  • We spent eight days driving and sleeping in a tiny rental car to get from Georgetown (on the coast) to Lethem (on the Brazilian border).
Guyana is a rough, beautiful, jungle nation in South America that can be horribly expensive for the traveler.
As such, it's one of the least-visited countries on earth!
But rental cars are affordable, and you can drive anywhere. Outside of Georgetown, Guyana is very safe, and people are friendly, helpful and everyone speaks English.
    Highlights of our trip included:
    -looking for the Cock-of-the-Rock bird
    -packrafting the Pirara River
    -severe thunderstorm in Kumu
    -wildlife spotting in Surama
-accidentally staying in a brostel in Lethem
-surviving 800 miles of driving on the left!

Guyana is a beautiful country by nature. An intelligent tourist appreciates the good things and respect the differences and stages of development or at least learn something from them. Those derrogatory comments are not only bad for your image, but also adds to the bad reputation of American tourists.
Please dont come to my country Brazil.
Big hug to all Guyanese, lovely people ❤

Thanks for your honest response, he leaned heavily on the negative side. Everything was "the worst "... worst hotel, worst road, worst bridge... He should stay in his perfect world, wherever the heck he's from! As to you my Brazilian brother, visit us anytime, love you..

Nice video! Yes that bridge and the potholes were terrible. Good job calling a spade a spade -those things should be fixed.

@@Nomeado We thought Georgetown and the coast was kinda dangerous, but the interior of your country was fantastic and felt very safe!

Kindly don't ever come back to Guyana because you are not welcome, your entire video is base on criticizing this beautiful country

You are 100% correct.. our differences from the rest of the world should be appreciated, not spoken about as "the worst"..
