These boys made everyone want to be better than we were. I'm 77 years old and it was pure joy listening to these young men.
Thank you 😊
I am 65 and enjoy their music. I do enjoy hearing about their lives also.
@@debraw1955 I am 61 and agree with you 100%.
Awe
it's true - they were into their health and seriously would even sing about their health issues - what happened and how they got out of it - through hope. This really compares to the drug-themed songs of the oldies. While there are nice songs of the past, we shouldn't knock new music, because it's better in some ways.
Nick hit the nail on the head when he spoke about the Jonas Brothers meaning something to people. He’s right. We are rooting for their success as band mates and as brothers. Thanks for taking us on the journey boys!
Q
Love the fact that Dr.Phil talks about their parents without whom their success wouldn’t be possible ! Not to take anything for granted . Hats off to their upbringing , love and support !! Stay blessed
It's 2 years later, and this interview is still bringing me to tears. I've always been so so proud of these 3 Jersey boys. They've given me such happiness when everything felt dark. Their songs gave me something to turn to when I was young, and I still feel the same.
at 24:42 Nick really got emotional. I can see tears in his eyes. Also when Kevin was talking about his daughters birth after the band broke up, joe had tears in his eyes. heir bond is so precious because they are Brothers
Very impressed with how articulate and smart Nick is
Apparently, the fandom nicknamed him Mr. President.
I am a Christian but listening to this is heartbreaking. It is very disappointing how we as a church treat the people who have served us for long at the least bit of scandal. These young men have turned out great - rich, good work ethic and beautiful families. I hope this treatment doesn't turn their hearts against God. Praying for them.
These men are wonderful human beings. This is one of my favorite interviews.
They turned away from God sadly, to their youthful lusts (2 Timothy 2:22) but keep praying for them!
@@a.kamileon He who is without sin can cast the first stone. I'm sure you are not sinless. Not all Christian's follow every word of the Bible, sad but true. Life is hard, life as a Christian is harder, believe me. I may not agree with their choices in regards to this topic but God knows their hearts, not you.
Not all churches are like that. They were in a bad church! Sad it had to be that way
So let’s help them not knock them
@@a.kamileon I know some do not agree with your comment. But I honestly have tried to wrap my head around how someone raised in a Christian church environment can use the lords name in vein in a song. I just dont understand it.
I really enjoyed the authenticity in this interview, thanks Dr Phil for being a father n a friend. They r so articulate n hv self awareness .❤️❤️
I love the Jonas Brothers but the star here was Phil. The pieces of advice he gave them were amazing and even helped me personally when this interview was posted. He'so wise.
Dr Phil is older and wiser - glad he gave them advice. They will internalize the advice bc they are intelligent men
Seeing Joe bursts out in tears for the first time gives me goosebumps of imagining their fights at that time
This is so good to watch and feels even more open and revealing than the documentary. Like they all had more time to express how they feel now and how they felt when they broke up.
this interview is in a way difficult to watch because you can really hear everything they’ve been through and as a fan it’s heartbreaking to see. however I’m so glad they have healed their relationship.
I wanna give them all a hug after listening this ☺️
The boys are well raised. Glory to God. Dr Phil if you will read this, I've got two words for you : YOU ROCK!
The interview is very different from all the other ones and love how Dr. Phil gave them advices which the brothers accepted so well... I can never pick one brother, all three are precious ❤
They are extremely grounded and articulate individuals. So inspiring!
@@michelleeaton6602 definitely!
i love how nick acknowledged frankie
About that, I just recently found out about Frankie Jonas because they usually never talk about him. I honestly thought that their parents only had 3 sons!
@@MoniB888 yeh he still is but frankie or the rest of the boys don't really like him being called that
@@MoniB888 noooooooo, there is a different video in which Kevin say's they hate calling him "the bonus jonas" And Nick followed that up with a very stiff "he goes by Frankie" Nd Frankie is their no.1 fan he is at almost every show......
Thierri Clarke time stamp where he talks about Frankie
That was Kevin who mentioned Frankie it’s just that their voices sounded the same in that moment. If you look at 1:21:00 you can see Nick’s mouth wasn’t moving but Kevin’s was
one of the best interviews I have watched.
This interview is pure gold 💛
Agreed! This is must-see TV for everyone. There are many lessons learned and wisdom shared here.
Amazing individuals. Awesome young men.Beautiful family. Trials and difficulties you can overcome, and you will be blessed.
U guys have grown so much. I am so touched by these genuine conversation and feelings. Esp what kevin said about his daughters at the end
Where are they talking about Demi Lovato?
Joe always wears his heart on his sleeve.
His no less emotional than he's goofy inspires me.
1:19:40 Nick’s internal struggle that I haven’t seen before 🥺 I feel for him
The part when they spoke about the break up, Nick was like apologizing for being a jerk. Sometimes I did feel Nick was like a toxic perfectionist, but now I’m happy because he finally knows what matters.
