Frank, I've got to say that your work is always inspiring and beautiful. I don't think I've seen a single video where I felt like you were just "phoning it in," and I really appreciate that. Thank you so much for all you do.
I appreciate how accessible your videos are. You still explain things even if you've explained before. Each video stands on its own to new and old subscribers alike!
Love how you gave some time to showcase the bowl at the end. I'd love it if you did this for all of your creations. I really like to savour them at the end. Thank you, Frank.
Can you make a tutorial on how you do your video editing? A behind the scenes episode. I love the way you use stop motion and cuts.
Check out the self assembling table saw it’s two different vids one is the finished video the other is the behind the scenes
Hes done several behind the scenes videos. Also its not rocket science. Just more time consuming than most anyone else has patience for.
An Udderly wonderful bowl, moo!
Love that line, “One of the best things about this project is that it has given me ideas for future projects.” Best part about woodworking.
Another amazing build. The single larger spike really makes a positive difference over all of them being the same. The word "intriguing" comes to mind.
"If it looks right, then it's right." Sounds like Jimmy Diresta... I agree with that.
I love how these are edited. Actually I kind of love everything about them.
Darn these videos, I have work to do!
That's an udderly beautiful bowl....
Artsy and functional at the same time. I think you have a winner.
“Bed goes up” got me good. I love details like that. Awesome work by the way. Hope you and your family are all doing well. Cheers
The juxtaposition of the straight line insert and the spikes/feet gives it a beautiful organic feel...
Waste naught, want naught. And it turned out beautifully too!
The final trio of contrasting grains and colors make the whole piece wonderful!
Hi Frank. This work of yours reminded me of a great artist here in southern Brazil, called Bez Batti. He is a master at making sculptures in black and red basalt. I think you will like his work. A hug!
Beautiful, Frank. Kinda has an alien-cow-udder feel, which is what you were hinting at with the moos. :-)
Frank I’ve been binge watching your videos and I am so in awe of how spectacularly clever you are!!! All of your pieces are mind blowing and the next video you just do better!
Again Frank. You are a treasure.
Frank, my wife and I have watched your videos for years...probably knocking on 7 years now. I started wood turning at the start of his year and love it. I enjoy all your videos, especially those where you’re turning. Unfortunately my wife finds your voice so soothing it’s very rare for her to get through an entire build...don’t worry, she doesn’t make it through a Bob Ross painting either 🤣 Keep up the amazing work. Chris 👍😎
Love the video, it has a lot of the information from your back catalog of turning videos and a great final product!
Love the simple grain on this project
I like the close-up videography of this one.
i am so glad you added the moo sound. because i was thinking that looks just like an udder. nice work and very creative.
I always enjoy watching your channel.
Very original and beautiful!
As someone who likes to make a lot of different things, I have virtually no interest in wooden bowls, but I am so very grateful for your work and videos on making bowls, Frank! I’m fascinated by your bowls, your work and your videography, and Frankly, I might never make a bowl in my life, but at least I now have a faint idea on what to do should I want to. Thanks for all your videos and I wish you and your family a Happy New Year, may it be better than 2020. 😎👍🏻👍🏻
Frank, although the spikes are cartoony they do convey a sense of calm. Good job.
A very interesting project and process. Thanks!
Moo indeed. You are a very creative guy. Must be that clean Oregon air.
Thank you for all the videos this year! I still think you should make audio books. Your voice is so calming!
A fantastic bowl to hold some M & M's...... great job Frank. "Hey get in the bowl...no, YOU get in the bowl" LOL from Sydney, Australia.
I love how over time you've shown us how the mistakes and the cracks lead to added beauty
Nice...definitely had it complications. First bowl I've seen with spikes...one of a kind.
NOW I KNOW where almond milk is from! Thank you Frank.
Interesting. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day.
love your vids, great work and great animations... thanks for sharing..
Well Frank, the editing is fantastic as usual.I can see some interesting projects in the future stemming from what you did here.😊!
Udderly brilliant. Thanks for the video. Cheers, David
Subconsciously or otherwise you've made a Coronabowl, so very 2020. Happy New Year and many thanks for all your excellent vids.
Frank I could not help laughing when I heard you go mooooo. It is a brilliant art piece and stunningly beautiful.
I think I recognize the sound of Frank's tools better than my own. I should probably go do something about that!
Fantastic idea
The stop motion assembly is so fun and whimsical! I love the bowl!
Looks different happy new year
This is fantastic in every way. Great vid too, with lots of quiet, little funnies.
Udderly fantastic.
This is cool in so many ways. Really nice piece. Thanks for sharing and Happy New year to you and the family.
Amazing work Frank
That is an udder-ly beautiful bowl.
Thanks Frank, fantastic as always! I think a video highlighting where all the bowls you have turned have ended up (in your house, gifted to a friend, etc...) would be pretty interesting.
