@@cymbelineterrazas3113 I believe that 100%! I had a schizophrenic boyfriend that started hearing voices after he was introduced to Satanism. He'd wake up in fields with no knowledge of how he got there. He heard voices in his bedroom wall and starting picking at the wall to hear them better, which became so bad he needed his wall replaced. He was chronically suicidal and verbally abusive so it got to be too much for me. But yes, demons can implant themselves in your thoughts and ruin things if you don't take a stand against them.

Having served 4.5 years in prison, and housed in a unit where the majority of inmates were either lifers or those with 25+ year sentences, I can confidently say that for the most part, life in prison is a FAR worse sentence than being condemned to death. They have to watch their loved ones drift away from communicating with them, and then watch those who do maintain contact grow old and pass on with no chance to say goodbye. If they have kids, they watch them grow up estranged from them, living their lives like they don’t even exist in them aside from the occasional visit. And they also watch countless people who have the actual chance to leave squander their freedom by returning again and again with new crimes… believe me, deep down, after a few decades, they’re wishing for death

He should have gone into a psyche ward. Honestly, it’s also so messed up that his age mattered in court at all. His attorney was seeking an insanity plea…that alone should have been enough regardless of age.

Not a doctor, but it sounds like Sean may have had undiagnosed/untreated dissociative identity disorder or DID. Hearing voices, blacking out, losing time, feeling crazy, and having an extremely traumatic childhood are cumulative signs to talk to someone about DID.
Like others have said, it's truly heartbreaking that he was repeatedly ignored when asking for help, as he most likely could have been treated for whatever he was going through.
I do want to point out that regardless of his actual condition, those with DID are not statistically more prone to violent behavior. They are more often considered a possible danger to themselves, not others.
The stigma against those DID is so severe that sometimes people are scared to ask for help. If you have someone in your life coming to you for help like Sean tried to, please be understanding, listen to them, and do your best to get them professional help.
If you have DID, I love you and everyone in your system. You all matter and have a place in this world.

Bailey, you are so amazing. Not only do you put so much work into researching and preparing your presentations on these cases, but you bring your own brand of wit and sensitivity into it. I also love that you open up the case up for discussion in the comments section - it really engages your audience and allows your viewers to bounce ideas and theories off each other. I watch/listen to your content daily! Don’t ever stop doing these, please!

He did reach out for help not once, not twice but three times to three different adults. His mom and those teachers ignored his concerns and just didn’t care. Would he have still done what he did if he did get help? I don’t know, I’d like to think not but again, well never know. What I do know is that he wasn’t even given a chance to prove or disprove that question.

I'm a high school teacher, and it makes me so angry that those teachers didn't try to help. We always encourage our students to talk to a trusted adult if they need help with anything. If a student came to me and told me he's hearing voices, I would do whatever I could to help the student. And if I feel it's something over my head, I would bring the student to the counselor's office. Do something!!!!

When teachers in so many places are so overworked, I think they're hoping that a student will talk to someone ELSE, and when a student brings it to them, they don't have time. Yes, teachers SHOULD be helping, but they should also not be having so many students at any given time. Teachers don't have the resources they need either, and too often, ;ivies to increase resources get voted down. :(

@@Author.Noelle.Alexandria i fet what you're saying, but it's not just that teachers *should* be helping - it's also that teachers (at least in the US) are mandated reporters, which means if a kid comes to them saying they're hearing voices, i need help, my parents won't help me, the teacher is legally obligated to report that to the appropriate authorities in an attempt to help that child
