The rather tall building behind the boathouse called Bridgwater place , behind it there's a pub called the Grove Inn. Proper old pub and I had a pretty decent guinness in there last year .
What you've got to remember, lads, is that Yorkshiremen don't like too big a head on their ale. The bigger the head, the more you're being short-changed of your full pint. I suspect there's many a patron of the pubs you've visited who get a lovely head on their Guinness and then ask the barman to top their pint up.
another reason guiness is colder these days is that landlords put a lot of extra Glycol anti freeze in the water bath that the guinness lines go through in a device called a remote cooler
Boys your great, I’m as fussy as you when it comes to Guinness and you hit the nail on the head when you said how it varies so much pub to pub. If your ever around Bedfordshire, I can happily provide you with 2 hot spots where a good Guinness is always served.
@@mattloades8464 always had a beautiful pint in the Bailie, other side of town.. till recently the great northern was by far my favourite I had some unbelievable thick pints there but it went bad, I moaned a few times and said your temp is far too cold and they had 2/3 people who wouldn't let it settle, it never changed so I avoid it now, been a while since I been there. The wheels though I was happy when I went a couple weeks back! 👍🏽👍🏽
@@TrashhMack Been in the Bailie once was some great characters in there, had already had a good half dozen in Hightown so couldnt judge the G fairly! Think theres another round there the Phoenix maybe thats supposed to be top notch. Bricklayers isnt too shabby either
How's it going lads,I am Lucky enough to live in the Irish republic so good Guinness is not so hard to find, but I am traveling to the UK in November.I think I heard in one of your episodes that Sean lives in Frodsham, now as luck would have it my sister lives there so it will be where I am staying, please please, please tell me you can get a half decent pint of the Black stuff there, and in what pub.thanks a million lads good luck
Ahh no way! Great stuff. We’d say the best pub for a Guinness in Frodsham would be The Bulls Head. That’s Sean’s local too so chances are you might see him in there 🤣🍺
@@theguinnesseurs Thanks for the reply boys much appreciated, now if my memory serves me right isn't the Bull's Head on the main street by the traffic lights (this is very probably wrong, I haven't been in Frodsham for about 35years) Thanks again for the quick response, keep on making the videos I really enjoy them and jeez it would be great craic to have a pint with Sean, take her handy lads good luck
@@anthonyerlis2486 no problem at all Anthony! Thanks so much for watching our vids. Bulls Head is further up the hill on Bellemonte Road (I think you’re thinking of The Bears Paw, at the traffic lights) you’ll have to let us know when you’re in town 🍺🍺
@@theguinnesseurs cheers lads, I will get in touch and let you know when I'm heading there,I think around the 18-19th November and should be in Frodsham @20th for about 3 days.would be mighty to meet up for a pint of Guinness and if not the Bull's Head Bellemonte road will be My oasis in a desert of bad beer ,Thanks again lads, keep drinking the porter.
Perhaps because Guinness is overrated Yorkshire people drink hand pulled cask beer not Nitro keg and most of those pubs you have been referred to are cask beer pubs renown for that and not Guinness
The Irish centre is outside of
The city centre, but it does tremendous Guinness. It’s run by Irish people who know what they are doing
Do they sell Murphys or Beamish? Can't find it anywhere
I don't even drink, but yet I found myself watching this video and visiting the Duke and Drake and fell in love with this drink! Thanks guys
3:20 mark I could feel that enjoyment all the way over here in canada in me testtes hahahha. Pure magical felleas!
Lads you need to come to Sheffield. Do the Irish triangle, Fagans, The grapes and dog and partridge.
One of them was voted top ten pints of Guinness in uk
Great video! Adelphi is a pub for cask beers. Unfortunately not Guinness. Will definitely go to Duck and Drake though, never been in
The Templar on Vicar lane and the Irish centre York road are good.

Cracking video lads, looking for some Guinness next week when I’m in Leeds for the Biffy Clyro tour! You’ve sorted my night!
Cheers!! Glad we could be of service 🤣 enjoy the Duck & Drake 😆🍺
The ship leeds. The one opposite Queens arcade. Best pint of guiness you'll get

Had a cracking pint of Guinness in Psilo Bar, Leeds city centre 👌
Are you coming back with more videos?
Farrands serve the best pint of Guinness in Leeds
Try Tabula Rasa next time you're in Leeds they do a cracking pint of Guinness. Completely agree though in the City Centre it's lacking in quality.
The ship in leeds is the best guiness
I'm not going for a 6 😂😂😂
Hahaha he's a sick man shaun🤟
Went to York recently, awful guinness all over. Must be a Yorkshire thing.
