  • Modern aircraft are controlled with the help of so-called fly-by-wire systems and flight control algorithms. These significantly reduce pilot workload and increase safety by means of envelope protection features. This video clip presents the current development process of modern flight control law algorithms at the DLR Institute of System Dynamics and Control (DLR-SR) - starting from the idea, various simulation trials up to full-scale flight tests. The presented method of „Incremental Nonlinear Dynamic Inversion“ (INDI), increases robustness and tolerance to system failures, without increasing the complexity of the algorithms.
