If you think about it, Jin Ling was really orphaned by his mother’s choices. Had Jiang YanLi not went onto the battlefield to look for Wei WuXian, perhaps Jin Ling would have had a mother to raise him.

I love this so much. It shows that both Jiang cheng and Wei wuxian really cared for each other that they're willing to put their lives on the line. It's good to know that there is someone who acknowledges the fact that Wei wuxian was not the only one who sacrificed something. I think that Jiang cheng deserves a lot of respect because restoring his sect's standing and taking care of his nephew while being burdened by the fact that his siblings are dead is not an easy feat. Only strong-willed people can get back up after going through what he did.

I 100% believe that if Jin Zixuan survived, he and Jiang Cheng will get along great! Also I swear that the whole Jiang Clan did Jiang Cheng rong. They made him so insecure and made him think he wasn't enough like Yanli didn't even say a word to him when she died! Can you be more obvious in your favoritism? I really hate JFM so much honestly. Lan Zhan was fine during their teenage years but then after that he became so obssessed with WY and acts as if he's so innocent. I really don't like the future him honestly.

I still can't believe previous jiang clan members did that to the heir of their clan. However, I think that after the war, when he built the clan again from the beginning on his own, the people who came to it knew a lot about him and supported him, and were overprotective. As for lz i know he love wy but he should be known that wy is not pure and many people suffered because of him too 🤧. The only good thing jfm did was bring wy into the clan . 🙂

honestly the way madam yu cared about him couldn't be defined as care. don't get me wrong she was fucking abusing, i mean half of a cheng's insecurity complex was from madam yu comparing him with wei ying other half was from his father. honestly both were shit parents who fucked up the life of three kids. i mean we all agree if cangse sanren and wei changze was the one who were the gaurdian of the three they would've lived a better childhood. secondly jiang yanli was compromised of her childhood. being a child she acted more as an gaurdian than her parents. i don't think she is biased cos uk she will definitely justify jiang cheng's anger and the way he treated wei ying by saying he doesn't know how to express himself. a matter of fact i believe if jiang yanli knew about core transfer she wouldn't have stopped it too and would've justified with wei ying being more mature and strong, while partially agreeing jiang cheng wouldn't have been able to stand it. My other favourite character is Lan Zhan but you managed to make me hate him a little from how petty and unreasonable he is being. I'm all for being petty but within reason of course and LWJ was getting on my nerves with all the talk about Jiang Cheng being ungrateful and inferior to Wei Wuxian 😒 I mean...I know you love WWX and feel like everything that happened was JC's fault for not supporting him and blablabla...I'm not saying you're completely wrong but you're taking it to the extreme! Everyone is a little bit at fault! Even you! (I finished my rant 😅)
I would love to see your take on showing them an AU of Jiang Cheng in his past life as Liu Qingge or in his future life as Xie Lian or maybe both or maybe in reverse? (I love those kinds of AUs btw😁) Another idea is Jiang Cheng x Liu Qingge (Idk why but ever since I read a one shot with this pairing, it's been stuck in my head 😅 I can't find the fanfic I first read 😞 I didn't bookmark it)

How can you be the advocate of justice when you hate on a character for doing what he could and ignore all of Wei Ying's bad doings?
I do love both Liu Qingge and Jiang Cheng, They both definitely deserved better. I'll see if I have time then i could do that video but no promises!😁 I love those AUs too. This was so good tho! and makes sense why Jing Ling is so defensive and i am happy more people are showing Jiang cheng (who is my favorite) more love and more of the stuff he suffered from but i do admit that he did a lot of bad things too and hurt Wei Ying a lot back truthfully Wei Ying is right they hurt each other a lot but Jin Ling only knows Jiang Chengs is the one person who has always been on his side so he will defend him no matter what.
But it is sad Jin Ling thinks that Yanli doesn't love him or not more then wei wuxian when she does a lot but in moments like what happened to her you don't think you just act and you can't change it.

Thank you! I really do think Jin Ling will be defensive of Jiang Cheng. To be honest, the things Jiang Cheng did that hurt Wei Ying, he didn't really have a choice. Jiang Cheng tried his best so many times to protect Wei Ying but Wei Ying didn't accept them and he couldn't save the Wens like Wei Ying wanted because it could turn the rest of the Sects on Yunmeng again. I think JIn Ling defends Jiang Cheng so much is because no one else will and Jin Ling knows how good his uncle is.
It is sad that Jin Ling thinks that but honestly if I was Jin Ling and heard about why my mother left her newborn son and went to the battlefield where she wasn't supposed to go then I might think the same thing. Jin Ling doesn't know his mother so he doesn't know her mindset so there will definitely be miscommunication...
As to Lan Sizhui... I think these two are able to be friends without being hostile to each other... Sure Jin Ling is hostile to his parents but I think Jin Ling is also a good enough friend to not bring that up all the time. I also think neither of them will deliberately stoke the fire and talk about their guardians with each other. There might definitely be fights but I think their parents wouldn't want them to fight on their behalf. These juniours deserve a chance to have fun without the effects of the war hanging over them

