Derek, I’m sure that I speak for a lot of fans on your channel, I always pay more attention to your commentary, rather than the highlight clips. I do watch the games, so I already know the highlights. Sure it is nice to have them while watching the pod, but it is you and your staffs hard work and dedication that makes this channel as great as it is.

Abraham Toro of the A's is having a decent season. He's a switch hitter who actually does get hits, not a ton of power or speed but he is hitting .271 at the moment. He plays the non-shortstop infield positions and he is a pretty good fielder. Switch-hitter too.

Rizzo's OPS is definitely off the cliff. Have you considered playing some low music during the clips, or putting yourself in a corner window? I've seen that work for a lot of youtubers, makes the clip a different clip and hard to nail for copyright use.
Yeah we have done all that stuff. If you watch last nights you’ll see that it was in an angled perspective. I also slowed everything down by like 5% and added an LED effect. Nada. AI is too good these days
I don't often type in the chat because I watch on my television.... I've watched every live either that night or the following morning since the beginning. I enjoy watching because of your commentary AND the clips that go along with it. Its hard to watch something without the clips MLB needs to fix this. I will still watch because I have become a fan, but if I am being honest it would be hard for me to watch a new creator I've never watched before without the clips.. Maybe listen in the car or around the house. This is a major issue MLB needs to grow and is at a place where people are enjoying the game they should continue to let creators spread the sport. The sport's fans are fans of teams not the league, so having channels like this let Yankee fans dive into the game, or new fans learn more about the sport and the team.
I can recall many managers of MLB teams in the 1970's and 1980's replacing their defensively weak regular players with good fielding bench players in the last two or three innings to improve the late inning defense and make it more difficult for the opposing team to rally and score late. It may be time for Boone to replace Torres and Rizzo, at least in the late innings, to tighten up the Yankees defense and help the relief pitching.

Another downside that added up to the loss was gleyber being sent home in the earlier part of the game, who knows what that inning couldve gotten us if he wasnt waved home for the final out

I enjoy and always look forward to watching your videos after every game. Greed is killing the game, I’m not sure why MLB needs to grab a few hundred dollars from content creators.
I wouldn’t trade Jones or Dominguez, pretty much everyone else is fair game but even if it’s a stud closer he’s pitching at most 60-70 innings a year, Jones will be an everyday player who has power, speed, and fielding, I like the Miller kid but if they ask for one of the untouchables he can go elsewhere, plus how often does a reliever have a dominant year or two and then fall off

I never came here for the highlights. I think we all come here for your friendly and excellent communicative skills. I don't agree with trading Spencer Jones for Miller. You don't trade the prospect Mickey Mantle for a year or two of Mariano Rivera .

Derek, screw the highlights - we can see those elsewhere. Your best value feature is your commentary, fielding comments and voicemails, and the occasional guests and interviews.

MLB always shooting itself in the foot. They should be helping content creators not trying to stranglehold them. Meanwhile, all the money being made form broadcasting, licensing, luxury tax, and the majority of teams are either mediocre or worse. That's what's effecting the bottom line not fans putting up highlights for other fans to watch.
As for Rizzo, I wonder if last year's concussion is still having an effect?

I say this a little in jest but do you know who has 11 hits in his last 27 at-bats? Our old friend Isiah Kiner-Falefa. We know he can bring the defense at third base. The Blue Jays are going nowhere and Vlad Guerrero is not going to be a Yankee and I don't think the Yankees want any part of him. Also, Bo Bichette would not be a fit with Volpe here and would cost a truck load if Toronto even considered moving him which I don't think they will but IKF is someone I could see them dealing even to a division rival like the Yankees.

I don't get MLB for this. It benefits them to be covered by media, including new media, especially as the content people consume changes and expands. It's not like reaction channels where you can make an easy case that people are tuning in to watch a creator watch someone else's content. These are live sporting events that people talk endlessly about analyzing and speculating. Claiming revenues for literal seconds of highlights is greedy and petty. I'm usually on the side of copyright holders, but this is out of bounds for me. Either way. Still with you, bro.

A lot of people saying the highlights don’t matter - “I whole heartedly agree (Homer Simpson)” this law is such fucking bullshit. It should be a percentage or fee. Ie. 10 seconds of clips will cost you 10% of revenue from the video. Not this we steal all the money from your work bc you borrowed a few second of OUR work but we’re bigger so give me your lunch money. It’s pissed me off for a while. Applies to other channels too, not necessarily sports related.
Sorry for the highlights issue. I swear mlb cries for more attention and fans yet they do everything in their power to not grow the game

Lisa's husband, Andy here. I am an English Blue Jays fan , living in England and I enjoy looking at Yankees culture, history and results as well as the Jays. Hence, I follow your excellent channel. MLB are surely wanting to attract people like me so I will spread the word about this fantastic game. Channels like yours and Blue Jays Today do more for new folk watching the sport than the official channels do. The trouble is, like soccer/football over here, the quick buck rules over the fans now. MLB should be leveraging the visibility that UA-camrs provide instead of going out of their way to hamper them. What a strange move by them.
I just think Rizzo before the concussion was above average on the field and a very good hitter overall. After concussion even when he supposedly has recovered is that he just is not the same defensively. And now with his hitting he seems to be guiding his bat than just swinging. I just saw it that way. I love the guy but something has to happen. I do hope he can somehow just snap out of it…if that’s possible.

I didn't say he *would*, it's impossible to know that - but if you're missing one vital piece to put you over the top for a championship, I think you gotta pull the trigger. Especially while we have Juan Soto. Yanks are all-in this year.

He said that MLB used to just claim the parts of the video that had the copyright now they just claim the whole video.
