This is a bit dumb but is nuwa supposed to be ouroborus in some way? This seems a bit obvious I just don’t really see anyone talking about it, and I did not read up too much on the journey to the west
Nahh but you can say that Xiangliu is somekind of Apophis/Jormugandr. Edit: So I just found out that could be true. There's a reason she's portrayed like this: her name mean 'Goddess of Spiral' (correct me if the etymology is wrong but Nü means Lady and Wa means Spiral) which makes her connected to the cycles and the 4 directions (that's why if you own or saw a review of Celestial Pagoda set,you can find a picture of Buddha's Guardians of 4 Directions/4 Heavenly Kings: Virulakha,Datharattha,Virupaksa,Vessavana). Don't worry, this isn't in the book.Knowing the book's story (or watching an adaptation of Jisai arc) doesn't help that much in understanding this season even if "Prince Consort of Jisai" was thrown in.
Ok but, *why* exactly does she need a sentient being made of stone to fix the pillar, instead of just keep it being a stone like the other gems? This whole thing could've been avoided if said stone isn't sentient, right? This isn't some "Dream of the Red Chamber" scenario where the stone asks Nüwa to let it experience mortal life. I wonder what's the original purpose of a harbinger of chaos if he wasn't born too early (cause I know there's a theory of it,but this part hasn't been proven). It's just odd that she designed the supposed savior that's intended to fix the pillar based on the guy that wreaks havoc on the deities. It's a pretty dangerous bet.Besides,MK is anything but a harbinger or agent of chaos, since Nine-Headed Insect is the one that set everything in motion (fitting that he claims the name of Xiangliu).
