Did it smell with burned fuel inside? When I was on a Y7 from St:Olof to Brösarp, the smell was really hard to stand. I started wondering if that was everyday's reality back in 1960s/70s or was it just a feat of these museal units.

Yes the Y7 etc always had this smell. Noone noticed that in the 60’s when more people smoked themselves.😄
