Being bad at games is understandable. Being bad at manners is not.
That's what happens when you're chronically online
@@st.haborym Well said. I've met too many people who are always on their phones and have forgotten the niceties of communication.
I was watching a streamer from a smaller company play Minecraft and some AH was chatting "skill issue" at her every 10 seconds cuz she was new to the game. MINECRAFT. Right about the time I was calling the dude out he finally left or was muted or banned.
Bad people are really ruining everything for the rest of us.
They're the equivalent of Karens and they're oblivious of that.
@@NormanReaddis True. Like games are played to have fun anyway but those kind of people just ruins it for the people who just wants to have fun. Its not like a moba or fps that is super competitive like wtf.
This happened to Reine too. We lost VODs over this. Please be nice people.
Oh damn, I had no idea about that one. Which game was it? Is there a clip where Reine talks about it?
@@cianreal Elden Ring, we lost a bunch of Boss fights cause people were ass
@@jayoliver3568 She stopped playing Lies of P, too, despite her saying she enjoyed those games.
I also remember Pekora complaining about the same thing in her Elden Ring streams. I'm not sure what's in these kinds of games that it attracts the worst backseaters in history to chat.
@@jayoliver3568
Ah damn, I should have guessed it was the hardcore FromSoftware community, especially with all the pushback on something as simple as a pause button. I know it's just a vocal minority, but they're so damn loud about it - as if any eventual satisfaction is worth all the harrassment.
@@senny- I feel like those are the people that never got any positive reinforcement when they were younger, so now they feel like they have to prove that they are better than everyone else by accomplishing difficult tasks (in this case, Elden Ring). When they see other people doing the same thing as them, but not to their level, they have to belittle others so they don't have to deal with their own insecurities.
People did the same shit to bae when she played cyberpunk 2077 and we lost out on what would have been a fun playthrough
Aww man, that was actually a fun stream.
Oh is that why she stopped? Darn. I still have that vod somewhere in my watchlist.
I really dislike the fact that people have turned gaming into some kind of hyperfixated optimization activity, instead of just FUN. Sure there's a perfect or optimal way to play it but why give yourself an aneurysm forcing a streamer (who's also has her mind on at least 3 other things) to find it? Smh
@@franks777_KFP The dumbest thing to me is that these people come to someone's stream, who plays the game they wanted for a long time in the way they want to play it and those fuckers complain about it and backseat like someone is gonna die if they don't play the way THEY want. Like come on, it's THEIR stream, THEY are playing it and they do it how THEY want to. Why not just play it yourself at this point. It's the same thing as driving a car and you have passengers who don't even have driver's license tell you how to drive.
A fucking rpg where you’re meant to roleplay? Not everyone likes to minmax. Those people would actually be irl cyberpsychos
@@GTRaijin fr though, like I get it that it can be painful to watch someone have no idea what they're doing but I'll never understand why they go out of their way to complain when its their first time ever playing the game, like they gotta learn in their own way and pace.
hardcore fans shooting themselves in the foot is an ol' tale that has been told for many years. It annoyed me when DOOM fans were telling the Hologirls how to quick switch and do all these combos and shit like they been playing for years when they've just started.
All it really does is turn you off from the game entirely and in some cases may even lead you to dunk on the game just to spite them.
@@gekirobo8720 sounds like a lot of Game Journalists had this happen with Souls games
@@chriswihulugame journalists are supposed to give an objective opinion and they hated on the game without giving it a chance. The difference is they invited the hate. A streamer is not inviting that, especially not Nerisaa. So no they are not the same. Game journalists are mostly just toxic sjw failures, which is why they garner so much hate. At their core, they are liars and hypocrites
Same I remember they tried that with mouse when she started elden ring just told all those people to suck her balls 💀
Then another guy I watch just roasted chat bro even hit a middle finger jumping jack 🤣
@@chriswihulu That's a little different. Their problem is that they're reviewing a game built around being really hard while not liking hard games. Same thing with the cuphead guy.
