Should've not come out of the hiding spot but most people who play Doors or Pressure always hide 2 bussiness days after the entity spawns. We need some new Rooms-type game to have a mechanic where if you hide late when the entity's raycast hit you, it will take you out of the hide spot.

@KingSlayerNiko I think you mixed up the meanings of late and early, they are saying the monster won't kill you if you hide early but it will if you hide late Which is the opposite of what chainsmoker does
