I got one of these with a taramps HD3000 sitting in a milk crate AWAITING installation. I PROMISE YOU THAT THIS IS THE BEST 9912 VID ON UA-cam. Butt I need the perfect box specs for a single 9912 daily driver. 80 pounds per sub. DAMN.
Bro you need to get 1/0 gauge Asap if your 4 gauge is getting hot quick, it’s gonna blow in no time. I upgraded mine the other day and got so much different results I’m pulling 143dB now with 1 15’ at only 900w
i have a pontiac g5 and i have a evl 18 on a smart 3k, i only have 4 gauge as well but it is highsky, i have it grounded on a bunch of washers rn cause i cant find a good ground spot, where would you recommend for a good ground spot since our cars are basically the same
Since I have my amps and batteries in the back seat my ground is located in the back there as well. your back seats that fold down should be mounted in place by a black bar the runs along the bottom from the driver side to the passenger side. the seats pivot on this bar when you fold them down or up. If I'm not mistaken I removed the bar entirely since I don't need it anymore and grounded onto a bolt that secured it down. The bolts are pretty meaty and body of the car there is pretty solid, I made sure to sand the paint off before hand as with any connection you should. You might be able to take the bottom of your back seat out and ground on top of the black bar itself and put the seat back in. That's what worked best for me anyway I may make a video of me redoing the wiring and stuff and I can show how I have it done. I just got a 50 foot role of zero guage so ill be changing all of my wire when I get time.
ideally, you should run a ground distribution block. ground bat to body, ground alt to frame and battery, ground distribution block to frame and alternator mounting bolt.. ground engine block to frame... you start running 3k+, you are gunna be running alot of current through.. factory ground straps can give out from that kind of current. the same way this guys 4gauge power is getting hot, the same will happen to factory ground straps, burning them up.. eventually causing issues with the vehicle and tripping bat lights, and engine lights on dash... power follows the path of least resistance.. give it a path lol... i have a 3k on an agm, and a d4s lto. have skyhigh ofc 2/0 power and ground runs.. i have battery grounded to body, alt., and frame.. have alternator grounded to engine block.. engine block grounded to frame.. my ground distribution block for amp, has one run to alternator mounting bolt, and one run to frame... then i just ground amp to the distribution block.. im about to run another 225$ set of copper 2/0 runs for a second 3k... another 400$ lto bat... car audio hobby will get ya... sht aint cheap..
You need to get 1/0 off asap you r gonna melt that 4gauge or possibly blow the amp nice setup tho bro get u knuconceptz 1/0 they have the best deals and it's good I only use knuconceptz or skyhigh or welding cable but if u use that get 2/0
@BrizzMoto with 8k good idea to get adapters and double the 0 gauge. I'm running 4 pos and 4 neg on 5k. No heat issues. Hope you've upped your alternator too. :)
I had a box by Alec, it pounded, sounded great, and was built like a tank!

4 gauge on 8k? Yikes.
I know living on the edge lmao🤣 I recently picked up a 50ft spool of 0guage so it'll be replaced in the near future