Fengmian's favoritism for WWX, even sometimes I feel like Yanli also had some favoritism towards WWX; Ziyuan accepting his mistakes.
The peacock joining the family, the truths revealed including the fact that jiang cheng did not come back for the bodies, but, to protect WWX.
LWJ being as rude as ever to A-Cheng.... isn't A-Cheng supposed to have a higher rank than him, and so he should respect him (?), anyway the Lan adjusting their rules for when it suits them. I adored LWJ but in the Recess of the Clouds arc, since WWX came back I feel like I idolize him a lot.🤐🤐😔😔🤨🤨😶😶
A-Ling the being that A-Cheng lives for and worshipping his uncle is all I need. 🙏🙏💖💖💕💕

WWX had good intentions, I know that but it doesn't quite add up for me.
Literally it is a risky operation, it was performed without A-Cheng's authorization, whether or not it was a violation of her body or privacy (first and foremost consent); I also feel that as a doctor Wei Qing lacked ethical morals. 😶😶
The part where Wen Ning told her all that was very cruel to me, he had no right to tell that to A-Cheng and the "you will never be better than WWX" was too much, I loved the character (WN) but I couldn't handle it and left the donghua :D 🤐🤐

I really hate the favouritism showed, either directly (JFM) or indirectly (Yanli) so I wanted to show how unfair it was to Jiang Cheng and I really hate how people always ignore Jiang Cheng's sacrifice for WWX too.

Honestly I never finished the donghua. I just went to find the Jiang Cheng scenes and screen recorded all of them to make edits and then I never touched the donghua again. I hate how they made Jiang Cheng go into seclusion when he would never ever leave Jin Lin alone like that.

The donghua for me was painful to see, the how they throw so much hatred at jc is frustrating to see, they make him look like an irritating and hateful character, plus they don't even put a little effort into explaining his character. 😢
Jc for me is a very constructed character, too human that allows you to identify with him (I adore him). 🥺💜💜💜
The gold core transfer... It is too frustrating for me everything that came up for it and even the realization of it, there were mistakes that made both WWX and jc that allowed this event to pass and it was for lack of communication... 😭
And in the donghua after wn's discussion with jc... I couldn't finish it, it made me angry and wanted to hit wn, I firmly believe that it was not for him to say what he said and it was more his resentment that spoke, he blamed jc for what happened to the wen remnants and even put WWX on a pedestal. He forgot that it was a war and that what happened was because of the decision of several sects, not just one person and that jc was a child with responsibilities too big for his young age, such as rebuilding a sect, raising a child and looking for the future of his people. For me jc is a leader, I prioritize its people and we know that you always have to make sacrifices to achieve something. 🙃
I hate jc's ending in the donghua because to me, he is not able to approach jin ling that way, he is his beloved nephew (but like his son) and with what happened in guanyao things are going to be tense, leaving a-ling in that environment completely alone is something a-cheng wouldn't do! 😠🙅

Especially with Jin Zixuan ,it is sad that we don't really get to see Jiang Cheng getting closer to him, but I always felt that eventually they would have been good brother-in-laws. And I really love how real Yanli felt, she wasn't all in favor of anyone. Neither of her brothers were treated that well, and she wasn't really either, but she was at least partly brainwashed into "oh my parents have so many responsibilities, my mom was prickly anyway it wasn't her fault, my dad could be kind sometimes he doesn't mean to," and she was never thrown *too* too harshly into the explicit reality that there are favorites here, Fengmian likes Wuxian more, and he neglects Jiang Cheng because of it. THAT'S REAL LOVE BRO. SHE'S ACKNOWLEDGING SHE WAS SHIT AT SHOWING IT BUT SHE CARED. And really, even at the expense of Wei Wuxian, who was totally suffering his own things and didn't deserve the short end of the stick the way he was given it, her last words were to protect Jiang Cheng. Jin Ling. My darling boy. The number 1 Jiang Cheng stan in the entire series tbh. My boy was a one man army in favor of the dude who raised him, ready to argue with the mother he's missed so dearly, the grandfather who hurt his parental figure, and whole entire Hanguang-jun?? Anyone who had a problem with his jiujiu could catch these hands, shit he was going after Wei Wuxian too, and he wasn't even entirely serious. He's a passionate kid with a real backbone, a sturdy support system, someone to cry to when the days get hard, true friends, and a lot to prove! He is the genuine recipe for a force of nature. *He's gonna be a force of nature.* And I am so, *so* proud of him for that.