Yeah he was 12 calling the shots
Have anyone noticed joe cried a little bit after seeing nick jonas crying? 1:20:01
I wish my mom was this supportive. She didn’t want me to do music and go to auditions because of school. I even told her I can do homeschool but she said no. 😭 …My life could’ve been different right now ! ….I bet those church people are now huge fans now😁😁 I love you Joe, Kev, Nick❣️❣️❣️
Dr Phil, it has always been a privilege watching your videos and listening to your perspective. Thank you
Love this . vulnerable and raw 💜❤💚 👏👏👏
Are they talking about Demi?
Articulate, kind hearted young men Great parents
I have so much respect for the honesty of this interview. This is before covid and the Brothers got through that time also to bring it onto their concerts now. Much happiness to them and their families. They are really good guys and they will always make it through because of that. Love you guys.
I love how they all let each other talk and really listen. Amazing guys ❤
I love this interview sm legit rewatched it lmao it’s so therapeutic and insightful
Kevin’s smiling when he’s talking about his kids is so adorable
should have named this unphiltered
Wow, that's a good one! I agree.
No doubt best interview I’ve seen in a long time
I’ve grown to respect these guys so much! I have always love their music and the family but if they never played music again it would still be a powerful force to be reckoned with. Such rare air
being on stage and singing and performing has to be so honest. listening to them u can tell how their hearts and souls and singing their songs are all connected. you can't separate any of it and then stir in the connection and type of relationships they have as brothers is important. this is such a lesson to learn about these celebrities/ singers / songwriters.
Idk where i was that i didn't see this video before...such an amazing conversation talking about everything...it feels like they were really relaxed talking with Dr. Phil even though some topics were not easy... I'm not surprised though since he's a good friend of the family.
Really loved this ❤
Not me watching this interview 4 years later, after attending their Atlanta show, and bawling my eyes out. Love these guys.
You are so right about these very decent, normal and talented young men and I am so very surprised in a great way about all the advice and words of wisdom that Dr. Phil has imparted to them about the haters and knowing who they are and that there are the three guys and then “the Jonas Brothers “. It was just a great interview that just came on after seeing them on Z100, I’m so glad I left it on.❤️
I interviewed them in 2006 or so when they were with Disney. I am incredibly proud of them for not only surviving the journey, but becoming victors.
I have been a fan since the beginning. I’m so glad they got back together in 2019. The doc is so good! I’ve watched it multiple times since it came out and love the new music and everything they have done so far together again.
Omg I just got to see this interview and let me just tell you I am 61 years old and I have loved the Jonas brothers for some time now!! But this interview was so heart warming emotional and a tearful one!! I wish you Gods very best in all you do!!! Go ROCK THIS REUNION GUYS!!!!! We love you in Alabama!!!!!!💕🙏💕🙏💕🙏
I love these guys. And Dr. Phil. Great convo here. I love that this turned into a therapy session for them.
very good i love this and how nick made sure to include frankie
Sophie time stamp?
@@Ghet1041:21:00 it was Kevin who said it
Thanks Dr. P! ❤
When Nick asked what Dr Phil meant by waiting for the other shoe to drop, I think he was asking if he meant Joe and Kevin were waiting for him to walk out again.
That’s exactly what he was asking
I loved this interview...Big up Dr Phil🙌
what they went thru with the break was supposed to happen. the exact same thing happened with the Bee Gees and they had the most wonderful awesome success ever afterwards.
Wow this is raw
Excellent!!! Awesome listening.
Nick is so handsome
Me: ok u watched it a million times, no crying
Me when Kevin starts talking abt Alena and Valentina: and the dam collapses
Love the Jonas Brothers.
Time stamp?
When Joe was crying in the documentary clip 😔 that killed me 🥹
Start at 9:30..., Dr. Phil adjusts his chair so he can listen better and get to know...
0:04 he just went right in hahahaha
Well thanks for this, I enjoyed watching
Their story is so sweet. They were huge when I was growing up but I was never a jonas brothers fan until recently
4:45 all the feels
My boys really derive more to this world and mostly Kevin actually too they all remind me of my own family so much because I have been in that situation myself with not being able to get along with each other at other times when we all got onto each other’s nerves from where I actually come from growing up with two sisters and two brothers. and the way I see myself in nick so much as my older self because I have most of his similarities in my own personality like he does in his.
Also love the 3 last minutes.
yeah, they are so very very talented and do not know why critics give them a hard time. what the heck!!
some are snobby about pop music and boy bands
It always irritates me when fans make bitter comments about nick breaking up the band. After watching this and the documentary, it's been made pretty clear that he had good reasons and that it was what they all needed, so i find it really insensitive when fans just completely disregard their mental health and choose to hate on nick for his decision. Your favorite celebrities are people too. You have no right to be upset with them when they decide to take a step back for their own health's sake. Imagine how that makes them feel.
Love Phil
yeah they did earn it I loved them from the start, but I don't like that they've hurt people along the way.
Mr. Perfectally Fine and Really Don't Care.
