Theo and Bee gave up their busy city lifestyles in 2014 to explore alternative living, and have lived in vans and boats since then without looking back! Along with their cat Ginjey Bear they have been driving around the world in their self converted Sprinter van. However, when the global pandemic hit they began converting their abandoned stone barn in Central Portugal to turn into a wonderful tiny stone cottage. Along the way, they have rescued a playful cat called Furrnando and have a wonderful flock of Chickens!

What a wonderful facility it will be - for flora and fauna and you two as well. Having your own wildlife pool to use for refreshing and relaxation is quite the dream! The wee digger - with the blade - is such an asset for this project and, I'm sure, many other future projects. Stay well, hydrated and rested! So good to see everything unfold in the videos. Also, hope the off grid property goes quickly and for the right price!

I think it was a miracle the new kitten was found and a miracle she got you for new parents, and now she lives on miracle mountain........ I looked up the Portuguese word for miracle and it is Milagre so I think that would be a good name for her and she could be called Mila (me la) for short LOL

Another good reason for a strong and bubbling water flow into and out of the pond is for oxygenation... so the pond won't stagnate!!! It's an important element to think about!
You two are so talented 🎉. Heavy equipment operation, roofer, stone masonry, plumbing, solar, electrical , a builder, animal husbandry, fruit grower, lumberjack, carpenter, and so many more. You make us mere mortals feel pretty small 😮

Now I promise I have not been drinking but as Theo drove the 4x4 to the area to swim, on the right there were some large rocks. One looked like a fishes head, with a mouth and eye. Glad you both went and chilled, Theo is doing an excellent job on the digger and our commentary is very informative. Love to you both ❤️💙🥰🥰xx

Young cat name, Meraki (Greek) “To do something with love, care, creativity and soul.”.
Loads of water born plants that will oxygenate the water, and perhaps a solar powered fountain to aid oxygenation. Always wanted a pond myself so very excited for this 👍🏻😀🐟🐠🐸
All Theo will talk about right now is the different plants, the water feature, the decking, the water flow, the fish, I could go on 🤣 can’t wait to see what he does with it!

From having so many cats in my life I learnt that tabbies have absolutely the best temperament of all the cats. Idk what it is but they seem to get along the best with other cats, humans and dogs alike.
I’m crazy about water features too, I wish I could build a pond in my garden, I only have a teeny tiny prefab one with a pump.🙂
The sound of running water is so refreshing and relaxing. Life-size Tonka toys--what a dream realized. Looking forward to seeing it completed.
Hey Folks...I love the large new pool that Theo is creating - you can't have too many water storage areas in the sort of location that you're in. It will be great for the local wild life, and in an emergency situation, aerial fire-fighting could utilize it to help fight any fire that comes too close to you, so it's a really good idea to build it (and I can see that Theo loves to play with his little Digger...LOL). And as others have said Bea, it's wonderful to see you laughing and smiling so much. Back to the new pond....you do have a lot of good sized rocks around, so with that, would it be a good idea to place some around that pool to help stabilize the surround and give it some nice aesthetics..??
Oh...and how soon does Theo plan on getting back into his little mountain top retreat cabin..(I know that there are lots of other tasks that will keep you busy....like Olive harvest and mowing your lawns etc..)???
I would be using a metal detector all over the area. There may be incredible, rare coins or pottery on your lovely properties. Everything you two do, turns out magical

The pond will be amazing! And that swimming area - aside from the snake, I don't think it could be more perfect.
Don't forget to put in an overfill pipe or area where excess water can run off and not create any damage. Loving what you do. Yes Bella means beautiful.

Boys and their toys eh!? You have such vision Theo and being the perfectionist that you are it will be absolutely amazing especially in the future when it’s all planted up. You won’t have to go too far for a swim, your own private ‘baths’. Not bad. The kitten is so cute and beautifully marked. Reo link really are the best security system, we had them for years , then this year decided to try a different make , it was a huge mistake,we had to buy new reolink system and I'm so happy we did .

Leave the stones in the pond for habitat. the biggest problem with dam erosion will be from rain washing down from the top and the stones on the sides will not help and may cause more erosion from channeling the run off?
