I love this kinda stuff. It brings fans closer to the band members and helps newbies understand what it takes for whatever sound they are trying to achieve. I saw "Bill Leverty" do some like this of "Firehouse" a few years back and Ive became quite found of it every since then. Thanks 5FDP for doing this for your fans! (You are both great guys and I love ya like family) Rock On! /m\
***** he put the conduit there because before gibson starting making his guitar he made it himself and he didn't like the pick guard so he took it off and he didn't want exposed wires so put the conduit there and when gibson started producing them he decided to keep because he thought it made it look unique
The voltage regulator is an awesome idea, the sound will change slightly if the power drops, the regulator will keep it constant and thus your sound/tone is steady, to a trained ear guitarist that is important, you play better when your free, you can not get in the groove if you think your sound is off kilter even a tiny bit, its distracting. Power companies fluctuate power to ensure one a area gets 110 or 120, and on hot days amp draw is high, volts can drop. when amps are down volts go up and when volts go up amps are down. A law of electricity.
I remember meeting this guy (along with everyone else) when FFDP first started touring, I was pretty young but he had a lot to say and I remember leaving that show having a lot of respect for the guy. I haven’t paid too much attention over the years, but didn’t he leave the band for a while?
I love learning about other guitar players' rigs and all because I love their music, but as for me, my setup has been the same for years more or less because I found what works best for me that majority of the time Schecter Diamond Series Omen 6 stock models with standard or heavier strings so (10-46) or (12-56 ish), and a Line 6 Spider 3 75W combo amplifier with built in effects and options already built into the amp to have effect loops u can program right into the amp. Have had this rig for over ten years and still use it when I pick up one of my guitars.
"It's built into in in between the preamp and the amplifier, which, there's no way you could insert anything there the way we inserted it" (paraphrase) But, isn't that exactly what an effects loop is?
They play in Drop B on almost every song there’s really no other string gauge you can use with that tuning without having to tune after every song and plus they are harder to break because they are so thick
Derek Charette I respect their stuff, I acknowledge that they're talented musicians but I just don't like their music, I can't get into it. If you like it, good 4 u. Not everyone likes the same stuff.
I love reading the hate comments. Tell us more about you're opinion on what qualifies as good, and bad music. God I want to hear about how everything should sound like the shitty beatles.
I can’t tell what guitar Zoltan plays as I’ve googled and found signature guitars from Dean, BC Rich, and Diamond! Does this guy bounce around every few years??
Don't want to be a know it all here, but its not "Zolton" he says it cuz of his Hungarien accent, my dad has the same accent when speaking English. Its "Zoltan"
What are you talking about? They both basically use Marshall stacks. One is a Marshall, and the other a “Diamond”wich is also basically a Marshall. They use wireless because the stages they play are so big you’d need 50 ft cords. And they both have power conditioners because every touring guitarist should have one. That’s literally it,except maybe an effects processor for effects. So not sure what you are saying?
t's funny how he talks about the valtage regulator and it keeps changing between 119 and 120 Isn't that unit supposed do keep it in the same voltage all the time?! Or is it that number the current going IN the unit?!
troll man - YES!! Finally someone else who sees them the same way that I do. I have been calling them the Insane Clown Posse of rock for several years now! haha Pure cringe. Especially the singer.
Christopher Rowe the head of Dean (Dean Zelinsky) left Dean some years ago and started DBZ, then he left DBZ aswell and now runs his own company, Dean Zelinsky private label guitars or something like that
he left BC Rich, went to Dean. He left Dean for DBZ(Dean B. Zelinski, former Dean owner). DBZ and Diamond amps merged into one company instead of being a partnership. Dean left to start a new company while DBZ became Diamond guitars. Zolton continues to play and has a signiture model with Diamond guitars.
Hetfield's double necks were all ESP customs, or Made by Ken Lawrence, he played gibson explorers for only a short time, the ESP MX-250 is essentially a copy of an explorer that had back routing and EMGs in it.
That feature of guitars coming together and apart with flight case clamps was made for Michael Angelo Batio...since he plays right and left handed at the same time...invented a while back
SicSemperEvelloMortemTyrannis TyrannyEnder theyre doing pretty good without him though arent they, lol. James is a far superior vocalist and megadeth has so many shit songs that the ratio of good to bad isnt worth buying a full album. Exodus is better than both of them anyway but, ya know.
True Scotsman Nerves and no script probably. Most of the time when these rig rundowns are hosted by someone who is leading the rundown asking questions.
When that second lady is going through her B rig what company dissed her? She was going up the rack and like halfway up she said "we don't talk about this company, they dissed me." What that guff was that about
Zoltan's Dean is ugly as hell, but at least the prototype had a cool headstock--too bad he decided to have the same ol' same ol' ugly Dean headstock on the production model. Both his BC Rich and Diamond sigs were WAY easier on the eyes. As for Jason's Explorers...meh. The best revamp of that guitar in terms of both form and function were the Explorer 90s that Gibson made for Matthias Jabs (Scorpions) back in the day. JMHO.
Actually quite a lot of well known artists play dean... For example: Ashley Purdy, the bassist from BSC can't remember his name and many more ... Can't name guitarists not a guitarist myself ...
There is Ashley Purdy, Eric Bass from Switchfoot, Dave Mustaine from Megadeth, big one right there. Dimebag Derrel used dean as well as Washburn. Rusty Cooley, Micheal Ammot, Jacky Vincent, Tracii Guns (another big one) and many more. I had a dean 7 string Ventetta until it was smashed on stage :/ loved that thing.
The first guy with the dreads seems like a righteous dude who really cares about his setup and tone. The rest...
Zoltan bathory is his name
ha thats funny but i really cant agree