Imagine your oshi playing your favorite game and then you proceed to bully them out of interest in it because if they're not playing optimally, they aren't "properly" playing the game. This happens far too much. Just let the girls play how they want like anyone else.
the actual fans aren't the ones doing this unfortunately
@@TM_0153 let's not "True Scotsman" fallacy our way out of this one, man. Not saying it's easy to police chat, but we should do better to discourage backseating
@@MintyPolaroidagree the first point but cant abide by second part.
Being a fan is a consequence of enjoying a hobby not a duty. People should be there to watch and interact with Nerissa, not to police a chat.
If really necesary that should covers job not ours.
i generally don't watch my oshis play games i enjoy for this explicit reason. it drives me crazy watching someone playing a game you love and struggling to learn the game mechanics even with a tutorial, so i just tune into something else becuz i refuse to be an insufferable backseater.
Nahh
This is like when Fauna had her playthrough of The Outer Wilds last year. She's probably not going to play the dlc because of the commenters 😓
Which is a bummer. WHS was hilariously frustrating. Love that she went back and made a video about it XD. good times
She recently said she will be playing it offline in her own time if the desire strikes her re: the dlc
That one really hurts. I loved her playthrough and the fact it was old school recorded lets play probably made the game better for her and more enjoyable to watch. But then the youtube comments... I know it is hard for creators to not read them but man I wish people were better with them. Not the first time youtube comments ruined something I enjoy and probably won't be the last :(
dang. last i'd heard she was game to do another offline classic LP-style run of the DLC someday, but if comments turned sour after that, then yeesh.
Tbh, I couldn’t tell if she was doing a bit. It was a pretty funny meme at the time, I kinda thought that’s what she was going for.
People also need to remember that the streamers' attention is divided. They're not just playing the game. They're playing the game, reading chat, monitoring their equipment, and trying to be entertaining. Of course they're going to make mistakes and miss obvious things. They're trying to juggle multiple things at once.
Honestly this can be the same with a lot of people who use games to make content, not just streamers. Arin Hanson has made it clear that he considers Game Grumps a comedy show, so the focus is often on the banter and humour first, and the gameplay second. Even many LPers, who have the benefit of prerecording and edits, will be trying to balance explanations, storytelling, and a gameplay. The medium is entertainment, and the games themselves are only a part of that.
A lot of people never knew that most streams are 70 percent try to entertain chat 30 percent game
Even Vtuber VPSO is less playing and streaming competitive games now. But of course they're still playing these games because they're virtual esport
@@AsterBTT Arin is usually the first person I think of when it comes to this. He's much better at games than most of the people who say he sucks.
I grew up very low income so I didn’t have any access to consoles or a decent pc to play video games. Now as an adult I’m just starting to play and I’m bad. I can’t imagine trying to start a new activity and just having hundreds of people yell at you for not being magically good at it.
gamers are exceedingly entitled and for some uknown reason think that basic gaming skills are some inherent evolutionary trait and not something they learned when they were kids and sucked too
I genuinely seek players out like you and ask if they need help. I’m pretty could at game and even hit top ranks in some competitive games, but I get far more enjoyment from seeing new players have fun. Here’s to hoping that you can find hours of fun in gaming !
Another thing people don't seem to understand is that "gaming skills" often don't really transfer between different games. Someone who has lots of experience with Stardew Valley or Valorant is not going to be better than average picking up Civilization or Elden Ring. If you find a type of game you enjoy, nothing wrong with taking the time to get good at that before you try something new, even if it's *the* popular title at the time.

"Get Gud" right? On the first game's, first blind playthrough, first experience, and first of everything. But "Get Gud" right?
My bad. People should've known how to play the game, before you play the game at first playthrough and first experience. Whoops.
Should've just know the buttons before you even launch the game. Should've known this ultra-meta build before you even downloaded the game.
@@Asriel_Cypher You mean you don't have the mechanics, maps, and abilities memorized before the game is even released? How can you even call yourself a gamer at that point? xD
@@wel00001
Right? Casuls. I swear. You have to know the future first, scrub. 😂 That's how you should be, Gaemerrr.
i get it but there is something really funny about calling other people terminally online because of that when we are here in the comment section of a clip of an anime girl streamer complaining about backseaters.
