ABSTRACT
Architects in the enterprise are often regarded as ivory tower residents who bestow their utopian plans upon project teams in the form of colorful diagrams that bear little to no resemblance to reality. The most suspicious in this group are often the “Enterprise Architects” who are perceived as being furthest from actual technical problems.
However, large-scale IT operation and transformation require transparency across hundreds or thousands of applications running on all sorts of middleware in data centers around the globe. The very enterprise architects are likely the only ones who stand a chance to bring transparency into such an environment and who can direct IT investments in the hundreds of millions of Euros towards modernization and run-cost reduction. This sounds a lot more exciting and valuable than drawing pictures!
This session takes a serious but light-hearted look at the role of enterprise architects in modern IT organizations. Gregor is a recognized thought leader on asynchronous messaging and service-oriented architectures. He is widely known as co-author of the seminal book “Enterprise Integration Patterns” and as frequent speaker at conferences around the world. He is an active member of the IEEE Software editorial advisory board. He has documented his experience as an architect driving IT transformation in the eBook "37 Things One Architect Knows" [...]

One of the best talks I have ever listened to. It is like a wormhole one-hour shortcut to get to know about enterprise architecture. :)
I actually worked at Allianz in Vienna on software for car insurance so I can tell you Gregor is right. There are many very interesting business activities that are going on in Allianz and must be supported by the software.
One of the very few best sessions. Excellent ! Brilliant
We are currently releasing older YOW! videos to serve as a valuable archive, preserving historical content. It is possible that a video is perceived as outdated. We believe it offers insightful glimpses into the past, enriching our understanding of history and development.
@@GOTO- Thank you! This is life changing content. Not exaggerating.
The hall should be packed! How amazing it would be to be there. Best explanation of enterprise architecture I have heard
he is brilliant. his talk is like a good architecture where every word he spoke connect the whole theme and other word in such a harmony that I felt like prose. like a good architecture which integrates the business and IT infrastructure.
Best video around Enterprise architecture, thank you.
Wonderful. Worth watching video. Great content 👌 👏 👍
Interesting!! Now I get a clearer picture of Enterprise Architecture entails
Perfect. Instantly want to work for you and your team also as I would learn so much (very quickly)
does anyone else think it feels like roger federer teaching about enterprise architecture.

The Feyman of IT ....
Thanks
we can't just depend on the very authority one.
again an IT guy takes a facade an call it architecture - just stop - we need to find our own metaphors instead of brutalising other professions
Today, “architecture” encompasses a wide range of meanings, from the design of buildings to the underlying structure of systems, both physical and conceptual. The word reflects its origins in craftsmanship, leadership, and creative design, evolving from its ancient roots to embody the complex and diverse field it represents in modern times.
@@RoyRope wow, well maybe then when someone use the word architecture and show a facade (thus exposing his total lack of understanding of architecture) we can all cheer in awe
Enterprise Architecture== Marketing term to earn money from enterprises. /S 😀
