- I think Kenny Baker was the British Doc Severinsen. This 1953 clip shows abilities in the use of various playing elements, even though the style is different. (Kenny was born about 6 years before Doc.) This video is also a good example of how some actors just don't get how to pretend they play an instrument!
Real or not it was always a favourite film as a kid and this was my favourite part. Such a delightful movie 🥰
David, give her credit for a delicious and convincing attempt - I know I do!
By the way, I named my daughter 'Genevieve Kay' (my surname is Kay - and Kay Kendall was the actress ) and this little clip might have influenced my naming - just a bit - as I was also born in 1953, the year this film was made,
Kaye Kendal - sadly died far too young.
She said it messed up her lips and yes it was really her
Oh yes she is playing she was a a trumpet player at Ronnie Scott's
Is it ever advisable to play a brass instrument with bright ruby-red lipstick?
If the person wearing lipstick actually played like that, I'd say it was OK :-)
Doesn’t hurt Gunhild Carling
😆😆😆
Well, OK, fair point, but Kay Kendall was a lot prettier! @@TheAbfromNJ
