I do jewelry you have a lot more than you think. Your looking at 50.000 at least, the old costume jewelry is just as valuable as the orther because of the age. Make use you have someone who can give value of all of. Real and costume. Grate find, love you and George found it, you work so hard you deserve it.
Not necessarily. I also do jewelry and have for 30+ years and I have probably 4 large totes full of costume and very few are worth large amounts of money since 1940-1970 jewelry was generally mass produced. There are a few names to watch for but Made in Japan, Sarah Coventry, Coro, Monet and Lisner are very mass produced.

Those emeralds 10:48 are worth more than $40 more like $4000. They are top quality. What a great unit. I am a jewelry junkie so I was drooling over the jewelry. Some of that old costume jewelry is worth quite a bit. Especially the ones that have the makers mark on them. I kept saying wow too. 40:10 that's a compact for powder you should be able to open it further and find a place for the powder underneath .

@RealestRealist yep....I have been collecting silver since I was 16...I started off with a silver baby spoon I found at a yard sale for a .25....and it's been a high ever since.....the thrill of the hunt..though my kids think I should melt it all down, I have memories wrapped up in mist pieces..who I was with, the thrill of finding a piece etc...though today's market it's pretty hard to find a piece..people have smart up and know what they have..but every now and then a piece slips through and my adrenaline starts all over!!!

Please look up Native American rings and jewelry - it is worth a lot of money turquoise come in green , light blue, and any shades of green and blue. Some of the stones are American , the Middle East, and other countries. Most of the jewelry you have found is made by Navajos of the Southwest USA.

Its true that they do the superbowl jewelry, however they also do a lot of the jewelry that you an order for graduation. The graduation jewelry is real, but usually not the best quality gold and stones. My high school ring was made by them, and was only 10k gold with some kind of lab created stone.

Yeap it said 4000 on the box. It was earrings, ring and pendant. Looked like emaralds, and if they were and flawless. They would be worth 4k. The stuff in the jewelry box and the wooden one after looks more like high end costume jewelry. Great for period TV or theater for the 1920s to 1960s.

The appraisals on most of that gold jewelry are out of date. You can't find gold jewelry under $100 except tiny little gold studs or pearl earrings where only the posts are gold. The gold won't be much thicker than foil. The things you were pulling were quality pieces, it was obvious. If the green set is emeralds, it was probably Brazilian emeralds and worth a heck of a lot of money. 14K is even higher - almost anything under 100 is 10K gold.
Also, don't dismiss thread between pearls. Top-quality pearls are knotted between each individual pearl, so if the string breaks you don't lose all the pearls.

10:10 I think you may have read that all wrong, as Emerald is consistently valued higher than Diamond. You're probably looking at 4-5 thousand dollars on those pieces.
My sister from another mother had a heart transplant in June and almost didn't make it and she loves opals I would be interested in the 5 stone opal ring to celebrate her new life.... It was valued at 400.00.

I saw the beaded multicoloured necklace. I seen the stamp Italy. Check if the other stamp says murano. If this is Italian gold the beads may be glass hand blown in italy. Very very expensive. With all the opals and the pin with the pink stone in it which appeared to be a rose zircon someone was probably born in October as those are the October birthstones. Very nice jewelry collection. They need to be appraised again though as the price of gold goes up and down which greatly affects the value of the jewelry.

If finding pearls and not sure put pearl on teeth and scrape a little with teeth if gritty feeling it's a real pearl.
Nope. Don't rub pearls on your teeth. It isn't the way to find real pearls, cultured sometimes but never the real ones. Besides who's mouth last rubbed their teeth on the necklace or whatever and mouth area? Ick. Germs. Real pearls are heavier and move like silk in your hand they move together on a strand in a liquid flow. The gleam is deeper and has more glow to it. Hard to explain so I would suggest doing what I did, go to a real jewelry shop and ask kindly if they would show you the difference because you don't want to waste peoples time with junk. That you often come across jewelry but don't know much about it beyond marks and testing. They will more likely be helpful. Take a few business cards and tell them how you come across this stuff. See if you can work a deal out. Remember check BBB and all the on line sites. You can also ask the cop shop if they have any issues business or personal. Don't ask what unless you have a badge or ID with FBI clearance. Oh and often a warrant depending on how local you are and how your cop shop operates. WOW I wish I lived out there. Regards .
