Dear Joe, love ur channel a lot, but as a passionate spearfisher from the austrian alps i am really really afraid of tides, currents and the stuff a mountain guy like me doesnt now anything about. So if u find the time to do a tide and current special for dummies with ski on their feet pls pls do a special about it. Greetings from the alps ...sven.
Bought all my initial spearfishing gear from these guys when I first started out, really reasonable prices and great customer care even to Northern Ireland. I'm heading down there this summer so will defo be popping in to grab some bits. Nice vid for those starting out Joe Pk.
Good heavens! I am waiting for my Cherokee to arrive from Anthony tomorrow, I guess I missed the discount opportunity lol. Anyway, great to see I made the right choice.
Great team at the spearfishing store I went down there to have a look at the wet suits and they could not help me enough , even added a bungee to my speargun for me , came away very happy with everything you need to go spearfishing with and at a great price and loads of advise cannot recommend them enough
I think the Mares Viper Pro is a pretty good deal, as it comes with a reel and is of a good built quality. More bang for the buck compared to the mid and high level Cressis.
Joe what are your thoughts on roller guns. I’ve used a I JBL sawed off magnum, but really don’t like the double band and heavy spear. Was thinking of looking at one
Hoho it’s Anthony from the store , he really does know his stuff , I was there to buy my first gear a month ago and spent couple of hours picking his brain , he really did help me go towards the right direction to get my first gear sorted , He is really nice and informative , I highly recommend visiting his store Too bad I couldn’t catch him last week I was there , but the older guys were really helpful nonetheless , Thank you Joe pk , please keep updating with more videos , always eager for another one , also do you ever take beginner out for dives ? Ahah I’ve got couple of Dives under my belt
Thanks for the comment Max, many more videos I haven't even had time to begin editing! I would love to take people out for dives but with a full time job and two small children I am crazily busy but If i ever have time I will let you know.
@@JoePkSpearfishing hey Joe. You should get into a bit more testing and tuition spearfishing blogs. We do a similar thing but for SUP ua-cam.com/users/SUPboardermagvideos?view_as=subscriber . Im sure if you got into more gun and gear testing you subs would love it. I would! Im sure the shop would get behind it too. Anyway only an idea keep it up. Your last videos have really been top stuff.
hello joe. any chance of doing a video going into more detail on spearguns and how you string them up etc, i see some have magnets on the end to keep the spear located while some are held on buy the string rap, surely the magnets take some power away?, do the guns with guide rails still have rollers on the end? and could you show the reel set up please, theres no shops close to me to go and view all the accessories and setups.
I would say the boungy is most importatant for not loosing the fish as it can tear easily when speard in the flesh or worse stomach. Other then that. Great video keep it up. Allways love a little speargun talk
Hi the shop is located in Totnes. If you’re looking to get started I’d recommend calling Barcley at the shop first on 07918 612234 because he is running it solo at the moment - just to get a slot where he can focus on you. How exciting!!
What's the best thing to apply to the rubber of my nemrod 45 to keep it from getting brittle, perish and breaking,? Thank you very much any advice throughly appreciated
Out of interest, why are pneumatic guns never talked about? I had a lot of success with these guns. I found them more streamlined and lasted many years if washed and self serviced each season.
I was speaking Anthony the other day on the phone and he was ace!
He got me off to the perfect start spearfishing!

Excellent advice! Thanks for the video captain and great to see you put the last gun to the test in the video!
Bought some gear from the shop in the past. Decent prices and quick shipping. Amongst the best in UK, thumbs up

Great video captain, not used to seeing you on dry land.
Was great to watch on TV
Haha! It did feel unusual to be filming out of the murky waters. Hope the information was useful dear sir.
Great video! Thanks to the both of you for sharing your advice and knowledge
Pleased you found it useful.

Hi Joe, happy New year. Need a new suit for 2020. Any advice on maker/ type/ thickness would really be appreciated. Thanks Mike P .
This is where I got my gear to. Nice
I'm looking to get into spearfishing and want to buy my first gun. Is there a reason you don't offer bundles with the reels and line etc?

Good video Joe. Always good to know what's going on in the shops. Im still using my old Cressi Comanche. But maybe its time for an upgrade;-).
The comanche is brilliant! Toughest gun I've ever owned. Yet the Cherokee is a bit more refined.

Just gone to check their website and it looks like they are closing down as they have no stock of anything 😔
its just new
Based on the conditions and type of fish you spear in the UK, what are the most common gun sizes used in the UK?
Most common size is a 75cm
Great collab
Great Vid!
Why is there no pressure guns? I've always used mares cyrano or similar, what's the appeal of rubber guns?
Very great storie and video! Bravo Joe!
Aaaah..... The small boy struggling to get out behind your smile at the first mention of "bigger rubber" 🤭🤭🤭
Yes mate, awesome job.
Cheers Jamie
The voucher doesn't work anymore Joe ? Big fan of the videos
Thanks for checking out my videos mate. Unfortunately this store recently closed down hence the voucher expired I guess 😐
@@JoePkSpearfishing thanks Joe, that's a pity. Any recommendations for somewhere to purchase spear gear in UK or Ireland ?