shksjhdskhj you have no idea how happy i was to wake up and see such a long and detailed comment. I love how Jiang Cheng is canonically a good parent too! like in a world where corporal punishment is normal and even expected, Jin Ling is so shocked and offended at the thought that Jiang Cheng would hit him and I absolutely love Jiang Cheng for that. Jin Ling may not be his kid by blood but he sure as hell is Jiang Cheng's kid by love.
Also! I bet you that if Jin Zixuan had been living, he and Jiang Cheng would be amazing bros! Like Jiang Cheng has proven that he will get over his petty grudges and accept Zixuan into the family and I am so sure these two will get along so well. Two introverts trying to manage Jiang family dinners together when they would rather sit by themselves and take care of Jin Ling. I love these two bros so much.
I do have mixed feelings about Jiang Yanli because she did unintentionally follow her father and favour Wei Wuxian as well but as you mentioned she was partially brainwashed. I think she just didn't want to accept the fact honestly that her father would favour an adopted son over his real son and that she was following in her footsteps.
I believe that Jiang Fengmian is deluding himself. He doesn't want to admit that he doesn't care for Jiang Cheng because that would mean that his wife is right and he would never admit that she is right. Of course everyone knows, he's just deluding himself and pretending that Jiang Cheng doesn't exist.
Yu Ziyuan is not a perfect mother but she does care and that's what makes me like her more than JFM. I do think that once she's confronted by how her children felt she would realise her mistakes and try to change. She deserves much better than a shitty husband like JFM and it's honestly better if she gets divorced. The parallels of YZY and JC with JC and JL where they give their most powerful weapons to protect their kids is immaculate and I really love these two so much
Jin Ling my beloved!!! People try to twist canon in saying that Jiang Cheng abuses Jin Ling and Jin Ling is scared of JC but that's all absolutely not true! Jin Ling would absolutely throw hands at anyone who dares to suggest such nonsense. He would be the number 1 Jiang Cheng protector for sure! This is his dad by love, no one gets to insult his dad! Jin Ling is absolutely an amazing person and I was so glad to be able to showcase his love for Jiang Cheng in this video.

Honestly, people need to relize that all the characters are flawed in their own way. A lot of people hate jawing Cheng and think he’s a terrible person, but he did what he thought was best p, and wwx and all the others made PLENTY of mistakes. Also like, people can change so why do so many people not get the story and the character’s.

I love this video so much, mainly because Jiang Cheng is my favorite character and I always see everyone hate on him and act like Wei Ying and other characters don't have their fair share of faults and mistakes. Also I hate like 90% of the Jiang Clan. Especially Madam Yu and Jiang Fengmian. Madam Yu is definitely one of the only people who cared of Jiang Cheng but she showed it terribly and in doing so ruined his childhood even more and have him more and more trauma, not adding the fact that she was literally abusive. Jiang Fengmian literally favored WWX over his own son, I'm not saying the WWX didn't deserve the love, but acting like JC had all the faults and never paying attention to him is plain emotional neglect. Also as much as I love Jiang Yanli, she obviously favored WWX over her own bio brother and didn't even speak to JC when she was literally on her 'deathbed' so to say. And in like s1e6 when she used JC as a buffer when her parents were arguing kinda made it seemed that she only mentioned him for like a "chill pill" for them. It frustrates me so much that it was only Madam Yu in that whole clan who truly cared for JC and still treated him like trash.
Also I love Lan Zhan but his attitude with JC always frustrates me and I literally want to yell at him constantly because as much as I love Wei Ying and Wangxian, Lan Zhan, and honestly a lot of people in the fandom, act like Wei Ying hasn't had his fair share of mistakes. I'm not saying either are perfect but seriously. ALSO THIS IS LIKE REALLY IMPORTANT AND PISSES ME OFF SO MUCH AND I LEARNED IT IN ANOTHER REACT VID: Ok so basically you know the scene where Lan Zhan (being the ass that he is when it comes to JC) does this weird wind thing and that causes JC's sect leader hair thing or whatever (not trying to be disrespectful, I just don't know what their called) to fall off and his hair to come down. Yeah ok, so basically if someone does that, if someone takes off's someones sect leader cap/hair thing forcibly it means that they (the sect leader) do not deserve it and do not deserve the title of sect leader. It also means that they (whoever took it off) believe that the sect leader has failed their sect. AND WHAT!?!? Lan Zhan had no fucking right to do that, blatantly calling him a bad sect leader when he had to rebuild his sect from scratch on his OWN. Without anyone, because everyone had left him, and he did a damn good job at it too. God, those are the moments that make me have just an giant heap of hate/anger directed to Lan Zhan.
I, personally, have a headcanon that the new Jiang Clan/Sect loves JC so much and care for him so much because they've seen how much he's done for them and how much he struggles on a daily basis, and they just try to give him the love (that he thins he doesn't deserve) that he DOES deserve.
Jin Ling also being a JC apologist is the truest thing ever. He loves his Jiujiu and I was loving the moments when he just went off on everyone, cause they def deserved it. And another thing, I definitely agree in one of your comments that JC and Jin Zixuan (who I seriously love, like one of my top five) would be best friends, or just really good friends if Jin Zixuan had not died.
Now, I haven't watched or read any form of media of MDZS other than the Donghua, mainly because I am not in a position to get the novels as of now. But I am so glad that they don't make A-Cheng go into seclusion in the other formats because as much as I love the Donghua, it made so no sense for JC to go into seclusion and he would not leave A-Ling alone like that especially after he just had to become a 15 year-old sect leader, because he himself knew how that felt and that it is not a good experience, especially all alone. And some people would argue "oh, but he had WWX and-" blah blah blah. Does anyone really think that he would be in any condition to see WWX or even want to see him. Yes, he does know that he's innocent now but still, there's a lot to unpack there. Despite the fact that JC was in 100 different kinds of pain he would've most likely told himself to suck it up and be their for Jin Ling. Not saying that he should do that, because that is just not healthy, but also it just seems like it would make sense for his character.
and yeeesh, sorry for the long comment, I just love JC and will defend him for as long as I can, which is not me saying that he doesn't have his faults, but still.

