"PAUSED" Is very beautiful!
Gentle to be around with a beautiful walk around
Sounds like heaven
Found Kiasmos by hearing Christian Löffler, you really caught me. this is beatiful.
I found this by a happy accident, amazing, I know nothing about them but absolutely love this.
I love these guys ❤️ great music 😍🎶
Listening on repeat, for a second time and anticipating a third :) Lit is especially incredible to the senses.
Hey Jordan - long time no read! Nice to see you back my friend :) Yes "Lit" is one of my faves too - and when that bass comes in at 21:39 ...ooof
Fav DJ
capo daddy, el de calibre es buenismo!
Not easy to mix Kiasmos, but well done ! When I listen to Kiasmos, I can't help but think of the ambient - ethereal music of Brian Eno, Robine Guthrie and especially Harold Budd (RIP), a genius. For those who want to discover, I recommend the album "Bordeaux" (H. Budd & R. Guthrie), which is absolutely wonderful. NB : R. Guthrie was the guitarist and main composer of the famous Cocteau Twins
Yes I'm very familiar with Robin Guthrie, and a big Cocteaus fan. That Kiasmos ambience of piano and pads or strings, and the Nordic chord progressions also make me think of 'Takk' era Sigur Ros
I didn't really know them well. So many artists to listen to and discover, and so little time in a day... The voice of Jón Þór Birgisson in the "bong" track is so.......from another world ! Thank you very much for the reference.
So many artists, so little time - I totally agree! 'Takk' is a very joyous album altogether, and that's a surprisingly rare thing.. Yeah Jonsi's voice is incredible
Love the video
1:07:00 In love with the slightly darker tone in Swept
The first track is what you actually call Intelligent Dance Music!
Man, I am absolutely fucking stalking you at the moment! If it's not The Field and Calibre, it's Kiasmos! The whole Nordic vibe just makes perfect musical sense to me. It's like those xmas cards that say: peace & joy - that's what I get from Kiasmos. I've loved their stuff for a couple of years now, but this really is the perfect blend. I warmly applaud you, sir! This is a wonderful mix.
Lol, stalk away Vanojoh! Thank you, I'm delighted you're finding more to enjoy here :)
Yes, there is definitely an underlying vibe to a lot of Nordic music. Kiasmos make me think of mid-period Sigur Ros ("Takk" era - if Sigur Ros had chosen to make dance music!). There's a lot of emotion there, and the way Olafur's piano has been recorded is remarkable. Glad you like 👍😀
@@TheDaddyO44 If Sigur Ros had made dance music? Ha! I actually stopped listening to them after (), so I don't know their mid-period stuff. (The best band ever for, like 15 mins, but after hour an hour I was always thinking "enough already") Still, I kind of know what you mean.. Nils Frahm is another one in the general category, and he's worked with OA, of course. He's generally a bit more glacial (and more serious), I'd say, although something like 'A Place' is fairly close to Kiasmos. I think that track ('A Place') is quintessentially Nordic. That really is the vibe I'm talking about.
Oh man yeah, () is beautiful but it is a long, slow, heavy slog for sure. 'Takk' is far brighter and full of musical gorgeousness, very cathartic and uplifting (although still over an hour long).
"A Place" is a lovely piece indeed. That quintessentially Nordic feel you talk about definitely has something to do with solitude and reflection imo. I actually have that album, must give it another listen 🎧
SINGULARITY
Good work!
soothing relaxing and awakening
Another beautiful mix you've put together. Would love to hear your take on a Gidge mix. Atmospheric on another level
sick mix, daddy-o!!!
@@TheDaddyO44 The combination of the trippy orb & shots of Switzerland make me think of Albert Hoffman, the guy who discovered LSD 😃
Yeah he was on a bike when he 'came up' for the first time! Boards of Canada made that track called "Happy Cycling"...🤪
@@TheDaddyO44 I read his autobiography, super interesting guy! The first clinical use of LSD was in my hometown of Saskatoon, SK, Canada from 1953-1968. I actually met one of the patients from those days, he had apparently been an alcoholic and they used acid to help him quit.
@@benmoreau6899 Wow, that's really cool. So much could have been done to help all kinds of addictions, PTSD, Schizophrenia... if medical use had remained legal
Pretty sure I have a Kiasmos album lying around but can't remember anything from it. Will be interesting to hear if something familiar crops up during this set!
Your channel makes me want to buy UA-cam Premium.
Lol cheers Camila. The ads are a pain I know, the artists publishers run them so there's nothing I can do unfortunately
Ha-ha! I've done it. Worth the money, at least for me. Bloody daft that you have to pay to cut out the crap, but hey - I just want to focus on the music. There are worse ways of spending £10 (or whatever it is).
Commenting just to feed the algorithm and get you more attention. Love your mixes!
Much appreciated Patron Willis cheers! 🙏🏻
