Even though there’s A LOT of things, practice mode is your best friend. That’s where u should practice adjustments, passing, route concepts, new plays, etc. Even tho it may seem boring, it’s ESSENTIAL if you wanna play online and become a good player Another thing is to always try and learn. One thing that’s helped me since I started UA-cam last year was that I ALWAYS tried to learn something new in the game, wether its a route concept, coverage, etc. And when it comes to actual gameplay, learning the basic defensive coverages and what they do will help tremendously. For example, understanding what a cover 2 defense is, cover 3, cover 4, 2 man under, etc will benefit you GREATLY when first starting out. Once you learn those defenses then u start learning how to beat those coverages. I use to play madden a lot back in the day. But now I’m older and slower haha 59. I’m trying to understand this free form passing. I get the idea. But I hold L2 and do I tap the receiver button and then hold it down? And then move the stick ? Please help my son and grandson are kicking my ass in our franchise? I guess I need it explained as in madden for dummies lol
Yeah, hold the button down, the left trigger, and the left stick simultaneously as u make the pass. It may seem like a lot of buttons but once u practice it’s actually pretty natural! Lmk of this helps!
Depending on the console. Press B on Xbox or O on PS when u pass the ball. This will change the player to the receiver you are passing too. Then u will be able to control that receiver to come back to the ball. When catching the ball, u can press Y or Triangle to aggressive catch, B or O to possession catch, and X or Square to rac catch. I recommend you go to practice mode to practice coming back to the ball because it can make you A LOT better on offense. Hopefully this answered your question, let me know if this helps💯

U can still pass lead by not holding LT, but u will pass lead way further when holding LT and throw A LOT less pics