I remember when chatters got so toxic during ames witcher streams she quit outright.
some people just don't have manners at all
I feel like streamers need to use the banhammer a lot more liberally, seriously Hololive should get her some moderators who just time out and ban all the jerks.
That doesn't help and never will help. A streamer can read a message just as fast as a moderator can, there's nothing you can do about that other than putting like a 10 second delay on your stream, but what streamer wants to do that? You don't want a chat that's 10 seconds behind and chat doesn't want that either. You can ban as many backseaters as you want, new ones will always filter in, moderation is NOT the problem.
@@SolaireIntensifies "Moderation is NOT the problem". You're right, it's the solution. Bad actors keep filtering in, then they will continue to be filtered out. You think moderating is a one-and-done sort of thing? No. The whole point of doing it is to constantly police the community to foster a positive and healthy environment. Do you also think we should stop tossing criminals into jail because more are just gonna crop up? Do better.
@@SolaireIntensifies A streamer I watch on twitch has a strict no backseating/spoilers rule and anyone who tries is instantly banned. Everyone knows about the rule and knows what happens when it's broken so it's extremely rare for it to happen at all even with thousands of viewers. The threat of a ban on its own is enough to dissuade a lot of people.
That can work for a smaller indie vtuber. Definetely not for someone with the viewership of Nerissa.
You'll risk ending up with a bunch of trigger happy mods that make the chat experience too rigid and less enjoyable for everyone because it increases the number of people getting erroneously flagged and timed out or banned. And it won't filter out completely those people because they'll just make another account.
That's why I personally enjoy chats that are completely unmoderated like Gura's or Korone's much better than heavily moderated ones like Marine's.
@@Shendue Right, and I’m sure Gura’s chat being unmoderated is just great for her and in no way contributes at all to her habit of only streaming 2-3 times a year if we’re lucky.
If I remember correctly she was also very tired or even sick on that first FF7R Stream, so most people just told her it's okay to rest and play it another day, she kept going for a bit and then stopped.
Personally didn't remember how many people were trying to backseat her, but I totally get that it'd suck. Especially when you're literally just trying to understand the controls. Also tbf that is a Game that's probably better experienced by taking your time and going through it at your own pace, with concentration just on the Game and not on Stream too, so I understand her decision
I exactly remember this too, because I saw that stream live too - Rissa said she was exhausted, so didn't want to read tips (how to play), etc. And yea, I saw those comments criticizing her, but I totally relate to Rissa: to this day, I have always been the PC gamer. The only console that I owned was a clone of Famicom, so like 20 years ago. I wouldn't know the controler's buttons either.
It was a sad mix of those 3 things: being exhausted + not being used to a completely new gaming system + some commenters without empathy (even though the vast majority was behaving properly, even I could observe several idiots; this alone wouldn't be a problem, but combined with the other 2 reasons, I can see it).
That's how most tripple A story focused game is.

@@ZoRowArk3 the tech issues before and during the stream didn’t help either
But…skipping the tips/tutorials on stream is like feeding those backseaters no…? Isn’t it clear as sky?? What does she think to happen other than that? If I were Nerrisa I would just postpone the stream. Am I crazy here??
I like seeing what they do, funny situations happen that way
I find people who are really bad at a game equally as entertaining as people who are really good at a game. It's fun to watch people fumble and struggle their way through just as much as watching someone who's very knowledgeable do really cool things that take advantage of all the games mechanics. I don't understand people who watch streamers then want them to play the game exactly the way they play it. Just go play it yourself then at that point. A good example of this is the MGS games. Watching a new player murder hobo their way through triggering every alert is hilarious every time.
For those who purely wanna watch, there's always world of longplays
I prefer if the streamer is not an expert. A lot of times I am watching a game I am not too familiar with, so seeing them learn and figure it out helps me if I ever attempt it
I can feel a bit frustrated when a streamer is obviously missing stuff that is interesting in the game or doing very obvious mistakes. I'm mature enough not to point it out by being rude, but personally I don't particularly enjoy it, save for when it's so pon that it gets positively funny.
