It's been going on for 5 days now. Ukraine has been super defiant. Putin has threatened nuclear war if any foreign soldier sets foot on Ukrainian soil. Ukraine's president, President Zelensky has been remarkably brave. He declined evacuation by the US. He said The fights here, I need ammunition, not a ride.

I wish the GWOT never happened, but it’s soothing to know that some of the soldiers over there acted with dignity and honor. We are all human.
In my humble opinion these wars are fought over the interests (financial & otherwise) of people who don’t represent their populations feelings and ideals-generally speaking. And the propaganda of a 2 party system causes division leading to the subjugation of society. They want us fighting each other, and I feel like the world is slowly realizing who the REAL enemy of the common folk people. Like they said in so many words in the kids movie called “A Bugs Life”-there’s way more of us than there are or them!…and it seems like they are starting to get nervous that we are all catching on to their lies and corruption…
      Peace ✌🏻☮️🙏

A true American hero, and he was right about what he said. During the whole speech, he mentioned all the men he fought with and some who later died that were contributing to the mission. For those who don't know the Army, most of the time, the people who most deserve praise and medals are rarely mentioned or ignored. To explain it more bluntly, the mentality and culture of the Army is one where a Soldier may work night and day and receive nothing but crumbs and is told to man up because few people in leadership will ever go out of their way to nominate them for an award or recognize them. A system where you have to embrace the suck no matter what, but among your peers, you feel a good sense of camaraderie and can bullshit with them no problem. Ssg Bellavia knows what the Army is all about, which is why he named all those Soldiers he served with and gave them praise in his MOH speech. As a Soldier, I can bullshit all day with my battles about how sucky the Army is, but I will always love it and when its time to go, we go together.

The most telling thing I've noticed about gallantry award recipients is this...
They are almost always incredibly normal men.
Not big, not loud, not brash or aggressive, not bragadocious, nor overbearing, but kind warm personable, humble, honest, self aware, assertive and astute men with a humbling decency and impeccable sense of right and wrong.
Theyrr our work mates, our teachers, our friends, shopkeepers, mailman, nurses, welders and milkman...
    They're US.
    Me and you.
Men, women and children from all over the world, who experience a moment in time which is alien to them but which they refuse to bow to, and who fight back with everything they have.
We all have it in us.
Do yourself a good deed today, and remind yourself that you too are a brave and fierce warrior.
Visualise what you would do to defend your family...
    Y'see?
    You too are a warrior.
