- ► Welcome to a NEW Florida Vlog series! In this video, we head into the Magic Kingdom for my first full day in Walt Disney World! I use Genie+ to get on a couple of rides, and after an unpromising start, manage to get on Tron Lightcycle/Run - the LATEST attraction at Disney World's Magic Kingdom. I meet a couple of characters, Princess Tiana and Rapunzel, watch the 50th Anniversary fireworks show, Enchantment, for the first time, and stay until park closing time to do lots of last minute Fantasyland rides, with low wait times.

Wow! You crammed so much in one day 😮 I just came back from a trip to DLP and am loving these WDW vlogs to help with the post disney blues! Your DLP videos were so helpful for our trip too. I haven’t reached the end of this Vlog yet but I wanted to note an observation about Sam!
You have 3 excitement/wonder levels!
Level 3. “Lord Have Mercy” as seen a lot in Travel Day!
Level 2. “Oh My God”! When you see Giraffes outside your Hotel bedroom window.
Level 1 the ultimate - absolutely no words just an open mouth. Too stunned to speak! (As seen when she notices people forming a queue to pull the Sword out of the Stone)!! 😂😂😂

The American Rice Krispie treats really are just another level ♥️🙌🏻 Loved this day Sam. Also always appreciate seeing someone get loads done in a day without being there for rope drop - as a night owl I feel like a lot of people promote this idea that the only way to do Disney is to be there super early in the morning and tbh that just does not work for me at all 😂😅

I am totally with you on never going to Disney World in the summer! I went last May and was miserable! My mom and I went this January/February and it was still super hot, except our last day where it was freeeeezing and Epcot started flooding (we had water up to our ankles!)! Florida weather is just all over the place.
Your Buzz Lightyear Lightning Lane Incident: If you watch the video closely you can see that you initially circled blue, but then the cast member overrode it and it turned green, but you didn't enter. Hence, when you used it again it showed as cleared bc it was technically already used. Cast members are pretty good about letting folks show up early if it is 5 or so minutes before.
Our first ever visit to Disneyworld was to stay in Animal Kingdom lodge, and subsequently the place we got engaged. I haven't found a more beautiful hotel yet. The decor, the atmosphere, the smell, the animals. I loved it all

Hi Sam. I am enjoying your day 2 vlog… to answer your question… the tea cups have always been there. The area with the barnstormer was added on originally as Mickeys toon town and that was redesigned to what it is today. And the area where voyage of the lit5le mermaid was built later on as well.

A little side note about the Tron ride in case you didn't know, they do have a spring-loaded compartment on the ride vehicles. So you can still have your phone on you, but just anything that's the size of your phone, or smaller can fit in the compartment on the bike vehicles

Fab to see all the rides, character meets & restaurants and the vibe of the park . I'm so thrilled that you loved Tron, woohoo! We've had a motorcycle ride in Toverland, Netherlands for years, and it's always been one of my faves! I doubt my calves will shrink enough in the next 1,5 years, but I'll be in a wheelchair/ECV anyways, so I'll probs be put in the back anyways, which has it's own perks!

Seeing some of those rides I am really worried about fitting on anything. I'm used to not having to worry at all in Paris but here I'm like 'welp, guess I really need those 1,5years to keep eating healthily and exercise what I can'. What a shame Space Mountain only takes 3, though!

Found your content while researching for a trip this fall to Disneyland Paris. I’m local to Orlando and I’m really enjoying your WDW vlogs so far. The people mover and carousel of progress are 2 of my favorite attractions in that park 🤣. The people mover is a great escape from the Florida heat and the history of carousel of progress is awesome, the technology was ground breaking at the time. Enjoy your trip! And at Joffrey’s the order is the shakin jamaican!

Yes enjoy every bit of it because what with everything going up in price, you might not know when you will be able to come again so make the most of it.

I love Joffreys Jamaican Me Crazy and some of the resort blends which you can get in resorts like Kona at Polynesian.