To everyone his own, I guess.
@@Shendue too true man especially if it's a game I love like DMC it gets hard not to chime in with pointers as the streamer flops like a dead fish (Sorry Gura)
Ye i mean game grumps made a career at being bad at games but there commentary and personality are awsome lol
People seem to forget these girls are entertainers who need to do a lot of multitasking, not competitive e-sport players that can just hyperfocus and let a football commentator give the fly-by's or whatnot.
I really feel like Esports just tainted the gaming community. I've never been able to enjoy Esports. I don't find it entertaining and I hate how so many gamers perception of what's "right" is inescapably based on how professionals play. Completely spitting on the vibe of recreational gaming.
Exactly. I've streamed before, just for friends, and even with that small audience of people who I personally know, it changes your experience with the game. You're paying attention to how entertaining you are, you're vocalizing more than you normally would, which in itself is distracting. You're reading comments and making sure technically everything is running smoothly, and it's much more frustrating getting stuck because you don't want the people watching to get bored. I remember being stuck on a stupidity easy puzzle in the RE2 remake because half of my attention was on how boring it must be for the people watching to see me trying to solve it, which in turn made it take longer. And that was just for a small audience, these girls do it in front of thousands of people, some who show up just to be negative.
I think the people who give them crap should really give streaming a try for themselves and realize that it's not as easy as it seems to juggle high level gameplay with being entertaining.
Exactly. why does every game need to perfected to be watchable as a stream. Sure, seeing Aqua or Doki go ham in an fps can be entertainment. But just slowly progressing through nier automata and discovering stuff also is. I swear people gave only watched esports or speedruns and forget that's not how normal people play.

To me I don't mind if Nerissa sets special requirements on her streams so she can enjoy learning new things she has never experienced before. I hope Rissa, her senpais, manager and staff can find ways to make it so, just like how sometimes Suisei does it (if the staff did it before then they can make it work on behalf of their other talents).
She's going to missing out in a lot of things - its going to be layers of regret in her part, but to feel pressured by "14 year olds" (mindset or physically teenagers) its understandable cause on her streams she does want to interact as much as possible with her chat pretty much like Raora.
Even on the side of Raora during the Elden Ring stream, I'm glad she can handle it well but there were some random comments despite the pinned comment for herself setting the "gentlemen's rules" there are still "14 year olds" who will comment negatively on her choices on how to play the game (which I'm glad she was able to ignore them, cause the Chattini knows - she reads all the comments in real time even especially in noticeable in Minecraft streams).
I hope Nerissa that you can look for ways to make it where you can enjoy this with your Jailbirds. But take your time - we will wait for you.
Yup. Tbf those people can't read either. Ong kids these days are just so dumb.
> I hope Rissa, her senpais, manager and staff can find ways to make it so, just like how sometimes Suisei does it (if the staff did it before then they can make it work on behalf of their other talents).
I'm not familiar with what Suisei does--is it just restricting chat to subs of a certain age/members only chat? Increased moderation? I tried to Google it, but the results weren't very helpful.
I read an interesting doctorate thesis recently titled "Conceptualizing Toxicity in Women Twitch Streamers’ Communities" (obviously backseating happens to all streamers, but misogyny adds another nasty layer on top). It's pretty long and they use three streamers (Pokimane, PaladinAmber, and Dexbonus/Dodger) as case studies to show the effects of different strategies employed by streamers and their moderation teams using quantitative analysis of chat messages. Dodger had the least toxic chat, and she was able to achieve this through a set of explicit and fairly exhaustive rules, consistent and transparent moderation, and clear and frequent explanations from the streamer. Preventing backseating in particular is a strong priority for her, and one of the things the study points out is the effect of behavioral imitation. That is, if you go into a chat and see people being supportive and not backseating, you will pick up on the vibe and likely tamp down on the impulse to backseat, but if you see people being toxic and backseating, you will feel more free to let loose any latent toxicity.