Firehouse!? Yyyeeeeeaaaaaa!🤘🏻
Most down to earth people ever. Great music and great players. Zoltan is the King of Speed Bag Rhythm. Love 5FDP, keep it coming.
Seriously... If FFDP ever reads this,
Thanks for keeping this shit real
I LOVE THESE GUYS!
I dont know why people are hating on the explores i admit there not the greatest guitars but they are pretty badass

I like how they tune baritone. I just wish Dean would make a 34" scale Edge 6 with neck through body.
13 to 66 dam! Talk about heavy strings.

Does anyone know what strings thicknes jason use please?
Zoltan uses dean? Hell yeah, dean is one of my favorite guitar company's 🤘🤘
Jason sounds just like Tom Morello. Close your eyes and listen. Your hearing two identical soccer dads.
I thought he kind of sounded like Mark Hoppus XD
he looks like phil x ...
Wow, you're right

Zoltan switchted to Dean?!?!
Yeah, his BC Rich sig was way better.
Yep his Deans are so much better. I just ordered the SK-6
The BC Rich models didn't look like the guitar was made of plastic.
Look at his OTHER model with Dean, the SK-6. You'll think otherwise
Yes, I know. Still don't like the look of it. It's better though
What conpany dissed james?

Radial.
What company dissed him?
I'm wondering the same thing!
UNO! Is he talking about the card game? :)
Those deans kinda look like satriani's ibanez
From my personal experience thicker strings don’t give enough high end cut after a certain point... think bass strings.
5FDP guitar tone has no high end really, works for their sound, more mid heavy
These big wireless amplifier rigs confuse me. Do any rock guitarists still just use Marshall stacks?
What are you talking about? They both basically use Marshall stacks. One is a Marshall, and the other a “Diamond”wich is also basically a Marshall. So not sure what you are saying?
Every amp head is a Marshall
t's funny how he talks about the valtage regulator and it keeps changing between 119 and 120
Isn't that unit supposed do keep it in the same voltage all the time?!
Or is it that number the current going IN the unit?!
Hugo Santos staying within 1 volt is still an acceptable range
Probably. But with a 3 volt difference you can already notice a difference in the audio :)
Used to work at NASA?
Cool rundown, not a fan at all of the band but cool dudes for sure. The nickelback of metal?
no

+Jone C Hoftun o, interesting. he gonna run out of names for his next ventures

Dean left to start a new company while DBZ became Diamond guitars. Zolton continues to play and has a signiture model with Diamond guitars.
Uh , dude . James Hetfield had plenty of double neck explorers , and one is from Gibson . So you're argument is invalid
He's meaning the M4 sherman style its one of a kind. Pretty obvious but thats what he meant
And the feature where it can come apart. I dont know of any guitar that can come apart like that
Hetfield's double necks were all ESP customs, or Made by Ken Lawrence, he played gibson explorers for only a short time, the ESP MX-250 is essentially a copy of an explorer that had back routing and EMGs in it.
