New subscriber, I came over from the hair metal guru. I truly appreciate these videos. I'm a musician and unfortunately was disabled from being struck by a car in 2016. Hair metal is my favorite genre of music. It got into it through slayers glam roots. Look at the pics on their debut and you'll understand. This content gives me something to look forward to as it is difficult for me to leave the house. Thanks for what you do. Rock N Roll.

I watched a short clip on UA-cam recently of an interview from 1990 with Pretty Boy Floyd. They talked about being called a “glam band”
So there was a stigma against it as easily as 90 but by that time, the scene was so saturated and half the bands weren’t glam! Just pretty boys playing hard bluesy rock

I'm one of the few that enjoy Celtic Frosts Cold Lake. Many hard metal bands jumped on the glam train for an album/tour cycle. Mercyful fate, venom, Hell Pantera were a hell of a glam band. They sounded like Def Leppard mixed with Judas Priest. The closest comparison I can make is thunder in the East from Loudness. Check out a song called hot n heavy. It has a similar structure to crazy nights off thunder in the East. It is on here, check it out

Metal Mike, will you ever do a video on Grunge? Lot of good music came out of it like AIC and My sister’s Machine

😂😂😂NO! Definitely some good music. I am going to do an episode about “1991” eventually and compile all the parts of interviews I’ve done where metal bands explain how their careers tanked and the scene ended🤘

@@80sglammetalcast I always felt it would make a great concept album. Call it “1991” and it’s about a young band who’s on top of the world and all of a sudden, they aren’t cool anymore and the whole album just talks about that story and how they deal with it ultimately. I’ll blast Warrant right next to Alice In Chains right next to Zep and Metallica and the Beatles so it’s all rock n roll to me!

@@charleswilson4526 Great idea! Strangely, I actually have thought about doing an “80’s Glam Metalcast” Soundtrack someday. One of the songs I wrote for it was called “1991”😂🤘