If you want to go to the netherlands again, I'd suggest going to toverland too. Its an hour from efteling and a bit randomly themed haha. But it also has some nice coasters like one that has bikes like tron! Its definitely not big but its fun! Its pretty much my local themepark as its 20 mins from me😊

If you want a spicy chicken meal while in MK next time, I highly recommend the Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken & Waffle Sandwich from Sleepy Hollow in Liberty Square!! It's my FAVORITE! It comes with a broccoli slaw that you can request to have on the side so that the sandwich doesn't get soggy and it has a honey sriracha glaze & comes with delicious house-made chips! 😋

If you can get a reservation, I recommend going to the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue which is located at Pioneer Hall at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground ⛺️.
I did Hoop-Dee-Doo a couple of times before Covid, and LOVED it! Would love to go back next time x

Re: Genie + im not sure i'll ever understand it. Makes my head spin - particularly with lightning lanes added in aswell 😅. I remember last time i went to Disney World when it still had the old fast pass system. So much more straightforward.
How essential would you say it is to get genie + ? As a family of 4 the prices on top of the park tickets seem prohibitive.
I have to go in July or August. As a teacher that is the only time I am of work long enough to make it worth my while seeing as I have to fly from the Netherlands.
I personally think the only reason everyone goes to Joffrey’s is because it’s a little bit cheaper and a lot less crowded than Starbucks. I tried it when I worked at Magic Kingdom. I’m not much of a coffee person anyway, but I agree, I thought it was pretty terrible and flavorless
The teacups have actually always been in that location! I never knew why either, but there is also a small Cheshire Cat themed quick service location right near there which marks the start of Fantasyland from Tomorrowland

How do you manage to keep looking so good? I would have sweat running down my back, my hair would be soaked, and my face would be dripping. I’m in awe of people who can look so good walking in that heat. Also, Genie+, $25, is much more reasonable than the €60 Disneyland Paris wanted. We would have considered it in Paris, but the cost was not affordable.

If you have things that will set of the metal detector like a metal water bottle than you can hold it out in front of you while going through and it will be ok. As long as they can see what it is setting it off.
Wanted to mention that if you don’t want to get a magic band you can add your tickets to your Apple Watch and just scan that instead of the card

Get a frozen cappuccino dream in Joffreys (frozen Kona mocha) was better but they got rid if it 😭 also you can use your apple watch in place of a magic band!

Carousel of Progress is indeed quaint but as you say …very nostalgic and a must to relive childhood visits and introduce the youngsters….
We only drink coffee but not a fan of iced coffees……Europe is much more environmentally friendly…
The USA is WAY behind on cutting down on plastic. Nightmare for people like me who have a plastic allergy and have to take paper cups,to transfer things into and paper/ glass straws,wooden cutlery.
The lightning lane and genie+ do seem to be very complicated. Provost Park do a brilliant tutorial on there use!

When I went there, the only character meet I did was Ariel, they did photo pass. Reason why I only got Ariel cause at the time I couldn't find where they were & the characters that were outside the queue was too long plus (I went in May so it was hot) I didn't fancy waiting that long. Tell a lie just remembered when I went to animal kingdom & went to have a meal there I saw Donald, Goofy & Daisy. My photos did come out a little bit blurry but not too badly

Great vlog informative as always. Would you ever take a meal back and ask for something else? Can’t stand dry chicken 😞 glad you got on tron eventually so it wasn’t exactly the same as your last tron experience lol. I sent you a dm on Instagram a while ago asking for advice travelling solo on holiday (know you must be loads of messages though so know you can’t reply to everyone). It's super weird watching that park... is like... lacking the charm of paris... The attractions are blocks with sad fronts and poor theaming with plain painted walls... Weird funfair lights... I don't know if i would be dissapointed if i go some day.

I went to Disney florida about 6 years ago & I was advised to wear thin ankle socks when you are wearing sandals, so your feet aren't at rick at getting sunburn or you feet burning
I also always advise putting sun screen on your feet and reapplying during the day. Have gotten sun burn on my feet before and can confirm it is the worst kind of sun burn! Even my shoes didn’t fit anymore.
Such great advice! I started putting sun cream on my feet about a week into the trip, as I noticed my feet were starting to burn x
