I guess I was mistaken in my review on the PS3 page for this game. Without Alex Trebek or Johnny Gilbert, as well as typing in your own response or typing in your response until the response you need is there is a downright bummer.
I hate to say it, but I think we need something like a "voice recognition" device so that we can SAY the answers, and get them registered in the game. Jeopardy NEEDS this, unlike other quiz shows because it is a fast paced game.
To be honest...yes, I did expect typing. The older versions did exactly that, with a much longer timer. (And a few mid-90s versions also had an auto-complete feature that let you just type the first few letters.) After years of Jeopardy games like that, switching to multiple choice is kinda jarring.
it sounds so empty without any voices! even the snes version, released in 1992 had samples of alex trebek and that was only 8 megebits (1MB) in size! i was actually thinking of buying this. thanks for this video. you saved me $10.79!! i'm guessing that's why sony doesn't have a preview of this. NO ALEX....NO SALE!
I love Jeopardy and love playing it on my PS2, but I'll be honest...I'm very tempted to get this game for my PS3 mainly because I'd like to get a full version of that theme music. :-D hehe
Look at it this way: If you don't have a frikkin' clue what the answer is, you still have a 1 in 4 chance of getting it right anyway. If you have a slight idea at all you're easily 50/50 or better even if you still have to guess. This is insanely easier than having to cook up an answer from scratch. Example: I may not know 14th century poets, but I know Robert Frost wasn't from the 14th century and can cross him off my guess, neh?
@Angie2343 I'll do it for them..... "Now entering the studio are today's contestants. A Lawyer from Bridgemouth, Conneticut, Bookie McPractice. A Forensic Pychologist from Aurora, Illinois, James Waddlesworth. AANNNDDD OUR RETURNING CHAMPION. A SOCIAL FILMMAKING COMMENTATOR FROM SANTA ANNA, CALIFORNIA. WHO'S 3-DAYS'... CASH WINNINGS... TOTAL 78-THOUSAND-6-HUNDRED-AND-FIFTY-TWO DOLLARS. And Now. The Host of Jeopardy. ALEX TREBECK!." *fake applause* "Thank you Johnny Gilbert."
This "Jeopardy!" game has VERY POOR QUALITY!!!! There is no host, no voice acting.... and MULTIPLE CHOICE!?! That is a far cry from what we've come to expect from the "Jeopardy!" format!!!
There are so many jeopardy games, but they seem to be getting worse and worse. The player's frustrated animations shouldn't be there (they're not there in the actual show) and you should get the option to have older sets if you want. like the 80's and 90's sets if you like them, not just the modern junk.
@Ranzear Well, shit, I think we have misread each other here. I didn't read all the comments, so I was thinking you were saying multiple choice was a GOOD thing. My fault. I apologize.
The PS3 version I have is better than this Alex Trebek was actually in the game(his voice and his figure/body). This online version looks bad. Same with Wheel and Pat and Vanna actually being in the game
ok...this looks good...however....its boring when alec trebeks voice is not reading the categories or the answer.....it makes it seem like just another cheap game.
the multiple choice kills this.
Music: Jeopardy Theme 2001 and Jeopardy Road Show theme
SFX: Applause(if correct)
Boos(if incorrect)(I think)
Alex Trebek or Johnny Gilbert weren't even hired to to their voices in this version of Jeopardy!.
They would have made this game TRULY perfect. But the good news is that you can CREATE them as custom characters.
Multiple Choice would make this sooo easy.
Multiple choice for Jeopardy sucks to begin with, but the wrong answers are so god-awful stupid. I mean, water soccer?!

The Wii version has it.

this would be 100x better if they g
ot Alex Trebeck to do voicover
In the PC Version You Had to type them in. There was no Multiple choice like this and It felt a little more Challenging.
The announcer voiced the answers in the PC games. That would've been okay, as well.
And there's Alex's podium right there!
mark as in mark hammil lol

Can you try Wheel of Fortune?
Anyone else think Mark looks like Jemaine from Flight of the Conchords?

Nice!
Good to see all this PS3 "power" put to good use... What a fucking joke!
They would have made this game TRULY perfect. But the good news is that you can create custom characters.
@christopherlacroix Pretty much. XD Johnny too! I'd love to hear them say my name.
Multiple Choice!!!!!!
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Multiple choice? That fucking ruins the game. Even the Sega Genesis version didn't have multiple choice.
BAKED NEVADA?! Hahahaha oh wow.
Yes Unless back in the day you had a really fast phone to look the answer up lol

@ThePatrickinator Maybe Alex TURNED himself invisible.

yea really! im surprised there isn't a phone-a-friend or ask-the-audience option
Alex get the day off?
Maybe3 he turned invisible in this game.
This version looks kind of boring. Maybe it could be an invisible host instead of Alex.
Hmm im sensing someone (or multiple) people to send this to the game grumps...
XD
when you bought jeopardy can you share me
@Ranzear

yeah i would want voices. im not buying it for 14.99
maybe if it did some kind of discount drop one week to 5.99 id get it but it wont xD
@crazymiles Haha, you listen to Opeth...
i had it for ps1 it was much better, and it had alex trebek's voice at least!
@tylernuefeld I agree!
Yo lo llamo el jeropardi
the sega genesis look better then this
@christopherlacroix XDDDDDD
What a waste of a PS3. Lousy graphics, and no voices.
yeah doesn't seem worth it for 15 bucks
ok...this looks good...however....its boring when alec trebeks voice is not reading the categories or the answer.....it makes it seem like just another cheap game.
my game boy pocket version was more fun than this.