Even Yanli too. I think both she and Fengmian had such low opinions of JC and thought more highly of WWX, she poured out adoration onto WWX and for what?? She always seemed to use JC as the middle ground during fights between her parents. Oh, obviously, she cared for and loved him, but she definitely was more partial and favored WWX over JC.

Mood. I do like to think that since Jin Zixuan matured quite abit when he married Yanli, he and Jiang Cheng would be good friends since Jiang Cheng wouldn't antagonise him. Honestly with JL I always have to say this you dont back talk someone your absolutely terrified of!! Like if JC was an absolute horrible parent JL would be more muted he would be more compliant JL is none of that he antagonizes the lan boys a bit and the boy runs to JC to be away from danger or looks at him for encouragement sure JC isnt perfect as he hides behind his anger and basically the whole cultivation world is afraid of him but he cares for JL and it shows with JL's attitude
In the first night hunt when WWX came their where freaken Jiang Desciples disguised as other Sects Disciples so the boy would accept help if he absolutely needed it he wants to show JC he can do things he wants JC to be proud of him

For his life at Lotus Peir you only have rumors that JC let fly about himself he could very well be a different man there as you only have the whispers of him torturing DEMONIC CULTIVATORS only the "real" confirmation i think we got was from Lan Suzhi and or Lan Jinyi saying things but when would they have been near lotus peir huh? I'm just gonna end that by saying they had to have heard it from a head Disciple or somebody else from Gusu (they are not a reliable source as they are 15 or so they probably haven't even stepped a foot into Lotus Pier)

Hua Cheng the main Character Xie Lian's love intrest accompanied him as well throughout basically the whole series and in the present time in that book sure he was protecting him be he also was making sure Xie Lian knew the line of what where his actions that he made and what where the actioms of others and how his actions of withholding information where not helping him Hua Cheng is an obessive stalkerish ghost who only cares for Xie Lian but he is helping him with the whole this your 'action how he perceives it is his business' and stuff like that Lan Zhan didn't seem to be doing that

