Jason Kennison tragically lost his life on Everest. This is his story.

An Australian man has died climbing Mount Everest in Nepal. Jason Bernard Kennison’s family and friends confirmed his death in a social media post. This interview was recorded with Jason in late March, a few weeks before his tragic death. 7NEWS sends our condolences to Jason's family and friends.
His family described Jason as “the most courageous, adventurous human we knew and he will be forever missed."

After learning to walk again following a major car accident in 2006 and then again years later from further spinal nerve damage, Jason Kennison is attempting the gigantic task of climbing the world's largest mountain peak, Mount Everest.
With a fear of heights, Jason dedicates his story and journey to help raise funds for Spinal Cord Injuries Australia to support the many Australians who find themselves in a similar situation.

Sometimes we don't know why we're driven. I have a serious respect for your open sense of personal responsibility. In my opinion owning our errors and weaknesses is all part of moving forward and growing. Not easy to do and it takes a strong person to be real about it.
