It's funny how most negative reviews about that new series seems to be done by not artists but self proclaimed audio engineers xD Thanks for actually discussing what can be done with it, still thorn if I would like to get H4e or wait and get H6e, I don't think I need more than ambient plus 2 inputs, but possibility to swap capsules sometimes instead of bringing sets of mics and cables is kinda cool
Some people are too harsh and expect WAY more out of a device than it can really do. I have nothing negative to say about it. I just picked up the H1e and H1 XLR which I’ll be doing a few videos on too. I look at what a device can do best not focus on the few things it can’t.
Good night, how are you? congratulations on your work...I'm from Brazil...if you can help me, I'd appreciate it...I recently sold my Behringer UMC 404 HD Interface (4 channels) I need a new one that has input for four channels...I'm thinking to buy the zoom h6 essential recorder... Do you think it would serve me well?? I will use it to record two voices and two guitars, simultaneously... thanks in advance
Well I don’t stress on where my volume is at when recording. Because 32-bit float is a game changer! But if you have the time to go into the mixer and set your base level to something comfortable and easier to work with. But I always start at 0db which is basically where the volume is set to by default on every channel
Thanks for this review man. I just ordered mine and it’s on the way. I just came across a comment stating that the new H6 essential doesn’t have a metronome and tuner unlike the OG H6. Is this true? I’m a musician so to see these 2 things gone, especially the metronome is pretty disappointing, but I’m hoping this is not the case?
I was wondering, since it would be my first ever recorder, the file sizes that it generate when you record in 32 bitfloat with everything maxed, could u give me an ideal? Micro SD card sizes etc?
The sizes of the files are a little bigger but I have a 128gb card in mine and could record for 2 1/2 days straight. About 59 hours so really more than you really would need. And you can use up to a 1TB card so really if you needed to record audio for a month straight 1TB would be more than enough. Probably giving you 500 hours or more of record time.
I personally like connecting to the Aux out just into input 1 with a TRS guitar cable and that’s it. I get a super solid mix from the board but another option is XLR if the sound guy has an open bus channel he can send a feed to. I actually did that for the first time last night and it was more balanced and sounded more full so if that’s ever an option I would go with that first.
Advice caution the Zoom H6 essential ASIO driver is not compatible with the windows 11 arm64 and the error reported is that it requires x64 processor. I have been informed that there is no solution for this situation. It cannot be used as a audio interface on windows 11 arm 64.
Hi my h5 and h6 also work on windows 11 arm 64 without issues. The problem is with the H6 essential ASIO driver which is not compatible with the windows 11 arm64.
Thank you for the good review. I learned a lot of new things that other reviews didn't mention.
Not a problem! I like to find what cool things I can do with a device and talk about those instead.

What did you set your outputs at, I am experiencing really low volumes especially my XY mic

I’m not 100% on that. I’m also a musician but I’ve never used it for that. I assume since the old H6 had it I don’t see why this one wouldn’t have one

@@stevenkitchensphotography9319 Thank u so much, I've made up my mind and ordered mine 😀
Hey. Do you recommend the TRS or XRL for recording from the board

I have windows 11 and I use it as an audio interface. I’ve never had problems with the H6, H5, H4N pro or the H1n

2 minutes in the video and still without any relevant information. Work a bit on ur dynamics, just my 2 cents
I was building up to it. I bet it kept you watching 😜
@@stevenkitchensphotography9319 it could be good, just a bit better pacing, no fluff, straight to the point, yadayadayada