This is a HUGE rant about my opinions on each member of the Jiang family, I got wildly carried away but I don't regret a single thing I've wrote I just wish that I could scream it into the characters faces. This family has a lot of issues and I've not held my tongue to any of them on this matter if you want to waste 10 minutes of your life
Jiang Fengmian is one of my least favourite characters and he needs to get a backbone. He finds it easier to talk to WWX because WWX acts like his parents, who he was friends with, and finds it difficult to talk to his own son because Madam Yu has raised him to have her own insecurities about whether or not JFM cares about him. A LOT of the Jiang family issues would be resolved if he was just honest with his kids and was slightly more confrontational to Madam Yu but he just LETS his son think he doesn't love him(Actually he doesn't even know that JC feels this way because he's hardly a father figure to him at all) he lets JYL become a mother for his son and his ward (because he and his wife can't get their shit together and stop arguing) and he just LETS his wife emotionally and mentally abuse his kids and ward! (She also FREQUENTLY physically abused WWX on top of all the mental torture, harming him and also her own kids by making them classist and terrified of her). Also how fucked up is it that even when making JC think he cares about WWX more, he actually would never choose WWX over JC like??? His last words to them were for WWX to protect JC at all costs, not for them to care for each other, but for WWX to take care of JC like WWX isn't only 15 days older than him. Let's not forget that JFM willingly put WWX's life in danger by sending him to the Wen's camp just to make sure JC is safe cause that TOTALLY something you do with someone you prefer. JFM only holds WWX in high regards and can talk to him because he sees him as a SUBORDINATE or his children's bodyguard instead of a son. WHY DOES ANYONE THINK HE PREFERS WWX OVER JC!?!
Do I really need to say more about Madam Yu, she got so hung up in the rumours that JFM was in love with someone else that she creates conflict, neglects and abuses her kids and blatantly disregards the fact that(While he isn't the best dad) is a loyal and respecting husband for this day and age by letting her continue night hunting, staying incredibly loyal(Despite her cruelty and accusations at him), defending her from any rumours and taking a note in the things she likes and cares about and going out of his way to always think about her and treat her like a queen. This is literally ANCIENT CHINA and even these standard aren't met today and she still complaining so immaturely when she could have been married to someone like Jin Guangshan. She almost CRAVES conflict, I can see how hard having WWX around as a reminder can be but it isn't a child's fault who's parents they have or WWX's fault for JFM's actions, I don't like her.
JYL has also been significantly abused in this dynamic by becoming a care giver for her brothers at a VERY young age but not everything is fixed by avoiding an issue and by making soup but I can't blame her at all for that she did her best, queen shit! I DO, however, blame her for running into a battlefield without and form of protection and dying in front of her therapy needing brothers and leaving a baby behind. I understand your motives but HOLY SHIT THAT WAS DUMB OF YOU AT LEAST BRING A SHIELD!!!
JC is badly done to and has been abused but I also think that he kinda dug a grave for himself as well. None of what happened to him was his fault at all and he didn't deserve ANY of it but it also doesn't justify the person he became or the way he treated WWX but I also know that these were learned traits from Madam Yu so again I rlly can't blame him on this one. I DO, however, think that it is MAJORLY fucked up to blame your parents, sisters, brother-in-law and your sect's deaths on your 'brother' because he saved yours and several other sect heirs lives and prevented a girl from getting raped, murdered and tortured. He KNEW that the Wen's were gonna attack anyway and would find any reason to do it so I don't like him for that but he is also BABEY and deserves so MUCH better.
We've all read MDZS so we know how WWX is hardly at fault for anything that happened but I do wish he'd be a little less self-sacrificing and would just TELL JC the truth of a few things that are bothering him even if he thinks that it doesn't matter (I'm also blaming this one on JFM and Madam Yu cause their abuse and simultaneous love and trust but also brazen disregard for his well being have shaped him into the perfect sacrificial soldier to protect their children with)

I love jiang cheng as much as the next guy, but wei wuxian is not entirely to blame for the strain in their relationship. Neither of them are good at communicating, and everything would be better if a. jiang cheng hadn't lied about the circumstances of why he lost his core, and b. if wei wuxian hadn't lied to him about the core transfer, but at the same time they are both far too proud to admit that they miss each other. jc
And on the topic of jiang yanli.. I highly doubt she loved wei wuxian more than she loved jin ling. In my eyes, the person she loved the most was her husband, and she knowingly ran into a battlefield without any experience in fighting. I personally think she always knew she would die there, and would get the chance to join her husband. grief does wild things to people.
I'm not even gonna begin on jfm and yzy. I could rant about them for ages. I have personally never seen jfm's behavior towards wwx as favoritism, per se, more as someone who feels obligated to take care of the child of his friends. mostly because he asked wwx to protect jiang cheng and jiang yanli before the fall of lotus pier, but didn't mention anything about wwx himself.
either way, i adore this video because it fits canon, and how i imagine jin ling would actually behave (even if i'm a whore for post mdzs fics where wwx, jc and jl are on better terms, and actually happy) (honeslty kinda upset mxtx didnt give us a canon twin prides reconcilation)

Lan zhans not in the wrong here tho. He’s not wrong to see JC as a threat to WWX when, by what he’s seen, is that he’s a factor in his death as he was a part of the siege. All he has seen is the hurt JC dealt to his husband. And you know the whole attacking him when he first got brought back definitely didn’t help this hatred.
