Volusia is a great racetrack, always puts on a good show with some of the best late model racing I’ve ever seen. Joseph will only get better with each lap. Another great racing video, Jonathan, you’ve put together one hell of a pit crew..
Well that was frustrating to watch. Looks like you had no launch out of the corner at all. Joseph you drove your heart out on that one!

Good run Joseph! Need that thing to hug the bottom. Jonathan at least take a minute & show dirt daddy’s car and keep us updated on him.
You may want to add a lean out valve to the car to help get it up to operating temperature without the long, constant idling of the car to warm it up. It's what we use on our alcohol cars to help get heat in it quicker.
Joseph drove a great race. That 66 car was pulling Joseph down the straight away but Joseph was actually out driving him. The gear on that long track is critical.
That was a great learning night for you guys and I thought it all worked out pretty darned good considering everything. 9th out of 56 (many really good) cars on a new track and so many other things different than usual.......and Joseph's driving is so outstanding! I think he is one of the smoothest drivers out there and never puts a wheel wrong. When running in those large fields of cars his great driving and many good breaks are so much fun to watch as he rarely touches another car. I started watching hotlaps on DirtVision tonight, fell asleep and woke up watching Thursday's feature and shortly after that they cancelled the whole night. Looking forward to Saturday now. Hell of a good job HTF first time at the track no practice no hot laps you don’t have to hang your heads to nobody gear change is a normal thing if you never raced there with the fuel I was as surprised as you guys were never ran the stuff learned something new that’s one of the reasons I watch your channel good luck

Why let car idle for an hour?
Ron they are new to using base racing fuel and apparently when its cold it will burn the fuel off faster then they anticipated but i get what you are sayin why not just turn the car off while waitin live and learn
They let the car idle for awhile to build up heat in the engine. Can't go out an run like hell on a cold engine
I am a huge drag racing fan and dirt racing fan and some of my family including myself were in the dirt racing world for quite a few years and then I went back over to the drag racing scene with a few local friends helping them at different Events in the RVW Small Tire Radial Drag Racing And Pro Nitrous Categories But I still love super late model racing and just about anything dirt racing for that matter and I Seen your channel on here, about a week and a half ago and I've been watching all of your videos in my spare time.... You definitely have some of the best dirt racing coverage on UA-cam in my opinion and I've been waiting for a Volusia Speedway video for this weekend and getting ready to click on this one that just just popped up on my Computer

Sounds like Joseph likes that big track. Don't think I ever heard him say how much fun he was having after a race like in this video. A driver having that much fun is scary for the competition!

It may not be a win, but it is a win my my books after you didn’t hot lap, qualified 12th in group B and started 16th to get a top 10 in your first race of the year. I had a great birthday no matter what and tomorrow I get to go hunt squirrel and rabbit for the first time with my brother that looks like Joe Dirt.

Love that track. That is the gater pond. We were parked pretty much the same place we parked when we were there for the super dirt car race two years ago. my buddy tried to take a shower under the truck fill out of the pond. almost knocked him off his feet and he put his clothes on a fire ant hill. needless to say he got a surprise when he put his shorts and shirt back on haha

Man it looked awesome, it had a feel as though it was going to be slide jobs everywhere. Great run. I know Joshua was working but always good to see him in the videos as well. Would be really awesome all three of you did a post race thing together on the vlog. Joshua to me is like two characters on MASH, Colonel Flagg and Sidney Freedman, to me they were main characters in the show but, when they were on they made it better each time. So Joshua is the two combined for me. Great job again and looking forward to that win this weekend !!!

P9 after those fiascos, honestly appearing like a P6 or P7 car easily, maybe even a P5 ... but as it played out -- it is what it is!!!! Every single one of ya -- Great Work!!! Now to dial it in and go for it.
E85 - Not sure I'm a fan; not being negative but taking into account the "pros" and "cons" or "claimed" benefits vs the drawbacks/downfalls. Having the carb for it -- along with an E85 cam for optimum feed to the cylinders ... and the right plugs and correct timing; all would make sense. Corrosion, burn-rate, and moisture being a concern (humidity is an absolute enemy). Emptying the carb and spraying it down with WD40 may serve benefit ... but ya gotta be dedicated to that maintenance, not taking into account of motor internals. Comes down to choice though and how ya feel about it --

I love Volusia! It’s a HUGE Track... I remember running the Outlaw shows there in 2010 and driving off into 1-2 in hot laps without lifting, was scary to put it mildly... Scary Fast!!! Good Luck Fellas.

No that is why you go to the practice night. So you can get the bugs worked out.
That way when you get to hot laps you should at least not run out of fuel.
Because hopefully you do the entire running out of fuel deal on practice night.

It looked like his car couldn't come off the corners as well as the others. You could beat then into the corner and then they would pull you coming off. Maybe move some weight to get a little more rear bite? Is the engine bogging like it needs some more gear out ? Looks like it is turning good. I didn't notice any over or under steer. Looked like fun. Good luck. Go get-m guys.
Great job fellas.... although I don't know how you didn't realize that ethanol, methanol, alcohol....all about 2 to 1 in usage. Anyway no harm no foul on the learning experience. Still great job on the changes
