Update on Stoppage on Grand Union Canal Leicester Section

Now drained, work can begin on repairs to the stonework that supports the Towpath. This is Bridge 36 Little Moor Lane between Loughborough and Barrow upon Soar.

The stone on the canal bed is likely from the previous repair.

Typical set up, excellent temporary works, the amount of navigators who ‘can’t navigate’ is staggering. Last May a wide beam was stuck under bridge 9 on the T&M for hours… the damage to the bridge and boat was minimal, but damage all the same …

@ bridge 47 on the Ashby, that nearly got me last year… working on the rail, when we have a bridge strike it’s a major incident.
