      I'm so glad I could help! Check out the entire course. I provide a lot of insight from my years of experience using InDesign for VDP.

    I could only get this to work after pasting into a new document. Is that correct?

    Hi, is there a way to do this so the document is double sided, with the same (merfed) name on the back?

    • @PariahBurke
      @PariahBurke  3 роки тому

      Yes. Use a different page in InDesign for the back, and then just print double-sided.

      @@PariahBurke I think in this case the names need to be flipped on the back side so that the same name appears on both sides of one badge. I think the question Stuart is asking is actually how to get the reverse side data to flip, basically to fill from top right to bottom left instead?

    I'm trying to set up file cards that are printed two per A5 page, one on top of the other. There are 22 different pieces of information that is to be put onto each card. I can get it to print one per page but cannot get it to print two per sheet.
    Any suggestions?

      My video course explains exactly how to do that. Have you gone through the course?

      Thanks got it to work today with two exception. Every time I tried to preview I would get a message that InDesign had quit working and had to restart. Has to be a glitch in my system. The other whether I put the placeholders on the Master Page or Page 1 it would never use the top half of the first page. Always started with the first card on the bottom of page 1 then after that worked perfect.
      I'm not going to fret over it as it works but if you have a quick thought on why it misses the first card would be interested. I don't have this problem with making multi business cards with only a couple of items.
      Appreciated your video's. Best I have found. James

    Hi awesome video, but do you know if it is possible to make the layout on multiple pages stretch over several pages to "the side". I need the grid to organize numbers (Always 16 numbers on eagh page) - but will be printet seperately and put together after print. So sometimes it is 4 pages wide( of 16 numbers) and sometimes it could be wider in total
    I.e- If the total width is 2 pages it would be= . page 1 (on the top) is nr. 1,2,3,4. page 2 (on top) is 5,6,7,8. Page 1 (second from top) is 9,10,11,12, page 2 (second from top) is 13,14,15,16 and so on. But if the total width is 3 pages , it would be= page 1 (on the top) is nr. 1,2,3,4. page 2 (on top) is 5,6,7,8. Page 3 (on top) is 9,10,11,12, page 1 (second from top) is 13,14,15,16, page 2 (second from top) is 17,18,19,20. Page 3 (Second fom top) is 21,22,23,24, and so on.
    Hope there is an fairly easy way (and that my question makes sense) :) Thank you
    😁

    Wanting to make single one sided multi-named seating cards for a wedding (one simple design and layout, duplicated each with a different name) ... can this be done best in InDesign or Illustrator? Do you have any tips or online tutorials for such a job?

    • @PariahBurke
      @PariahBurke  5 років тому

      That can be done easily. Follow the instructions in my InDesign CC: Data Merge & Variable Data Printing course abbrv.it/vidIDVDP
