I have returned to Doom Eternal. To cover a ton of Lore topics since my absence.
These are things brought up during Hugo Martin's Live Stream playthrough on Twitch.
The fans have asked alot of questions and Hugo gives us answers to almost everything. Along with some untold backstory, deleted ideas, hidden history and more. I went through his 13 hour live stream footage from December to end of January. To get the questions and answers that we need. As he continues his Live Streams, I will do an update video with more topics and information.

Love it I'm really glad to see you covering doom again and not too blow my own horn but It always makes me smile now hearing my question be covered in videos just shows that it was a good question to ask lol I asked about hell being an extension of the dark Lords power but it a shame I missed the last live stream as I wanted to expand on that question but focusing on more to the relationship between the dark Lord and the slayer as in are they two sides of the same coin linked in a way that one is pure negative and other pure positive but I'll have to wait until the 4th to ask that but at least that gives me time to refine the question down to the right amount of words as I do like to rattle on lol. Anyway brilliant video as a lore nerd thanks to warhammer 40k your videos are perfect for me.
I really hope we get some Doom 3 content like the Doom 3 Demon Chaingunner with his chaingun in one hand and tentacle melee in the other.

@@AcidGlow yes it's intriguing stuff! I've played Doom since the original and always loved the fast, intense action and classic shooting mechanics. And now 20+ years later, the rich backstory/lore is my favourite part of the games. Who would've thought?
@Tane Rameka yes that's such an interesting new premise they introduced in the Ancient Gods DLC. I was also fascinated by Davoth's backstory and the history of Jakkad and can't wait to find out more in Part 2. I also can't wait to see what happens with the Father now his life sphere has been destroyed and what will happen to Samur.
As for the Bible similarities, there's always been subtle references but Eternal really gave us a new perspective on the whole thing and expanded on the parallels. I'm pretty sure Davoth(the Dark lord) is meant to be the devil himself and the place where he was sent by the Father(God), known as Jakkad becomes the Hell dimension.
I rather think it's pronounced "DAY-voth". And the rock in his man cave is not a joke. He practices on it by punching it. It's a training rock.
Like a punching bag, but 10x more badass. I bet it'd still hurt like Hell (pun intended) though, even for him.

I just want to know where Doomguy sent at the end of Doom 2016.
I think Hugo stated in one of the livestreams that there'll be codex entries in the Ancient God's part 2 that explain what happened to him between 2016 and Eternal
Possibly back to the sentinel homeworld Argent D'nur, or maybe Hell, seeing as Hayden was the Seraphim and knew all about the planet/dimension. He knew the Doom Slayer would've been kept busy for a while fighting off demons and finding a way back to earth. In this time the seraphim would have enough time to enact his plans on earth with argent energy as the codex states in Doom Eternal.
Damn no one asked about the Wretch who shall not be named? And what is the difference between the Night Sentinels who wear the white armor and Green Armor.

I wouldn't mind something non-human.
Imagine a prequel game based during the knight sentinels final assault on hell. The game starts with the sentinel forces, including the giant atlans, charging through the portal to hell, to be greeted by thousands of demons on a firey hellscape. Imagine as you're going through the levels battling the hoards of demons, you see titans and atlans battling it out around you, maybe they knock some stuff over during the level to add new routes to explore or new structures to improve movement. We know that eventually, doom guy was the only one left alive so imagine seeing all of your allies slowly being whiped out during the corse of the game until you are the last one standing, the game could obviously end with doom guy being imprisoned by the hell priests to lead on to the events of doom 2016, this would add some new depth to the Silent character and make his rage all the more satisfying in the other games 😁.
Would be cool, but hugo has said they wont do anything before eternal, because of all the new upgrades we get in eternal, that wasnt in 2016, but I'd still want a game like you described.
@@jordanwright2313 It probably doesn't help that the forces were actually very much scattered about hell, according to the lore, so it was more like they were split into small squads or so at most. It just can't be as cinematic as one might hope.