I'll be honest---while I've followed Hololive through clips and such on and off since 2020, it's mostly been over the last year and a half or so and I rarely get the chance to catch streams live, so there's a lot I'm still not clear on in terms of the culture and how things are run. One thing that has struck me is the dearth of visible moderation, especially when I compare it to Twitch where streamers with similar viewership to Holomems would likely have half a dozen or more mods active in any given stream and even streamers with a few hundred concurrent viewers will have one or two kicking around.
Is there a limitation to what Hololive allows, or is this just a choice taken by most of the members? I could see how a company might not allow its talent to engage in particularly heavy moderation if they think it could cause backlash or hurt revenue (the extreme example of this is K/J-Pop idols apologizing for having normal human reactions to toxic fans and antis), but I have no idea if that's a factor here. Conversely, I could see how the company could be concerned that allowing fans to volunteer moderate (which is usually what happens on Twitch, although some of the largest streamers have paid moderators) could lead to closer relationships with talents than they feel is safe or appropriate. Finally, I can see how the members themselves might be concerned about limiting their own growth or inadvertently triggering a backlash for clamping down on the chat (one streamer had a particularly horrible incident along these lines a few years back that really brought that possibility into sharp relief for me). That latter possibility is scary enough for an individual large streamer, but when you have a broader community as unfathomably large as Hololive to the point where anything you do could blow up into an worldwide incident it surely makes the members more cautious.
Apologies for the long comment, and hopefully I'm not crossing any lines here--it just bums me out when I see this happen and I wish more could be done to protect the members from the worst impulses of the audience.
That's such a shame. A lot of the fun comes from watching someone play for the first time; you get to see them struggle, learn, and eventually overcome it. Miko's playthrough of SMB3 comes to mind. She struggled so much with that, especially that whole hour that it took for her to figure out to beat Level 6-5. But she got it done. Same goes with Pekora's playthroughs of the MGS games, especially MGS3.
Subaru's recent SMB1 playthrough was fascinating to me because I hadn't seen the game played like that in decades. I'd gotten so used to seeing the game played like a 5 minute speedrun, it was actually surreal to see it played like a complete newbie would in the 80s. It was oddly nostalgic, and satisfying to see her finally conquering it after 8 whole streams.
6-5. The Ice World. That's the stage where you need Raccoon Mario _and_ the koopa shell.
Wow look at that. I hated that stage as a kid and always skipped it. Yet Miko figured it out, slowly, but she did.
Being a fan of a game, being excited a streamer is playing it, and then just being an ass to them is like planting a tree and then getting mad it grows.
I was really looking forward to some more Resident Evil on Rissa's channel to see how she approaches that kind of horror. And that's just over.

I'm always going to respect how Rissa always speaks so openly and indeed, entertainingly, on her views on matters like these.
Imo, it just makes me realize I got one of the realest oshis in Hololive.
I've heard other streamers talk about this problem. Basically, as a streamer who games, you're going to have to choose whether you want your first playthrough of a game to be a good time, or good content.
I'd say good content. Always get the bag
Im surprised people did it since Nerissa has said on Giri's stream she's a positive affirmation type of girl and dont really like getting teased (the only teasing I see her liking is us saying Aradia, Malpha etc is their oshi).
I feel like more streamers should adopt the stoplight like Korone, to let chat know how frustrated they are getting with them.
This is perfect yes, Korone does a great job handling chat and still playing games, other members do too and its not frustrating or anything
I would like to think that the mean comments weren't from fans, but from tourists. That is what I want to believe. However, I know that some fans are just that disconnected from reality. They expect perfect game play from a casual player who just happens to be a Vtuber. Her passion isn't the game, her passion is in being a vtuber.
This is frustrating for me. I've seen other Hololive Talents play other games like Sonic Adventure 2 horribly, but never once would I ever chastise them for their gaming skills. I would personally just enjoy the stream and be a part of the experience. People are not only dumb, but they can be assholes too Rissa. Just gotta' watch for 'em.

Boohoo lemme play the worlds smallest violin 🎻
I understand that it can make you feel frustrated to see someone not doing something correctly. i‘ve experienced that feeling before when watching people play games. Especially if youre a big fan of the series and know all the tricks, that youve had to work out on your own.
