I used to have a 99' T5 manual with Ferrita downpipe, 3" exhaust and tuned up to 300hp...it was the best car I ever had. No other car made me smile like that
I owned one of these for 12 years 2000 - 2012 without even one major issue. excellent car. it was a lovely looking car and very fast for it day. I often think about looking for another.
THANKS MAN for the INFORMATIVE VIDEO.....I get my C70 in a Week with the Basic Motor 170HP but with only 130000km...hope that it will runs like A VOLVO should do.
Thank you for watching, I'm glad you liked it! Very nice, that mileage is really low for a first generation C70 - I hope it will treat you well. How much did you buy it for?
same color too , different wheel and front seat are electric and programmable (3 memory setting up too) , manual gear box ... at some point (city/suburb/countyside) 9.0 liters was my best for 100kms, never had fuel comsumption's trouble
They really are beautiful indeed. I would say they are quite reliable cars, and more importantly, easy to work on. They are prone to some electrical issues that can be expensive to repair, more commonly in high mileage examples. The engine is virtually indestructible as long as you follow the timing belt replacement intervals, although some parts are on the expensive side (such as the turbo) in the unlikely event that something major ends up breaking.
@@Auto_Lore thank you for letting Me know that. I've been checking them out for a while, and love the spirited aspect of this car. Saw a white one and it was a gorgeous car. It was owned by a white old man and I have almost walked up to him to ask if he was selling it. The engine is reliable huh? How quite is it? You are mentioning the electrical problems of the car. What are we looking at and is it worth it to maintain? One last question, how good is the sound system? Thanks man.
@@ubiased23 Very nice, I hope that you will be able to find a clean example in good shape if you intend to buy one - white exterior must be really gorgeous on this car and it is a rare color as far as I know. The engine is indeed reliable - it can easily reach 200.000+ miles without any issues whatsoever if looked after and it is also proven and well-documented. The electrical problems vary, but a common one is the ABS control module that tends to fail or stop working intermittently - this is not catastrophic and you can have it rebuilt for quite cheap, but nevertheless something to look out for. The sound system is quite respectable if you find an example with the Dolby Pro Logic premium sound system - at least for a 20 year old car. All in all, it is a very reliable car for the majority of owners and you can have peace of mind owning it, this includes the electrical systems/components. I would suggest to also make sure that the transmission shifts smoothly, that the suspension is in good shape and that the door window regulators work if looking to buy this car. I hope this information was helpful. Best of luck, the C70 is definitely a solid choice!
Does C70 2.4t engine and 2.3T5 look the same when you pop the hood? My C70 coupe says its 2.4t but it has the same turbo that goes in 2.3t5 and this feels way too fast for 193hp although its manual. This smokes V70 with 230hp and also goes 0-100kmh in 6.5s which is not what 2.4t gets
I believe they look about the same - the major difference between the two is the turbos. The T5 2.3 has a high-pressure turbo whereas the 2.4T has a low-pressure turbo, hence the rather large difference in power output. It sounds as though your 2.4T has either been modified or fitted with the 2.3 T5 turbo variant?
@@Auto_Lore The guy who I bought this said its stock but then I test drove it before buying and I was like "Oh hell no this aint stock" and then when I changed the turbo I searched what turbo goes to C70 2.4t and then it was wrong one and then I looked what part number does my old turbo have and then I ordered it and it is the one that fits on B5234T3 (C70's 2.3l T5)
They were, yes! However, the Coupé sales figures in the US were relatively low (6,465, of which only 603 were the T5 model), so I can imagine that they are difficult to come by these days and should be considered collectible.
Performance-wise I think you are right, in that case the manual option is probably better. However, the automatic is quite comfortable when it comes to cruising and grand touring.
I'm sorry to hear that the format of the video was not to your liking, I appreciate the honest feedback. This video was strictly intended to showcase the car without commentary so as to give the viewer an undistracting detailed look of several aspects of the car - a raw experience, if you will. I do tend to make videos with commentary to complement this in-depth tour kind, where I go through interesting features and functions of the car. I agree that some information is lacking or ambiguous with this format and I will be looking for ways to improve that in my future videos, be it through annotations or narration.

nice I got the 98 US 5 speed c70 lovely car!
I had exactly this car, same interior and exterior colour even, loved driving it but it had chronic fuel consumption.

V70 mk1, S70 and C70mk1 are know for their reliability and not that expensive spare parts.

My uncle just gifted me one ‘99 for graduating high school I’m fixing it up like new
Does it have AUX?
Nope
Is this for sale
Not for the time being.
I built them -98-00
Omg this was just terrible to watch. Please can I see how the gas cap unscrews again?
I thing you had never see a car bro wtf are you doing
Bad/slow auto trans on such an engine ruins the car 100%.
Performance-wise I think you are right, in that case the manual option is probably better. However, the automatic is quite comfortable when it comes to cruising and grand touring.
Thats why the manual transmission is good in this car!
unfortunately this car is FWD
come from a snowy country mate or maybe you expected a 4wd ?
What a total WASTE of time...can you give some commentary or what the hell is the use..we need some information not just pretty vids...terrible..
