Messmer is definitely up there in the top 5 imo. The bosses that are in the top 10 or 15 are so close to each other it gets really difficult to put who's above or below who because they're all so good. Messmer is one of the few bosses in Elden Ring next to Morgott and Radagon who I actually want to keep fighting because his moveset is so cool and satisfying to play against. The Messmer Assault weapon art is easily one of the most satisfying things to dodge in Soulsborne. Messmer also has great lore, music and cutscene which helps him gain more favour imo
Messmer vs Gael is a crazy hard decision. I personally never found Starscourge Radahn to be that good of a fight, it's good sure. But probably wouldn't even break my top 10.
Im glad im not the only one. Rhadan is super cool: his lore, his character design, the buildup, and just the sheer epicness. But the fight itself I find not great. First, the run up to him is just tedious. And I think summoning NPCs for the fight loses its savor after your 4th or 5th attempt. The arrow trail that follows you is just annoying and unintuitive to deal with because you cant just outrun it. And then the whole fight is "get in your horse-get off your horse-get on your horse-get off your horse". Not to mention Rhadan is just very large and I'll often be hit by attacks off screen while im staring at his kneecaps 😂
@austin0_bandit05 I only really need the horse on the run up, after that I leave torrent out of it (besides dodging the meteor). I guess you can tackle him in different ways, personally I found the patterns and attacks pretty fun and engaging so that on top of the atmosphere is 💯
@@AsadAnjum Radahn was just too easy after the nerf. With summons the battle is a joke. When you're fighting him solo it's a substantially better fight but that intro gets old really quick.

No way Mogh Lore is better than Lady Maria, her music fits her sooooo well and her lore is my favorite in the franchise. Not to mention she gets character development by entering phase 2. It’s so perfect. I recommend looking into her lore.
@mattia_muggeri I know Maria's lore (though it's been a while) but mohg/mohgwyn palace had pretty great lore in the base game and it got boosted with the DLC. Although I could go either way with it, a lot of it is up to memory which can effect things. I debated Bayle/Sir Alonne's presentation and in hindsight that was such a landslide it's not even funny lol. Also Abyss watchers phase 2 almost entirely slipped my mind making this and now I kinda wish I put them over fume knight

Radahn only had his hitboxes adjusted, the damage nerf was reverted. Janky hitboxes are not a fun and fair kind of difficulty. I think alot of people talk about "pre-nerf Radahn" without knowing what it actually means.
@revengance4149 was the damage nerf reversed? That's surprising to me ngl, maybe I haven't played him since it was reversed? I know I fought him again a couple times straight after the original nerf so idk. Fair to say if only the hitboxes are ultimately changed then post nerf radahn > pre nerf cause I agree, bad hitboxes is not good difficulty. Either way I just remember my first experience being my favourite, so I based this on that version
@@AsadAnjum yeah it was written in the patch notes after the nerf that the damage reduction was on accident and they thus reversed it. the hitboxes and maybe being able to dodge the magic arrows with Torrent were kept. even then dodging the arrows with Torrent is very difficult so most people will just get off their horse, dodge the charged arrows and then get on the horse for the arrow rain and shotguns. I also often find bosses easier on later playthroughs because I already know most of their moveset. sometimes you think you're overpowered when your actually just pretty good. You can also fight him at a lower level to still get a challenge I think it was the patch that came out on april 4th 2022. It's kinda confusing since it says that the reverse in patch 1.03 but it also says "Fixed a bug in the balance adjustment of the boss "Starscourge Radahn" in update 1.03, in which the power of some attacks was unintentionally reduced." making it sound like the unintentional reduction ie the nerf was patch 1.03. still a hard nerf for his best move where he chuck the floating rocks at you, before the nerf you need a perfect dodge, nowadays you can just strafe it with horse back and get away scot-free
Why did you leave out Radagon/Elden Beast? I understand that the mechanics of the fight is not the best but the lore and lead up for the fight is personally one of my favorites
@hunterisunlucky8095 too inconsistent imo. Didn't feel like I could count it as 2 separate bosses, and combined they both have different things I don't like (on top of some stuff I do ofc), personally it's not my favourite but it's not terrible by any stretch. I can understand wanting it here tho
How did lady butterfly and gyobu make the list over Isshin Ashina and the monk? Also seems weird that handler Walter and Ayer didn’t make it. My top 5 would probably be Sowrd Saint Isshin, Mohg, Gael, Demon Princes, and Genichiro
@swootproonce634 I didn't want 2 versions of Isshin so I picked the better of the 2. Monk might be an oversight tho, True Monk probably should have made it over Gyoubu ngl Been seeing more Demon Princes love recently and its confused me cause to me they're lower than a good handful of DS3 bosses. Either way not a bad list, but you're gonna HATE what I chose lmao
Random side questions. Did you use AI for the seeding or just a randomizer? Did you consider breaking it up into 4 regions and just figured 2 would suffice?
@Lloyd00 I used AI cause I wanted the seeding to- at least loosely- reflect general sentiment with the bosses, instead of being completely random. But I also didn't want to set the matchups up myself cause I'd have too much bias. So it felt like the best option Yeah march madness has 4 regions so I considered it, but that's also cause of how the divisions work. If you split it into 4 it's effectively the same thing as splitting it in 2 if youre just jumping straight into a tourney, I guess it could add minor changes to some matchups but didn't seem necessary
I replayed ds3 after elden ring and while I went in thinking ds3 bosses were better, I actually think the opposite now. The bosses are much easier than Elden ring, it is somehow easier to get overleveled, bosses are easy to first try (haven’t played ds3 in over 2 years) and midir took me the most attempts (7) compared to the hardest Elden ring bosses took me 50-100. @@AsadAnjum well get on it, it s complete peak and changes a lot through ng + cycles including the best boss in the game
@tobusygaming467 yeah these comments are really pushing me to want to play a few NG cycles. Ayre and Allmind look pretty insane
Ok i respect the opinion but lady maria is not beating mohg
I'm also sick of Ludwig like yea his music is good but his boss fight is just ok it ain't that great people glaze the fuck out of ludwig
Thinking we don't know what a march madness bracket is cus we're souls nerds is racist
The seeding is so bad
Consort redahn isnt that hard bro. I beat him in 40 seconds without summons or spirit ashes at level 195 i believe. Honestly not even in my top 10 hardest souls bosses
There’s no way you did that without a broken weapon
Bait used to be believable