But you have to remember that a big part of playing games or getting better at anything in general, is the way torwards it.
Its only a good reward to figure out cool tactics or ways of doing it when you discover them yourself, lets be real.
Otherwise youll never get the cool feeling of figuring something out after trying for a long time, which is a huge part of certain games. Not all games of course.
I don’t get why people have to backseat a game. Part of the fun of watching our Oshis or any content creator play these games they never touched before is them going through the difficulty we all went through when we first play those games.
I think the worst part is those people say that kind of stuff think it's witty teasing friendly banter and that they're socializing friendly. Like poke fun and poke buttons. But that only works if you've known the person as a friend for a while AND they allow it. That's the problem with parasocial relationships. People are losing the skill to read or gauge a room because the room is as big and wide as the freaking internet itself!
Every hololive member I'm sure has gone through this at some point. It's something I'm not sure how I would deal with if I ever became a streamer
It's every streamer really...

Streaming games for fun is both a blessing and a curse. This is one of those negatives unfortunately. There will always be a good minority of people wanting the streamer to do something exactly or pointing out what they did wrong without giving much input.
People need to remember that streamers like Nerissa are literal human beings. Whether a vtuber, in front of a camera, or behind a mic, these breathing, living beings that literally exist on the same planet as the rest of us. To everyone, please be kind to your favorite streamer. To some, streaming can be fun but it is also a job.
They're just characters my guy. Haha silly goose, they are just 2d anime girls, they're fiction. They're not real
@@akira8393 They are more real than you
I still not understand why people like to gatekeeping people who literally
Just get into the game but people telling the "right" way do
Are we competing with each other or what.....
Well i have enough of my favourites being trashed by modern media, so I'm on board with it really
@@akira8393 You are on board with being bullied? Wew lad
@@Enyoiyourself He's been doing this to almost every comment. Spout whatever comes out of their ass that pisses people off.
I watch vtubers because of that reason. It's fun to watch new people trying new games, new path, new genre for them. Their genuine impressions are what I look for.
If I want to watch an optimize playthrough, there are plenty of them already on the internet or even play them myself and now I have less thing to watch because of toxic backseaters.
A lot of chat behavior ruins streams. Good mods are worth a lot, and most are not paid...
These videos of Nerissa being offended by this and that and the other are really piling up this week.
I've never seen this with any other hololive member
Oh, that sucks. Would've loved to see her play that game.
“Playing on one’s own time” means never playing it again lol, these girls have zero time for casual gaming when they’re worn out from mandatory gaming 😮💨😮💨
this is the reason why some streamers only played the same games for a long time
Well not really
@@akira8393 No, like really
@@Enyoiyourself i feel like if you play for too long people gonna get bored no?
Mean people ruin things for everyone, it sucks to see all comments about the playthroughs we'll never see because people want to backseat game.
If you're active online and quit games cause people call you bad... you're gonna quit a lot of games lmao.
I'm so sorry Nerissa, I understand if the chat get frustrated, but never, neeever be mean, keep your bad comments to yourself.
this is why the "every game is darksouls" community is insufferable. The moment they say something hinting or related to "you're not playing it right"? i automatically hate them
they should always be banned or not allowed to watch streams, ever.
Gotta mute/ban them when they do that and itll disappear
Or don't play any game, i save her the trouble

This video happens over and over every year from a million streamers and all of the comments are always the same. You can't "fix" this without restricting chat to members only and nobody wants to do that. You either put up with it or you just stop streaming. I'm almost as tired of watching this process repeat as I am of watching the chat freak out when a streamer misses something in a video game. The people doing this don't think they're doing anything wrong and, even if they watched this video, would not internalize it as something that relates to them. When you have thousands of viewers, a small percentage of them will inevitably be loud and either anti-social or socially-awkward, another small percentage will be mean, and another percentage will just be folks who just want to see a video game they like played a way they want. You can't "teach" these people. You either stop paying attention or you stop them from being able to chat.
