I enjoy your point of view on this book and that you have done a book from where I live. I'm from NZ and currently doing a paper on Janet Frames book "Owls Do Cry". Keep going :)
Awesome! It was a pleasure to read and discuss this one. I wish you the best on your report! There's so much to explore in this book. Thanks for commenting!
Damn this became immediately one of my favorites books of the year, thanks for making me discover her works! I found this book in some ways similar to The Sound and The Fury, by William Faulkner (one of my favourite books ever)
That's so great to hear, Raptor! I enjoyed this one very much as well and it's one of those that is staying and growing in the back of my mind as I continue reading more books. I have not read Faulkner yet, but when I do, I will make sure to start with The Sound and the Fury.
Good on you for committing to read Alan Paton’s ‘Cry, the Beloved Country’. We should all, in these troubled times, read that South African classic…! 📚

@@1timbarrett Yes I'm still planning on it!
I’ve recently decided that the Nobel Prize is a bit hit-or-miss, if Borges never got one but the Swedish poet Tranströmer DID. 😮
@@1timbarrett Not to mention Bob Dylan...
Allahabad University Wale like kare😅
I though the surname ‘Eyre’ was pronounced like ‘air’, as in Shakespeare’s character Ariel…? 🤔
Sorry, ‘thought’ 😞.
@@1timbarrett Yeah I did not know how to pronounce it at this time.
