Sure do appreciate these longer videos and I’m sure they’re not easy to make. Thanks! I was wondering if you could share your fertilizing regime for this tank and how that would differ if it were epiphytes only. Sure looks to be working! Totally unrelated: Ordered one of your light stands yesterday. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for your support, buddy! It's surely related haha...! ^^ For the fertilizing regime: I do a very lean dosing (almost none) for this tank as it has a very rich base substrate nutrients. You can refer to the setting-up video of this tank for more details.
For a tank with epiphytes only, the plants will mostly absorb nutrients from the water column, so you might need to dose liquid fertilizer more regularly. In my opinion, you can follow the instructions from the manufacturers. If you notice algae bloom in the tank, reduce the dosage and observe. Overall, I suggest observing the plants' growth to adjust the dosage accordingly because the growing stage and type of plants in each tank are different. It's challenging to find a universal formula that can be applied to all. Cheers! 😃
great video and love the vlog, such a beautiful tank. at 6:20, i read that you're not supposed to use teflon tape on gas fittings? (it was on a forum with some pro gas fitter guy) any idea who's right about that?
Thanks for your compliment, buddy. I am not sure about that and I have been doing that since I started with the hobby. :D May I know what is the setback when using teflon tape on CO2 cylinder, bro? So far so good to me. 😅
@LitiAquaria that's great. I could be wrong, but I used to use it and then was told it's better not to use it because metal to metal contact is better, but then I thjnk about it there's a o ring or Teflon washer between the regulator and cylinder. Let me do some more research. But wanted to hear your opinion. Thanks to your videos, I did a scape for iaplc for next year also, or hope to. Thanks for the amazing videos
I think they have the reason to say that, buddy. In my opinion, the rubber/teflon seal would be more secure. That's why I've practiced. 😅 I think as long as it is not leaking, that's good ya! 😄 And yes, joining more contest like IAPLC or KIAC, it's good bro! ^_^
@LitiAquaria thanks for replying. The funny thing is I have a leak in my regulator. I can't find where, but I've used this one for 16 years, it was a pro built one but ordered a cheap one off amazon to hold me over while figuring out this leak. Soapy water didn't work, so will make even.more soapy water to check
Oh man. I got one of mine from OF last time got leak from the gauge itself. I brought to NA shop at Thomson Road for check and changing. It has been working well since. You might try NA, too. :D
Ow Bro totally overgrowing but looks wild . Your tank height is 60 cm , isn't it too high for a planted tank? Because the lights will hardly be reached at the bottom part , Can you please clear me on this one ?
Hi bro. As long as the light is strong enough, it can reach to the tank bottom layer, no issue. I am using Chihiros RGB Vivid II x 2 for this tank and it is good enough. The only difficulty with tall tank is that, it's more challenging to do the maintenance as our hands are not long enough to reach the bottom to clean. haha... :P
Love this tank! So the urticularia gibba gets into your tank unintentionally? I have a similar problem with Urticularia gramminifolia but its not so difficult to control.
Yes, buddy. Gibba somehow has become weeds in the tank. Once the plant spreads, it's very difficult to get rid of them. 😆 I would love to have UG spreading in my tankkkk!!! 🤩🤩🤩
Man you are one of the best aquascaper on the planet 👏.
Thanks for your support at all times, buddy! 🥰
Thank you from Canada! Really enjoying your channel and appreciate the in-depth chill maintenance sessions.