Dats udderly smooooth. and I likes it! The pedestal you used at the end for the beauty shot made it look even better.
Holy cow 🐮!! Happy new year in advance ! 🥳🎊🎉
This is awesome!! Thank you so much for sharing!!
I ❤️ this amazing bowl ! It is funny, cartoony but also so modern ! And the mix between this three species of wood is absolutly exquisite !
I wish you and your family healthy !
Happy New Year from France !
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder
Utterly beautiful !
Great looking bowl, very unusual and if you turned it upside down you could use it as a big helmet when you go into battle. 👍👍
I've heard of spiked punch in a bowl but now we have the spiked bowl instead. Well done Frank.
Your projects always turn out so clean in the end, I mean that as a sincere compliment. Nice work.
Can’t say I’d ever make a bowl like this, but I kinda like it. 👍👍 Happy New Year!
That is an absolutely ridiculous bowl and i love it!
Excellent wooden Plumbus
I like the idea of seeing the walnut circles on the inside of the bowl if the udders went all the way thru. That would be an exciting future project. Also, I love the different directions of grain moving along the bowl. Visually interesting. Very satisfying. You could try elongated pointy pyramidal legs to represent the “spikes.” Angles might sell the concept of spikes better than smooth rounded udder shapes.
Fantastic Bowl Frank!
Some great things are made.
Others are hatched!
Seeing you make the segmented ring, then cut it in half to put in the bowl, I think you should make a whole bowl that way. The glue up might be a bit tricky but you are the master at figuring out complex glueups. If I ever get back to trying out turning, I'm going to try it myself also.
Best thing about this video was seeing the process. Second best thing...the cow sound effect! Thanks once again for a great project, great video, and a good unexpected laugh.
That "moo" sound effect made me chuckle 😄👍 fantastic work!
1. "bed goes up" still makes me laugh every time
2. what do you (and other wood turners on UA-cam) do with all these bowls ???
Thank you Frank. Now Iknow how I can recover a sycamore bowl that split in half. Cheers!!🙋♀️🍃
I think he's an architect of some sort, I think I remember him saying in an older video, but don't quote me on that.
Nice job
Thank you for this idea 💡
GOD bless you
nice job .I like the bowl better with three spikes i enjoy your work
Happy new year Frank. God bless you
That was fun. Look forward to the ideas you got from this bowl.
As always and absolutely brilliant. Thank you for sharing your unlimited talents with us. Happy "New Year" for you and yours. And may Jesus bless you always kind Sir.
Bed goes up! Just made my whole day!!! It's been so long
Looking forward to next year's spiky christmas ornament.
It will certainly me make for a conversation piece sitting on the coffee table. 😄 Always something interesting and unique coming from you. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the inspiration. I've seen you fix a crack this way before but had forgotten about it. Now I can fix the blank in my drying box ( electric light bulb mini-kiln ). I also really enjoy your sly sense of humour ( spell check is throwing up and error here but I'm Canadian so spell check is wrong. Again. LOL. ). With the moo toward the reveal and the Simpsons clip. Not to mention the stop action.
Keep them coming.
Thanks Frank.
You've just created a new genre: Udderpunk, the mostest in prefixated punk!
Great work Frank! Now make it a sphere & add a lot more "Spikes" and you would have a likeness of the dreaded Corona Virus! Happy New Year everyone! Be well & stay safe.......👍👍😉😉
That's an udderly cool bowl.
Frank,,,, I have to tell you, I love your subtle humor ha ha MOOOOOO :)
Udderly fascinating!
Fun project!
Perhaps an interesting avenue of exploration might be to do some turning on bowl segments before they're assembled.
Love the three legs. Not so sure about the other spikes. Shame about the big spike too. It really stands out. I might've been tempted to try and turn a step into it so the insert is larger but the spike is the same size as the others. Great work as always, though.
Thanks for making and videoing.
Frank you are a master problem solver I really enjoy your channel. I however don’t care for the look of this bowl, but who cares what I think. Keep up the great content and Happy New Year.
Happy New Year!
it's udderly beautiful
When you're really feeling artistic, make a bowl with spikes on the inside.
Well done! Good job!! Hummba-Hubba!!! More! More!
"Cherry Bowl with Teats" - That is one so fine bovine bowl, my friend. Love your videos! #BedGoesUp
Really cool.
When you were making the spikes, it looked like a lego. Which could also make for a cool project. Giant wooden legos.
Pask Makes did a couple of tries at this. ua-cam.com/video/13QF-MEL-No/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/MqHJwx3n2QQ/v-deo.html
I'd love to see Frank's attempt.
Yes! Going to turn my first segmented bowl today, this is just what I needed!
Absolute crazy fun!
"So I used the very precise calipers to kinda just eyeball the amount that I wanted to remove on the backside of the spikes."
I swear, this sums up most of my work.
LOL...
