- I'm FINALLY starting my winter island, and I wanted to get a few holiday builds out of the way: a Christmas market, hot cocoa stand with a toy drive, and a festive ice rink. Let me know what other builds you want to see on my winter island, preferably a little less holiday-themed!

I think you should set your DA to night bc night time in the winter is always so pretty with the lights and how bright the snow is
how do you do that?
@@iwannafly-ud4my your dream address is set to the same time and weather that it is when you set it. So if you want it to be raining and dark then when it’s those conditions you can set it at that time. You might have to time travel and experiment a little until you get the exact conditions you want though.
@Maura Tyson this is so helpful to read and to knw for future for when the time comes for me to set a da on both my island's. Ty, even tho I wasn't the original person who questioned that.

I think for the ice rink I would get rid of the illuminated deer just because they take up so much space when the ice rink is already smaller. Just the tree in the center feels like enough without overpowering the ice rink itself. Other than that I think all the areas look so cute, love the hot cocoa truck idea and the Santa’s Workshop area!
i was thinking the same thing, maybe she can put the reindeer on the outside of the fence somewhere around the rink instead if she still wants to keep them or maybe infront of the elevated path she made for the rink

Agreed! Or even just changing the color of the illuminated items in the ice rink build
5:58 idk if you know this but when your villagers ask you to do a treasure hunt and you find the treasure it comes in a little gift box and as soon as you find it just close the game without opening it or talking to the villager and go back in and it will be like a lost item and you can drop it on the ground :3

I think the ice rink is so cute! I personally would just change the colors of the fences around the ice rink (for exemple blue would fir quite well) and I would use simple panels to hide the second level where the inclines are.. you could use a cute pattern for the simple panels so it can look like a festive building😁
Suggestion: If you have the patience, you can shoot balloon gifts into the gift parking lot!
you can also place wrapped gifts in the spot as well for something different just wrap a few items and drop them :)

I loved how everything turned out, very cute and good holiday vibes. I do feel like the ice rink seemed too busy or cramped. Once you had everything put up, i kinda lost that it is an ick rink. Maybe expanding the ice rink size to be bigger or removing the reindeer from the ick rink itself? Placing them around either side out of the ice rink could be really cute and help make the rink seem bigger❤️

I would have the benches on the cliff facing the ice rink, since you built it to overlook the ice rink. Also, I'd move the toy drive under that flag arch you put in front of the food truck. and I love your market as is. :)
you could wrap something in wrapping paper for the parking lot!

For the ice rink, I think instead of the benches the steel fence item would look nice and it only takes up half a tile

I think you should add a sign for the toy drive! Maybe a small collection table?
Watching this really makes me want to jump on my island but when I do I just sit and stare. 😭 Plus the LAG! I have barely a quarter or third done and it lags so bad in that area.

I was knee deep in starting my halloween island, and then now it's almost New Year's Lol.
For just a solo gift item, you could either wrap an item and then drop it, or possibly drop a present from a balloon? Something like that if that makes sense
for the bridge thing I would use a green tree instead of the white one, I think that will fix it

you can have a "gift item" when a villager gives you a gift to bring to someone and you dont for 2-3 days you can just drop it anywhere you want (and thus even walk over it I think)
you do have to keep it in your inventory for those days and obviously not open it yourself but at some point it wont say 'to: villager' but 'what was that again..?'

You should do a DA at night, and add spot lights that face the ice rink. And if the trees around it were the Christmas tree a instead of regular hardwood? Also personally, I would’ve pulled back the overpass by one square, so you can see the edge of the rink. And instead of the fencing in front, put it behind. And then set up stall to “pay” for your skates where you have the snow angel. And like little benches for people to sit on and put their skates on? You get the vibe? Lol

How do you collect all your furniture? I have 130 hours or more in amnh and only now just started flattening my word because I got bored but I have like no items basically even with the dlc installed
Playing through the DLC gives you a lot of furniture for your catalogue! Nooks cranny obv, the dlc has a store, and the nookstop ordering machine! But also trades and some people will visit treasure islands hosted by twitch streamers :0
