    Car on right, perfect response.
    Stopped, for emergency vehicle.
realises they are in the way, and moved out of the way, in under half a second.
To the unknown driver, I salute you.

Really enjoyed watching this. How calmly and smoothly they drive the fire engine, yet not hanging about either. The traffic respecting the fire brigade and vice versa.
P.S. Nice town, also nice to see another fire station well enroute too ;)

Hi mate. The other fire station they pass on this run is the old (now closed) Weymouth fire station. The new replacement station at the video's start point is quite a considerable way out of town, as can be realised when you see that it takes this fire engine over three minutes to get there.

Great bit of driving. Particular impressed by the crew not going over-the-top with the sirens and panicking other drivers when they come to a bit of a stalemate. Calm, respectful and immeasurably helpful to drivers who, desperate to get out of the way, find themselves in a bit of a fix. Any American friends watching: this is how you drive a fire engine!

Where have you spent your "20+ years driving fire appliances"? In the desert? Who says you don't need sirens on all the time? Are you telling me you'd turn the bells off driving through that built-up area? If we got on-scene without being killed or having killed anyone, I'd kick your silly bum out of the driver's seat and get someone competent to get us home.......

Cause all they saw was a firetruck coming at them in a 1 vehicle wide street. Immediate response is to back up and I commend them for acting so fast. Sure they could've done that but it's a split second decision and they chose to back up. It's certainly better than them just sitting there wondering what to do.

3:45 was good as you can't force people to go through red lights. So many people get booked by going through red lights to get out of the way of an emergency vehicle. The police appear to have no sympathy. You can only go through a red light if a police car directs you too.

Nice video. i never knew that appliances had that quick siren at 00:29, I only thought it was Police and Ambulance... Also it's a shame that allot of Fire vehicles don't use the good old two-tone nowadays, I in fact think it's better and more attention seeking then these "techno" and "drum n bass" type of sirens they have today lol.

All of you, for phlucks sake acknowledge that you have seen the emergency vehicle using signals. Honest Q for emerg vehicles, often I observe emergs 400-500 metres behind and take action, the dweebs behind have a seizure and go daft (just like June 2016), should I hold off clearing the road until the muppets belatedly realise what is happening?

Judging by the wobbly wallowing cab, I'm guessing this is a Scania. So nought to sixty? About three weeks downhill! Now a Dennis Rapier or a Sabre? Ooh now they could just bloody motor. Sorry I've no figures for acceleration, so you may find my reply fairly pointless, but I've heard reports of Dennis Rapiers reaching 100 mph. Both the Y-reg RS and the S-reg Sabre that my local station enjoyed for many years could both hit 90. I tried to keep up with the Sabre in my mum's Fiat Panda once on a dual carriageway. It was rather embarrassing and futile!

Don’t slow down if you’re traveling in the same direction of the emergency vehicle and pull up, accelerate hard away until you see a spot or position of complete safety for yourself, pedestrians-, emergency vehicle and crew that’s not curb/pavement mounted that the emergency doesn’t have to slow and go round you on to oncoming traffic, you’re like deer in headlights, you all go to Shit.!! Move it.!

If you go by the highway code and other official UK guidance they shouldn't have mounted the kerb. What absolute nonsense. In places like this there's no hope of getting through if people don't mount kerbs.

Cyrus Hale Truck horn - the siren's hands-free control is combined with the horn on the wheel. So whenever the driver hits the horn he/she is also changing the siren tone.

Odd route - but I guess the road "improvement" at the end of Buxton road means even emergency services have to go all around the houses to get to the south of Brewers Quay these days. Used to be far quicker and less junctions by going straight on at Alf's Chip Shop, up over Lanehouse, down Buxton Road then right onto Portland Road and left at the lights. I struggle with the use of the term "Improvement" in the phrase "Road Improvement" as it adds half a mile and lots of extra junctions.

The person they are going to is probably having the worst day of their life, or possibly even the last day of their life. Poor residents though that have to suffer through hearing a siren

I'm surprised the fire engine isn't using a hi-lo siren, instead it's using the US siren for police cars

The wires for the horn can be hooked up to the siren so you can change the siren tone from the steering wheel

It would be nice if we all moved over for the emergency vehicles ,but if you do and there is an accident you will be held responsible for the accident, and it does not mean you brake the speed limit as well. All 3 services have to drive to the laws of the country and if they get caught speeding they have to answer to the courts just like us,so do not think you have the right to mount the pavement to let them pass for you can get charged for parking on it ,and never let them bully you for you could be the next accident there is no law on the books that say you must move and they same goes with the Highway Code .

So do you have "move over" laws there or are motorists required to yield the right of way to emergency vehicles? How many accidents are your apparatus involved in each year? That was some poor emergency driving at best.

maybe you should keep in mind that "good emergency driving" is very very different in one country compared to another one. The kind of emergency driving from your country might seem dangerous to them, or to me ...
