    Hi Levy,
    While I for the most part enjoy your content, you have a continual tendency toward clickbait titles. I really dislike clickbait, so every time I see you do this I kind of want to throw up in my mouth, and sometimes I actually do.
    Then, of course, since you're a smart guy, I have to consider the possibility that the title isn't *actually* clickbait, it's just some sort of pun, so then I, with regret, click on the video (which, you'll recall, I really didn't want to do, because of the apparent clickbait.)
    Sometimes when I do this, I end up enjoying the video anyway. But sometimes, as with this video, I only have to watch a few seconds to confirm that, no, Magnus did not, in the wake of the whole Neimann thing, do something that might actually get him banned somewhere, it was just that he played some games and doubtless won them in some superGM way and you thought "whoa, hardcore, they should BAN him for that!!"
    And since this is how the internet works, others will watch them and think the same thing (more or less, I don't think anyone actually hears those words in their head, but we get the idea), and you get to continue growing your business, and life goes on.
    But it still makes me want to throw up in my mouth.
    Sincerely,
    Someone who's spent a year struggling to get above 1300 in Blitz.

    • @nivnavion
      @nivnavion Рік тому

      How else do you expect him to make money? This is his career, he may as well optimise his viewership with strategies such as this, it is not incredibly morally wrong, however if the video is entertaining regardless, there is little to complain for.

    • @nolanmaddy4085
      @nolanmaddy4085 Рік тому

      I agree. But I get why he does it.

    • @Coinwalker1
      @Coinwalker1 Рік тому

      @@nivnavion That's that really a reply. It's just a reflexive "but he HAS to do the clickbait thing!!!"
      No, he doesn't. I don't even really buy that clickbait titles get more views overall and "optimize" anything, looking at the whole graph and macro of it, because clickbait has been a thing for like half a decade now, everyone knows it when they're looking at the typical clickbait thing, which is either one word or the whole title in ALL CAPS, and it's always good if someone or some entity is getting DESTROYED!! or is WEAK!! or is CRINGE!! or whatever.
      ...Levy doesn't actually do that kind of clickbait. So, hey props for that. /golf claps here. Unfortunately, what he does is just as off-putting in its own way. Levy's style is to make the title some snippet of something someone might say in a conversation.
      That's interesting, but a title is not a chatty witticism. It can't be. The title of *anything*, whether it's a UA-cam video or a Tolstoy novel, has to give us some summation of the content of the piece. If we're confronted with "Should Magnus Get Banned?" we have no choice but to wonder if that is actually the content of the piece. We can't NOT wonder that: it's axiomatic. It's the pink elephant dilemma - someone says "don't think of a pink elephant!" - too late. You just did.
      But "gotcha!" zaps don't optimize anything. They don't communicate anything. They don't enlighten anything or anyone. And the "Pin of Shame" is cute, but it's always been 100% obvious to me that people leave those sorts of asinine comments for Levy to pin *because* his vid titles tend to be this way. People leaving those shit comments are just reacting to the first thing they see - the title. Which has a deceptive feel to it.
      Hopefully Levy will see this comment and give it all a think.

    • @nivnavion
      @nivnavion Рік тому

      @@Coinwalker1 But why should he "give it all a think?" He is more successful than basically all of his commenters, he doesn't need any advice. Besides, it is your fault for falling in to the trap of clickbait, you yourself have highlighted that clickbait has lasted quite a while in general or on this channel, you know what to expect, it is your fault for falling for the clickbait and it is stupid to complain.

    • @Coinwalker1
      @Coinwalker1 Рік тому

      @@nivnavion There's so much pointless bitching and vapid toxicity in your reply I don't know why you haven't slashed your wrists already. Levy's a grown man who knows he has flaws, one of which forced his retirement from competitive play. He also knows he has a tendency toward clickbait, and doesn't like that he does this. He mentions it from time to time. So perhaps he can take some perspective here as valuable. He also doesn't need your defense.
      Since you're only going to reply again to continue pointless, lengthy bitching that it's "my fault" having a clear view, it would be better for all humanity if you didn't bother. Shut your hole.

    In the final game where the pawn attacks the queen to me it looked like the queen could take, after going out finding the game and doing the analysis, I understand why it cannot. In future could you quickly touch on moments such as these especially as game is moving toward conclusion. There was another similar incident in another video where it looks like easy capture, but not being able to see the subsequent moves or idea hindered my understanding. Thank you, appreciate the content.

    I thought bishop takes at first glance , but that was the worst of three choices because the threat seemed to be the pushing of the b pawn. Atleast with the queen there's a possibility of taking the c pawn if the b pawn moves and taking with pawn seemed to be the best as it defends against b pawn, while also allowing the bishop to be activated once the center pawns move, which also causes a threat to the knight in a move or two to if the bishop decides to put pressure on knight which would be pinned to the queen. If queen moves then just damage blacks kingside pawns, and have a slightly favorable endgame. (random noob)