I still have the theory that the Martian Ruins were parts of Argent D'Nur that weren't taken to Hell with the Well and the Betrayers Son was the one entombed there.
Good theory. If that's true the soul cube was probably used by the slayer against the demon raids of Argenta's cities. Sometime before him and the Argent's soldiers went to hell before the betrayal, the soul cube might have been stored in a fringe part of Argent D'nur or another Sentinel region that was sent to the Mars of one of the other dimensions and that's where Doom 3 occurs.
My theory is that The sentinels with the help of the maykrs found a dimension where mars was inhabited by a species(the Martians) and decided to make a alliance with them

So far of on my knowledge the wretch(creator of the 2016 praetor suit) hasn’t been talked about based on lore for a while
since there is only one hell and theres only one davoth, does it mean that the doomslayer is unique as well since he has something to do with davoth....?

Y'know, with the multiple slayers part, I could've sworn I remembered hearing someone saying that each skin is canonical for it, which then gave me a random thought: what if every dimension has at least one soul strong and capable enough to be considered a Slayer (which also gives credence as to why hell has their own "Slayer" in the form of the Dark Lord. Heck, it could even explain exactly why the Doom 3 Marine was so badass, despite it being a separate story/dimension), but it's just simply that this particular Slayer (the one we play as) was the one who wound up on the specific life path that led to him becoming infused with the Seraphim's gift? Without that power (or even the armor and tech afforded by the Sentinels and UAC), anyone else with that potential would just basically be a mere badass mortal that just doesn't quite compare to the Slayer himself (Basically like there's multiple Bruce Lees from different dimensions, but only one actually wound up being turned into a god, and another became a twisted demon king). Kinda makes ya wonder how the others tend to live their lives, or how their last stands might've been like if they resided in a realm that was unfortunately conquered.
I wonder if Hugo would talk about the creature that's in Urdak cause it still creeps my ass out.
We have to wait for him to reach that part to see if he will bring up that topic.

I'm kinda sad that the background image on the Doom Slayer's computer was removed -- I'd like to see more of his past to be honest. I'm glad by what we get to see in the Fortress of Doom, though. (That family photo is mysterious, but interesting. Oh yeah, and we see Daisy as well! /ᐠ｡ꞈ｡ᐟ\) I'm also glad that DOOM 3 is connected to to the newer games.

i don't think it was a coincidence that combining Wraith energy and Hell energy makes ARgenta energy. maybe they'll have flashbacks of ancient humans of earth being actual refugees from argent dnur, and tie it to the soul cube and how doom 2016/eternal's doomslayer isnt actually from this dimension.

I like those ideas you put forward for multiplayer, seems like a good compromise if we're not getting a proper deathmatch option.
If the Slayer defeats the dark lord does it mean he goes back to being a mortal? If the Dark Lord dies will the slayer absorb his soul and become even stronger? or will the Slayer die too?
I Think everyone is off and the new weapon has been Infront of everyone at the beginning we have used it in battlemode I think it's the green wolf.

That seems viable, especially when one takes into consideration what happened at the end of E1M8 as well as the ending of Ancient Gods Part 1.

The new weapon should be an Argent Chainsaw, it would really Rip and Tear not only the Marauder's shield but mainly the Dark Lord.
That would make the marauder too easy but only half hard for the game journalists.

I think the horde of demons would over power a Predator.
What if the new weapon is a spear that lets you pin demons to their location. Like it lets you pin a baron of hell for how many minutes or seconds so you can reserve the fight with it later.
Imagine we finally get those baron like demons from the og cover art with green blood maybe humans who aspire to be the doom marine too and is argent denur populated still? Seems so not all of it is gone

How insightful. I know pretty much nothing about the DOOM franchise. I only played the first chapter of the first game online years ago. I'm a big fan of the show "ReBoot", and among its many pop culture references is the name BFG. Bob makes one of his own from Glitch and uses it to obliterate Megabyte's mirror in a cutscene of the video game. Then, in the summer, I heard of the popularity of 'DOOM Eternal", prompting me to try it out. Honestly, though, the game might not be my forte as a shooter.
