’m still in line for like 20 mins buts it’s so much better! 🩷🩷
I cried while watching you cry. 😭My 4 year old going to TK this year.
🥺🥺 it’s so emotional for the parents!!

Are the kids ready to go to the first day of kindergarten?
Can your friend pick him up ,if they are going there anyway you can car pool
Definitely need to see if I can work something out with other moms doing pick up! ♥️
2 month baby activities vlog please akka
Sorry my kids are older now (3 and 5)!
May God give you strength ❤ Jesus loves you 🙏🏻 ❤️
Thank you 🙏🏻♥️
Unfortunately that’s very normal at the start especially
