Learning so much about Brazil from you. Im moving down in a few months. So excited, im learning Portuguese and everything. Definitely dont want to be the 'gringo' when I get out there lol. Keep doing your thing bro.
17:40 I have mention this park 🙋♂xP. Watching the thumbnail video I thought you might be on the "Escadão" (6:00) and I was right. It is quite different from 20 years ago when I used to go to school every day. Olavo Pezzotti, another school of mine down there. You also passed a church where I did catechism and a bakery where my parents bought roast chicken after we left mass. This video is full of memories to me =).

At the 2017 carnaval my friends and I were in República, I noticed a group of guys and realized that they were planning to rob us. I went to them and asked them to drink with us. After a few hours they themselves decided to tell us that they really wanted to rob us, but that they gave up because we were nice. Tips from someone with experience in not getting robbed in São Paulo. I've lived here for 25 years and I've never been robbed. One way to avoid robberies is to always be aware of your surroundings. Thieves won't choose you if you spot them first. Observe the surroundings before leaving the house, walk looking back, sides and forward. DONT keep looking down or up. Look forward and around, head up. Make it appear that you are always attentive and confident. If you spot someone who might pose a threat, make sure they realize you've seen them, BUT DONT BE DEFIANT, make sure they see you've seen them and quickly scan the surroundings, anticipate your escape, or anticipate their approach. NO PANIC. Keep the pace confident. If they still decides to approach, BE VERY COOPERATIVE AND FRIENDLY. You can hate him, but dissemble. Be 'nice' to the thief and depending on you could even ask for your documents or even some money for the bus. Running away may be an option, fighting is not. You need to have a good route and a good plan. If he catches you, just cooperate and try to win his sympathy within 30 seconds. Furthermore, avoid walking around showing valuables, watches, glasses, and notoriously expensive clothes and avoid walking alone.
Thanks for the safety tips. I've never been robbed the whole 3 months ive been in Brazil because I am always aware of my surroundings. I notice that alot of the thieves here are opportunist and will go after easy targets.
Great advices.Just your video is very comparing Brazil and USA, that is for someone who is from other country or continent and watching your video little bit one side perspective or annoying. Otherway, you are making cool videos
Yeah that was a stupid name. I mean it's also a huge territory made up of different States, but still... Pindorama is the name given by the natives. It means land of the palm trees. Funny that the name Brazil also comes from a tree.
@@MarsellisTravels I'm American and speak a few. Where I grew up, second languages were VERY common. Trying to get views by criticizing your country and praising the country you're in has become travelling UA-camrs' calling card. Intellectual honesty, unfortunately, hasn't. It's shallow to placate based on false premises. Brazilians rip on the US all the time and then freak out when an American factually points out a flaw in Brazil. Hypocrisy causes a lot of problems in the world. I'm not a fan.
I’m so sorry for the bitterness you carry in your heart, sir. Are you really trying to compare the richest country on earth with Brasil to feel prideful? You sound like a repressed and arrogant person. And you don’t have the slightest idea about what happens outside your country. Perhaps you can remember a few words in Spanish and French because you may choose to learn them at school, but it doesn’t really mean you can speak another language fluently. Your need to prove “how good you are” shows much about yourself. And honestly, who cares? It’s @Marsellis Travels UA-cam channel and you come here to criticize him? Why are you wasting your time watching a video about Brasil when you have so many reservations against the country? Go mind your own business.

From what I understood, he didn't say that North Americans speak less other languages than Brazilians, he only said that foreigners who come to Brazil are suggested to know the local language because when people go to the United States, North Americans expect foreigners to also know their language. I didn't understand what was wrong with his speech. I'm not fluent in English but I understand relatively well and what I understood was this.
