- I've made a video of how I get in and out of the bath. A wheelchair rugby team mate showed me how to do this 10 years ago so I'm passing on the wisdom! Knowledge is power.
A unique way to bath! Good job!
As a paraplegic it's not always easy to bathe so its very important to be able to transfer from chair to different types of showers or bathtubs .
my father has lost the ability to walk, i doubt he is flexible enough to do this though. Very good instruction video none the less!
super strong. wow. ur a pro
Great example, thank you. 👏👏
I would recommend people with paraplegia or quadraplegia to use self propelling commode chair with soft sitting pad instead of using bath tub. Sitting in a dry tub will easily get pressure sores deep inside and difficult to heal. Very often operation would be involved. The patient has to lie prone for a few weeks.
I would suggest that this is an extremely dangerous practice. I wouldn't recommend anyone trying the same thing. Like somebody's already said, way too much hard work when there are much easier options out there. You also got to bear in mind that you could easily catch your skin and cause an injury. You're doing it in a dry bath, it will be much harder in the wet. And I doubt very much whether there are many people with the same injury he could do this.
GOD damnit ! you are so awesome Nathalie, and here I am with all my facilities and privileges but still cant cope up with life.
cool you can do that .great performance

How do you put your tall boots on?
Im T5 and always thought I cant do this transfer..but im getting a bath after seeing this,.... Thumb up.
I just read your comment as I haven't been on UA-cam for a while and I'm so happy that this has inspired you to get a bath! I remember the first time I was shown how to do this transfer and the feeling of having my first bath in 6 years was amazing! Enjoy and thank you for your comment :)

In your weakness you are strong!
Yessss! She did that!!!!
What about your skin?I would advise caution..I was bedbound for a almost a year with skin issues, mainly brought about from softened wet skin tearing sliding on bath..despite checking daily, no sign until split.and then, when was all healed, had coupla knocks and first bath, skin split again. :-( That was using side of bath and a bath board. Maybe use a sliding sheet on edge of bath to reduce friction
that's impressive
Maybe you should invest in a Guardian transfer bench with commode opening cost about $120. It extends from inside the tub to outside the top for convenient and very stable with the suction cups.
hello, im C6 & C7 quadriplegic great video to learn from. I like your TiLite wheelchair, hope you can suggest as i used my TiLite long before, but its discontinued. Hope you can tell me which model you use because legs from knees are higher than bottom bum which supports better maneuverability and comfortably, please advise?
Nahi Mento my Tilite is a XR but I've had it for over 10 years! My set up is all tailored around personal preference and body shape.
Good for you!! That was super impressive! Have you ever fallen??
I have fallen but it's only ever been when I'm getting back onto my chair from the edge of the bath. I've just slipped between the bath and the chair in a slow slide to the floor!
Do you have to deal with spasms ever when transferring?
the more yrs that go by and the more ranged out you are the less spasms for most
noraamatthews I do have spasms but not enough to cause issues with this transfer.
You are cool. Good. I have c6-c8 and I know what it is
cool
Do you have any feeling in your feet and toes?
Hey Mike if she is anything like me then she will have no feeling or movement at all from her waist down. I am a t10 complete paraplegic with no movement or sensation at all from my waist down.
I greet the wheelchair Andrzej

Wayyyy too much work. I have a padded shower bench in the tub. I just transfer to it as I would transfer into bed. Before getting out I put a little baby oil on the sliding board then slide back out of the tub. The padded shower bench needs to be the same height as the seat of your wheelchair. The bench should have height adjustable legs. This info might be helpful to you.
nick robinson I think what she's meaning to do here is show how to transfer into bathtubs that don't have benches - hotels, spas, friends houses etc
Point taken. I stay in hotels a lot and just take thorough bed baths when no roll in shower is available. Wash my hair in the sink or use the shower hose if it's long enough. Maybe not ideal but it gets the job done in a pinch.
nick robinson this is a great tip, thankyou! I haven't travelled abroad since becoming quadriplegic so any advice like this is welcomed with warmth!
Jesus!! You are doing aerobics !!! Being slim helps!!
Thanks for this, would've been better without clothes, but thanks either way!
God is Great
maybe it is better to use two such plastic "steps"? One to sit on it, and the other to lean his hand. Sitting on the footboard, you will be above the bottom of the bath and closer to the edge of the bath. Getting into the stroller should be easier.
I am from Russia, so I do not write in English (with Yandex translator.)

This is dangerous, there is potential to fall and to scratch.
Oi linda beijo vc fala com migo linda
Looks so dangerous when getting out . Maybe good for you but not a good teaching video for others. ijs
Mz 5 I've never fallen out and injured myself. I think if you have no option then you have to find a way to do these things. All I'm trying to do is offer advice on my experiences 😀
