Thank you so much...i have just crocheted my first 2 african flowers and joined them together. You have made what was previously a tortureous ordeal into a relaxing and enjoyable (and totally addictive) hobby.
I am new at crocheting and I follow this video and I actually did it. Need to practice more. I love that way bella coco talks through it slowly. Thank you x
I love how she tells the viewers the US name for the UK treble stitch. I live in the US and it really helped a lot. I love your channel Bella! It's by far the best tutorial crocheting channel I've ever seen :D
Thank you. I tried to do a granny hexagon from other tutorials as thought it would be easier. But I quickly came back to you as you work at such a good pace and are good at explaining things. I actually found this flower EASIER than a hexagon!
Started to crochet again after many years of not doing it.....love your easy to follow videos! Thanks to you I have the confidence I can crochet again:-))))
I love your channel! You go slowly and you speak clearly. I love that you go down a row, tell us to stop the video and finish that row before we start the video again to the next part. Any other video I've watched I had to stop and start on my own which meant reverse/forward several times. You are my only tutorial from now on!!
This tutorial was amazing, i am going to use this patter for a wedding afghan for my Grandson and Grand-daughter-in-law. Wow, will be great, I will try to remember to post it when done.
Finally thank god I found you... I love how you go slow and in detail showing us how to create this piece. Thanks a million for doing this tutorial I can't wait to try it. Could you show how to create a pineapple or spider stitch scarf or blanket please.
You have enabled me to extend my crochet skill to more thsn just beanie hats! I am now making a blanket and your tutorials with their easy to follow instructions ate what has made this possible - thank you!❤
I just started crochet in March 2015 and I used your granny square tut to make a blanket(it was one giant square...lol) and now your African flower for a baby blanket. I'm so scared to assemble it but I am trying. THANK YOU SO MUCH for your help.
This has helped me so much, I love your soothing voice and your tutorial was so easy to follow.. I am now hooked on these flowers and can't wait to finish afghan and find more of your videos...
I love this design I'm currently making these to make a blanket for my daughter. would also like to say thank you for making your videos so clear and easy to follow as I am a beginner in this craft.
Hi Bella, Thanks to yours and other tutorials I am creating an amazing bedspread for my little nieces birthday. It is coming along greatly (after having worked on it for over a year) and I am nearing the end.... (she said positively hahaha).. Anyways.. I was searching for a video tutorial on how to make HALF a flower hexagon and I discovered that there are very few of them on youtube. 1 person uses a different method of making the flower than I am and the other person's video is of poor quality near the end.. There are a few in other languages.. but your tutorials are always very clear and very good to follow.. Could you please make a tutorial for half an African flower?
Found a UA-cam pattern for an African flower turtle that's in a different language, cc is in English for the assembly but not for the individual African flowers! Thank you so much for your tutorial on how to make the African flowers!! ❤️ I just hope that I'm not working them too loosely to stuff.
I just finished making the African Flower! It came out beautifully!! Thank you so much for your tutorials! You make me want to join UA-cam & start making videos of my own... Maybe one of these days I will get up the courage to do so ;-)
I love your tutorial's that I have tried so far. Would you be able at some point to do a half African flower tutorial at some point for making blankets? Thanks for all your help so far sharing your skills.
Thank you so much for sharing, I am literally just learning how to crochet, your tutorial is very good I can follow it no problem at all, I have subscribed to you and I'm looking forward to learning more! 😄 THANK YOU
I’ve been crocheting for 4 days thanks to your absolute beginner series. Those videos are nice and easy to follow with clear instructions and visuals. I figure I’d hop into making these as I know all the stitches needed but it is much harder to follow as an absolute beginner while it doesn’t need to be. One spot for example in when making round 2 you say “into every chain space of the last row” but there is no explanation or visual of what a chain space looks like vs a space where you should not put trebbles into. As a result I thought I needed to put them between every trebble of the last row and it looked ridiculous, haha! I frogged and am now trying to figure out what to do and where to put the trebbles but it isn’t very clear to see in the video. This pattern is great though, maybe it is a good candidate for an update? Would love to see half and square african flowers as well!