We FAILED JAILBIRDS.....this is NOT the correct timeline 😢😭
This is the right one
Never understood why some feel the need to type discouraging things in chat, like “you suck at this” or “I found a new oshi”. Even _if_ those are their honest thoughts, it’s pretty wild how casually inconsiderate the conduct is.
But then you don't like when people lie about it. I dunno i rather them just flat out honest
@@akira8393 Nah
@@Enyoiyourself 🤷 agree to disagree i guess
My problem is that people don’t know when to shut up sometimes. What they can say is rude.. like its ok to be bad at games a lot of people are but outright insulting them? Nah not cool.
Welcome to league buddy
@@akira8393 That's such a stupid answer
@@Enyoiyourselfbest to ignore this Guy, he is terminally online, trash talking basicially every vtuber under the sun. Holo, niji or vshojo does not matter.he is a degenerate to all of them.
In my opinion it's video games at the end of the day they're supposed to be a fun time and if someone isn't very good at some that's ok it comes with it we should encourage and respect Nerissa for trying new things
I don't really enjoy watching streamers play a game they're really poor at because the progress is usually very slow. It's very simple to just NOT WATCH THEM if someone has an issue with the streamer's skills.
That sucks man, Nerissa didn't deserve that bs 😢💙🖤
Yh there will always be people like that.
Some people want that sense of superiority, its unavoidable for content creators.
If she cant ignore it then yh best to play it offstream or dont play it at all.
People sometimes forget about rules or just forget to be kind in general. Also, people play games different ways, not everyone has to be good or efficient on metas or anything. It's really frustrating to me personally, if people are going alpha on a game and it sucks the fun out of it. Hope Nerissa takes a break from it and might come back to play it in the future if she's feeling better. 😊
Absolutely insane to me how "fans" still haven't learned to stop being ass hats. From bullying and aggressively backseating during games, to rehashing same old tired "jokes" that the talents don't wanna hear anymore. It's been years, why can't people learn?
It's called getting gud, to shut the haters up.
I had no idea hololivers had this issue.
It comes and goes in waves. Sometimes there's a lot of tourists and then not. Usually peaks with new games or with especially popular ones. The Elden Ring start was horrid cuz all the sweaty gamers came out and chastized the girls for not being gud at a game that was out for three days and supposed to be difficult. I vote for more dedicated mods.
Wow, after reading through the comment section, I had no idea this happened so often. It sucks that those people make us lose out on cool streams from games the girls enjoy ;_;
My response to people like that is "i paid $60 for this game, I'll play it however the fuck i want"
Watching someone overcome a challenge that they have been struggling with is some of the best content.
Pebbles were the only fanbase that i think that enjoyed fck ups because its funny and its even more funny due to Biboo. If only other holo fans could also do this to their oshis, they would see why Pebbles got great chemistry with Biboo due to them not forcing or pressuring her but enjoying her growth how she learns to do stuff in the game like how all of us would.
Some people don't realize that the point of these streamers is to be entertaining to the viewers. The game is a facilitation for a conversation, not the focus. This also becomes an issue when someone decides they want to be a streamer and starts to play a game on stream normally thinking it'll make people want to watch and then nobody shows up because the streamer is boring. It's really hard to divide your attention between an active chat, your equipment, and the game.
Not to point fingers or anything.
But when Nerissa played the game, she did also skip the tutorial.
And moments later she got stuck because she didn't know what to do.
And many in chat pointed out that if she would have read the tutorial, she would have been able to figure it out.
So, while it's true that chat was nagging on her, she did also ignore instructions, and complained about something trivial.
Chat shouldn't have harassed her like that, but at the same time, Nerissa is also partly to blame a landmine could have been avoided if she would have spent a couple of minutes with the tutorial first.
My point is that it's possible to avoid pitfalls with some insight, but at the same time chat doesn't have the right to insult the streamer.
Ah yes, the untold part is the crucial part. Love that.
Typical, the streamer pays no attention and then complains when they fail.
