❤For me, my confidence is knowing who I am in Christ Jesus. I read my bible daily and look for who God almighty is in the scriptures. In return, I've learned how loved I am and my purpose in life. EVEN when the walls seem to be falling on me, I have PEACE. 💜😊

It's so amazing to hear the words, 'think less of yourself and be kinder to others and animals' - it feels like such a long time since this has been said. Being too introspective and thinking only positive are ironically two behaviours that can leave you feeling miserable and hating yourself. Love your perspectives, Frederique - thank you! 😘

As a confident woman, I admit that there are moments when I am not confident and times when my feelings can get hurt - and that's okay. I am human and one of the things I value as much if not more than my confidence, is my vulnerability. Love your channel, F!

The most lovely people I know are those who are give time and care to other people. They may be stylish and confident people, or they may not care about how they look, but what they do care about is other people, and they go out of their way to give back to others something that they have.

Awesome video! I am a Christian and this is what the Bible tells us. To be humble and not prideful, to esteem others higher than ourselves. To love one another, be kind, be gentle, as best as you can, live peacefully among all men. Anyway, this video was refreshing! :)

What is wrong with being proud? Lol

    • @CR-jv3xl
      @CR-jv3xl Рік тому +4

@@Myriel67being proud and being prideful are two different things. Being proud is having a feeling that you respect yourself and deserve to be respected by other people. Prideful is used in situations when one shows arrogance, conceit or vainglory and despises those they consider inferior. Be proud of your accomplishments, celebrate even the little things, but don’t be prideful.

Building skills builds confidence. Hype alone doesn't prepare you for situations personal, professional, or social where you need skills to succeed. There is a term "Toxic Positivity" that describes an unfounded and unrealistic expectation that is not grounded in reality at all. I'm an attorney who works with children in highly contested family court cases. One thing I see a lot of is parents who want to remove all obstacles for their children and do everything for them so that they feel nothing but success every day. It's the philosophy behind the "Varsity Blues" scandal where wealthy parents illegally purchased admission to university by faking athletic skills their kids didn't have to make sure they were admitted without the necessary grades and test scores. There is no shortcut to doing the work. Building resilience in yourself and your children is more valuable than trying to pretend that disappointment will never happen.

So true that most social media influencers are calculated and choose very, very carefully what they want you to see! It’s usually a big facade!
I saw one that would always buy herself a big bunch of flowers to make it look like she was sooo special and she would always hold a glass of wine in photos incorrectly to try and look elegant! 😂 I witnessed her public birthday. Only two people were sadly there, yet on social media it was made to look like a big event with lots of people there.

With appreciationof your good intention I just want to defend one psychologist you lumped in with the lame “self help” preachers who say “love yourself as you are don’t change.”
I think you have not watched any Jordan B. Peterson videos because he is known for challenging people to stop pretending all you have to do is be confident for no reason. He wrote “12 Rules for Life,” and he is famous for saying something like, “Why accept your flawed self and not push yourself to grow? As a young person am I supposed to think I’m fine as I am? Am I done or something?”
I think you will realize he is on your side in this matter of the need to look at ourselves critically (but in a positive kind way).
Thank you for what you do, Frédérique!

I really like the overall message you have put in this video ❤
I like a simplier approach to everyday life...mental, physical and emotional wellness are a priority for me, healthy relationships with my small circles of family and friends, having gratitude for all I have been blessed with and spending time doing things that are important to me and make me happy are what I focus the majority of my time on.
I do not get drawn in to the virtual look/recommendations of other peoples versions of "a happy life".
I just do my own thing!.. no comparrison to other peoples lives, looks, posessions, finances etc...🙌

People today are obsessed with the concept of “self” and their confidence only comes from achieving whatever version of the “perfect self” they have decided to chase. The less I focus on “self” the happier and more content and fulfilled I find myself to be. Loved this! Also love your glasses!

It's almost like the World is telling us that if we do what they say, we will join their club. But it's not so because I have learned by working on my self improvement process during the last two years, is that I do get compliments, which of course I appreciate but I also meet a lot of jealous people who would rather put me back to square one than allow me to be ahead of whatever social game we are all supposed to be playing.
My message is to do it for yourself, whatever you do. Then you will feel your absolute best because the outside World as a whole won't appreciate your triumphs. But you will feel good about yourself. Which is the message we often seem to miss.
    It's about loving ourselves. ❤

I found this hard to watch. Albeit in small parts to get the gist...Its a bit hypocritical to say all this when you, are a person of influence. (no doubt this is why you do you tube videos) Your appearance has changed dramatically over the past few years. Has it changed for the same reasons as these people you are critiquing. ( boosting confidence?) I think so.

I have had severe depression to the point of suicidal ideation in the past as well as anxiety, but doing the affirmations and taking care of yourself is healthy for you because you create a routine. It is a routine that keeps you from being depressed, so why not have a healthy routine? You still have some bad days, but I've been able to turn those days around in less than 24 hours with just my affirmations. I didn't buy the affirmations, however, I created those affirmations myself for what I'm needing in my life. It's a mental diet. You put healthy food into your body for good physical health, so you put healthy thoughts into your mind for good mental and emotional health. You can use affirmations to help others as well. If you wish well upon others you send them blessings of love and you can change their lives. It's a form of prayer.

It's amazing when I watch UA-cam now. Since Covid, I don't hear most of what is being said by vloggers because I'm busy taking care of my mental and physical needs and wants. Sorry Frederique. I got the gist of your message in the beginning but, I guess others have to hear the examples of the message you're trying to convey. I've learned that I'm enough most of the time. Most of the time is better than feeling less than that. It's better than excess.