Thank you, I’m glad you like the pattern 😊 An African Flower is quite a tricky one to attempt for an absolute beginner so well done - a good tip to help you identify the chain spaces is to use stitch markers to loop through them as you make them. Then, on the next round, you can easily see where the chain spaces are. I do have a tutorial on how to turn your flowers into a square here: ua-cam.com/video/Il6oni271Dc/v-deo.html 😊
I love your video tutorials - it's how I finally learned to crochet. It would be really helpful if there was a written pattern to print off that accompanies the video though as it would act as a reminder until you really get into the rhythm of it. I notice you do things slightly different to other African Flower patterns. i.e. you put 2 chain sts in between the 2 trebles in round 2 and others show 1 chain. And on round 3 you use a slip stitch to connect the 7 trebles and others dont. I'm fascinated by this as I tried both patterns and they look very similar to my inexperienced eye.
Good tutorial. I've found a sweet little mouse tutorial made of african flower motif. However it is in a foreign language with no subtitles so I'm lost. He made 3 different sizes of the same type but didn't show how to make the largest. As a newbie crocheter I need directions. Could you do a tutorial on how to make the same pattern in different finished sizes? Sure would be great!
I'm a newbie and decided to try your African flower it is coming out great but it's curling up why? Thanks for the tutorial I want to make a blanket with this pattern... simply lovely! !
thank u for every thing . i like very way ur explanation . i learned a lot from u being a initially structured filling crochet . i would like to explain to us the way the triangle and u very much .

Bella, I love your videos! I have just picked up crocheting again after some time and your videos are great to help me brush up! I love your colors on this flower? Are the colors and the brand listed some where? Thank you so much!!
Thank you for this video. It would be really helpful if in addition the row pattern was written in the top corner to follow along. I’m familiar with how to do stitches but like to check the position to place stitch
How do I get a picture of this African flower square & print the pattern I have watched the video a few times & now need to learn to read the pattern & follow it. I am a beginner & love your videos.
Thank you so much for your wonderful video on how to make an African flower! I am new to this UA-cam and I am so happy I found you! You are a wonderful teacher! I was also wondering what type of yarn did you use for these beautiful flowers? Thanks 💜
I was just wondering if you happen to have a video on how to turn your crocheted African flower into a pentagon?!? I've been learning your flowers and pattern to make a pillow but I can't find a tutorial that makes the pentagon with the same about of stitches!?!? Please help!!! :) it's for our new baby due in the end of May!!
Hi, my flowers are all done and it's going very well for the assembly, I have a question regarding the large gap on the edge, do you recommend making a half flower or do you leave it as is? Thank you
That comes down to personal preference; there's no need to make a half flower as long as you are happy with the finished look, but some people prefer to make them to square the blanket off 😊
Hello-Thank-you so much for this-I have wanted to learn this pattern since I saw it on Pinterest. It's very beautiful. I have a question: When you say "Clarks Yarn" do you mean "Red Heart Yarn?" Will you list the colors names and the yarn company please. thank-you sincerely Lilly
Thank you. If you follow this link it will give you all the project details :- bellacococrochet.com/how-to-crochet-the-african-flower/ Hope this helps :)
Hi Bella just wanted to ask about the hexagon flower as in when you joined all together to make blanket how do you finish of with border all way round or do you leave it as a zig zag shape if you know what I mean thanks xx
how big are they supposed to be? mine seem to be co.ing out fairly large. I tried tightening my stitches and using a smaller hook but they're still big. any suggestions?
this may be a strange question, but would I be able to incorporate this pattern into a blanket made up of sunburst granny squares? not to sure if they count would be different when the African flower gets turned into a square. :/

I had been slowly working through this video following your actions and reading for extra information. I was horrified at all the technical wordings!! Then it clicked. your double crochets that you are calling uk trebles are actually uk doubles! and on the second round you keep saying trebles then doubles!