The oldest mistake in gaming, listening to the people say you suck
Omigod, I heard Crisis Core as "Crisis Four" at the start and I was like wait what theres a 4th one?
so many viewers lack basic social skills.... Tips can be very helpful, when, you know, the streamer actually WANTS help
"oh my god you're so bad at this game!" Indeed, I am. Please do cry, it amuses me.
I don't think any of the girls would respond like this, but sometimes I wish they would. Just remember to support the lasses in kind and appropriate manners.
I legit do not get the backseating. No streamer, VTuber or otherwise, has EVER been okay with their chatroom screaming "DO THIS! DO IT NOW! YOU SUCK! PLAY BETTER!"
Streamers definitely not but i do, you get that on voice chat even, try play that shit with SEA bros they don't give a fuck😂
Can't give these people that power.
Honestly understandable, part of the reason why I stopped playing competitive games or online games in general was just because of how demoralizing it can get when you mess up and people flame at you, though that's prolly on me for expecting everyone to be chill at something they're passionate about.
Now I just stick to JRPGs and chill after work on em instead w/ my frens in vc, best decision ever
Exactly why I quit LoL, people sweat the fuck out of it like they get paid for playing it, its crazy that unskilled gameplay is unironically considered a valid reason to report another player for
Exactly.
Damn, I really wanted to see her reactions
Man that sucks, I'd love to watch her play more games. Why do people have to be assholes to such a sweet girl
Ive said this many times, i hate this behavior, i have for years. "How dare you not play the game the way I want to! I cannot stand seeing people enjoy things differently than I!" Its pushed so many away from what could have been fun.
I’ll admit i’m guilty of being a back seater but i usually try to reign it in unless they ask for help and just saying someone sucks is needlessly mean.
This happened to Kronii when she played elden ring, which was crazy, cause she beat Margit in like 3 tries without even leveling up first. Even if you play well people complain.
Just perma ban them, really.. They are not your fans and they just want to stress and mock you..
I've seen this a lot on other members. although there's healthy line like making fun of pon moments or asking chat on how to do things etc but too much back sitting ruins the fun. just let them enjoy at their own pace
I'm starting to realize it really depends on the person. Although I wouldn't deny it could be excessive, I like when people tell me what's wrong because I have a speed runner kind of mindset (then again, I'm aware this is a different kind of scenario with pressure of streaming and the commenters not being accredited or in goodwill; but reminded me of this anyway). Also, with general toxicity too. I knew people were promoting less toxicity, but I didn't know people actually felt that bad about it.
Streamers don't need to be good at games. They need to be entertaining. Sometimes they do stupid stuff on purpose just because it might be funny. Far too many people don't seem to get it.
Just git gud. I dunno what's the problem
@@akira8393 You are the problem
People need to stop taking words on the internet seriously all it takes is turning off the monitor and they go away.
That's so easy for you to say. Maybe try and get a huge following to see what it's like.
Or she can grow the fuck up and suck it up and not ignore tutorials
This might be a little harsh, but I think that is what being a Vtuber or streamer in general is
You're gonna get comment from a new viewer, or sometimes a troll, and that's normal I think
I'm not fluent in JP, but when I see miko or subaru or even pekora live chat said that they're suck at a games, they're just gonna make a banter out of it
Because you're not gonna be there sitting with your regular viewers all the time, there are gonna be a lot of new people come, sometimes a troll also gonna come, and there are risk to it
It's sad when people rob others the enjoyment of the game, even tho they got to have it.
Always sucks to hear when this happens. Makes it worse that this happens so often.
People should be nice but she does need to just ignore the bad comments and get mods to remove the really bad ones. Just ignore it or tell chat too calm down don't take things so personally. If she knows she can't handle comments about playing a game badly then she already knows what games she shouldn't play. Like if she is getting stressed in a game talk to chat about calming down, mods time out people, like you don't need to just quit
Damn... people just not being cool is not cool. I would've loved to see her play more of those games too...
Also, though it's nice to hear she's so considerate of the Jailbirds I'd personally prefer if she's having just as much fun playing as it is for us to watch her play at all times, so I completely understand not wanting to go back to it because of those rando jerks.
