I've been using unity for around a month now, and i can say its very hard to learn, but once you get the hang of it its not bad at all. So i agree with you
I'm a year and a half into it and I can say, you are right!! The more you learn, the more your game Design flows and the learning curve becomes easier and easier. I wish you luck on your unity journey!
@@LawAbidingCitizenHelloOfficer It's not just the hitboxes my friend. You have a lot more freedom, in any other engine than Roblox Studio. You don't just own the game, but the entire project. Unlike in Roblox where you're restricted to their platform, and you can just be banned and lose your game forever.
this vid was very informative as I am trying to become a dev. I am definitely subscribing
Your video got recommended to me again so I feel like subscribing
I use Roblox because it’s easy and coding is more of a hobby (for me) then a career. Sometimes i get out of my comfort zone and try Unity, but most of the time i end up just switching back to Roblox because of its simplicity. This is a Roblox developer beginner’s review of both game engines.
thanks for the information very professional 👍 keep it up
Great video! I hope I made the capybara happy.

Nice vid
I Use Unreal Engine And I Can Say Your Are 100% Correct On C++, My First Coding Language Is That And Its Been Two Years And I Still Dont Understand What Im Typing Half Of The Time
I know this video is 5 months old but I’m sticking with Roblox for a while because I made like 2 grand in a month just for having 50 - 500 players. But I am going to learn unity eventually.
How did you make it bro . I have 250 visits but i cant figure out how to make money from it?
@@28maitreyagupta21 if im correct you have to make items purchasable with robux and then convert that robux into money with roblox
good information
at 1:24 being a lua, haxeflixel programmer i highly disagree with the performance part. lua is faster than alot of coding languages in the world, it's powerful and allows unlimited things to do with it. what really limits it's use is the roblox engine. (btw roblox uses luau instead of vanilla lua which is the same but adds services and limits exploitable features) great video tho.
I´m currently learning c# and unity. I can already program with Lua and Roblox studio but unity is just more professional.
I mean it all depends on how good at coding you are. And by that I mean understanding algorithms and how to make what you want to make step by step. If you can do that you can work on any engine.
Roblox studio imo is easier than Unity but it's also restricting your capabilities a bit. The game engine has some limits, you can't really make a player model different from the roblox character, you can't really make a 2D game, the physics and lighting are also a bit clunky, but that may be just my opinion on it.
I've worked in my Highschool years on Unity (made a big Roguelike and a Platformer) and I'm gonna tell you. Making stuff in Unity is harder. It takes more time to get used to how it works. For example. A good obby in Roblox is really easy compared to a proper 2D platformer in Unity. The difference is that while you can still do some complicated things in both engines if you are smart (like simulating an entire ocean, or recreating minecraft), I think Unity is more built toward building complex things. (This doesn't mean that you cannot do complex things in Roblox Studio tho).
Along with that. If you are planning to sell your videogame: Selling something on Roblox will get you less money than selling it on Steam or Google Play.
as a game developer on Unity since 2020, i gotta say personally the interface and the scripting language on Unity is much easier there, since of course i haven't made any games on Roblox, and honestly i don't know if i should even bother learning Roblox for fun.
if you already know unity then dont learn roblox, it's that simple
I’ve been a Roblox developer that is very familiar with the Roblox engine.
Is there a guide for Roblox developers on how to learn unity? Like a guide tailored specifically for Roblox developers looking to take their creations to the next level?
Cool
i wouldnt say LUA's performance is poor because it has a lot of possiblity. even tho it hasnt an infinite amount by the way the creativity of dev make it have sooo much possiblity somehow
Im number 800 on the subscriber list
I'm a dev on Roblox since 3 years and now I want to switch to Unity but my computer don't support it, it takes like 1 minute to load the 2d game template :(
Use something easy. If you try a hard one, it may divert you from your goal. Life is enough difficult.
I've been working with roblox studio for a while now, and i've been thinking about trying Unity out!
@@GameabillityDev yea ı know u can use more types of script in Unity. I wrote this comment like 7 months ago.
I want simplicity, and I want to grow a big community, Ive used both, and Unity is harder to learn than roblox. Im not looking to create advanced games, so roblox is the better one here if you want to create simpler games. If you want to create more advanced games and have a little big of expirence, then I suggest Unity. But if your looking to create simpler games, then Roblox is the platform for you. Im starting on fe2 maps.

Bro i just started with Roblox studio and you made me lose hope
0 dislikes, as things should be.
why are people comparing these??
It doesn’t cost anything to upload audio to Roblox.
For the first 10 audio uploads it's free then you have to pay. If you are verified its 100 pieces of audio before you need to pay. Some people get special permissions to upload 2000 pieces of audio before you need to pay. This is all monthly.
@@CalTest72 This was recently changed to having a certain amount of audio that you can upload a month.
My conclusion is that Roblox Studio is a good engine to start with. and unity is more professional. also pro gameplay bro
People are switching from unity to other game engines like unreal engines after the 0.20 fee per download. So it's probably a good idea to stay on Roblox anyways or switch to other engines other than unity.
Its funny that you would compare Roblox and Unity lol.
Unity and Roblox Studio are both very common starting points in game development.
@@CalTest72 yeah. As a unity dev, I honestly think both need not be underestimated. There's serious money to be made on roblox, and with unity, I think it's the better option of the 2 long-term, but don't expect immediate results I'd say. Unity competes with unreal whether some people like it or not.
basically, heres the video in a comment Lua is a good coding language for beginners and easy to learn but comes with more limitation's unity is also a good coding language but is way harder to learn then Lua but does not have the same limitations.
this video is good but roblox is still adding features and may in the future be the winner
roblox is adding features that have been available in other engines since the dawn of time
it's way too far behind
Yeah imma try Unity
IMO Godot is like the blender of the game dev world. So if I had to pick now I would go with Godot.
unity is real roblox I love it but its a game not a engine but you could make a short game that may get real youtubers to play it ( when I say real ytrs I mean youtubers that dont just play roblox)
you need to pay for downloads in unity
wait how u diamond badge in arsenal
@@CalTest72 no bro the diamond means friend of dev the crown means vip then how u get diamond badge

performance poor? now thats just wrong LOL
another note is the long term use, for more creative freedom i agree unity is far superior, but for earning income even with the 23% cut (which is slightly pessimistic) i'd say its easier to make a living on roblox than on unity. regardless, great video 👍
roblox is not a game engine but still it is very good for making short games
Roblox is a game but Roblox studio is in fact a game engine. However, when I talk about Roblox it should be implied that I am talking about Roblox studio.
@@gwxstudio1 I am quite confused here, so this is gonna be my last comment here. Roblox studio is a game engine because it has the ability to make games period. I am not sure why someone would think otherwise, but maybe I'm missing something here? If I am tell me but I highly doubt the opposite would be true.
@@CalTest72 you cant download the file sof the game and u can ot put it in epic games or play store.
@@gwxstudio1 I lied about this being my last comment but how old r u? My best guess is 9 and sry if I sound triggered but don't talk if you don't know shit. I'm just trying to do homework pretty please go away :) I cannot be nice with someone who is too ignorant to agree on such a trivial and common sense thing.
This is like comparing Apples To Oranges
The purpose for the video was to inform people who don't have unreal engine on their mind but have Roblox Studio and Unity on their mind. That was the case for me when I first started and there was only one long paced video on Roblox vs Unity. So this was for a very specific group of people (And also to get views cause I was lazy to game dev) : )
I know this isn't a devlog but I got lazy so y'all have to wait. I hope this vid does well :)