Just perfect❤❤❤
Is it just me or in that last question I'm 'crying like a baby' with Kevin's answer and lmao the next moment with Nick's?
27:01 🥺
Dr Phil should meet with Harry and Meghan to talk about the trauma they have both endured by the press, especially the unrelenting British press.
Harry and Megandont gave the integrity these three men have
Nick seems to be speaking more like the eldest brother than Kevin.Nick has a very good command of the English language compared to his brothers. Nick even looks more matured and has stage presence compared to Joe and Kevin.
They said they were born in the wrong order and I think that's true. Nick has always been the older brother to his two older brothers.
@@downing_shots7816 i have to agree with them. Nick is truly the oldest and more matured which is probably why he always dated older women.
@@jermainamburayan580 that is not as unusual as u might think. it is like that more than u think
@@downing_shots7816 also by Nick having a life threatening disease so early on forced him to grow up much faster.
@@parisjok5311 never said it was unusual.
I like Nick is no1 best
lol why does this only have 1 comment, is dr phils channel view botted?
No the channel just turned the comments on
You can tell Joe doesn't necessarily like Dr Phil talking down to him.
I feel happy they're back together 💕 Question: is okay that I cried with them in the documentary, in this interview, and in their concerts? Because I don't if it's okay.
SAME. MUCH SAME.
So sad about how the church treated them... I got hurt by the church as well so I understand alittle from where they are coming from...
If you never said a cuss word then more power to ya because we all have 🤣🤣
Every time I fall asleep on yt I wake up to this video??? I hate it
Kevin should have sat in the middle of the brothers
Yeah I agree, but since they’ve started as a band- Joe is usually in the middle. Haha
@@ilubyou13 always
I feel like Nick does that whole breaking up out of the blue, and then kind of regret thing afterward a lot. He did the same with his romantic relationships as well.
1:06:04
very nice..
specifically
@5:39 “pacifically”
i smiled
Nick doesn’t seem happy. Didn’t see him smiling really.
I am real one Jonas brother sister
42:47
y'all hahhahhhahahhhhahahha
24:50
Nick is still a loose cannon they will break up again. He is NOT all in, very sad.
I don't think he is. It was his idea to put the band back together.
Why do you think that? (Genuinely interested)
Lol ok buddy now they’re doing 5 albums one night on their WORLD TOUR
O
something just doesn't seem right about them getting back together - it just rubs me the wrong way somehow - it's like they had a few setbacks, something went wrong, and they're trying to go back and see what went wrong and move past it and fix it. The thing is it just seems they can't, even though they want to try - it's like in them. Maybe they miss old times - just doesn't sit right is all.
I would have said the same thing if they weren't brothers, no matter what they do, they are obviously a family.
I could understand what you mean, but I truly think it was one of those moments of "you don't know what you've got until it's gone" (mind the A Little Big Longer pun)
I think Nick really thought he could outshine Kevin and Joe, and do his best on his own. I think there were a lot of things he wanted to try, that weren't in the realm of the "Jonas Brothers." After Nick didn't do as well as he had hoped, which he even admitted in this interview, I really think he realized he was happiest creating music and moments with his brothers.
@@andiedrinkstea hey I love the pun - that made my day!
Interesting - idk the whole story, but it definitely sounds like Nick's own undoing, if he didn't relinquish the lead role to Joe, as he mentioned, he could've actually succeeded (I personally don't think even then, as he's more quiet and reserved than Joe).
The thing is that both actually did not too badly on their solo careers, which makes this all seem less believable - why are they trying to get back together if they were ok? They're just not explaining everything - and maybe it's because they don't understand it all themselves - which is even worse to accept them as a band together.
@@extropiantranshuman I mean, compared to where they were in stardom during the Jonas Brothers, Nick and Joe definitely didn't do as well with their solo careers.
The only songs that did alright for Nick were Chains and Jealous. Bit even with this, he wasn't selling out concerts like he did with his brothers. He was even just a opening act for Iggy Azalea. This was nothing compared to where he was before.
And nothing from Joe' solo album, Fast Life, made it to radios.
@@andiedrinksteaThanks for responding!
Joe did make the radio with cake by the ocean, but we digress. I agree - I think they did really well with Disney. I think that Demi and miley really split everything up with the drugs and demi telling joe to hush about it, but they did it onto themselves with joe saying he doesn't want to be perfect and picking on disney when they built his career. What I'm saying is that there songs have never really been that great - it was their image that held them up. Once they parted ways with their image and relied on their music, it only made sense they don't do well and individually their own images even worse.
But that's the difficulties in regrouping - they can't undo what they did and go back the way they came. They need to do better. They keep trying to pull the innocence act and then act differently in real life and then complain and it just doesn't work. What I'm saying is that the jonas brothers will have the same issues as their solo careers without their image holding them together, as we have seen, because their songs are hit and miss, even as a band.
BLAH
It’s 4 years later and this is still one of my all time favorite interviews ever. At this point I wish Dr. Phil could do this kind of interview with BTS. Maybe in 2025 when they get back from military service.
