Whoever the choreographer is for this series should be permanently hired to work on the entire Star Wars franchise.
its nowhere near as good as it was in the prequels, the thing that is tricking you into thinking the fights are good is the editing and camera movements. if you want to see a good fight scene search up the macbeth sword fight
Fighting choreography from this episode it's totally different from what we see till now, dialogue etc. it's was quite ok .
@@kitlow2970 hell nah people try so hard to be on denial, im a huge fan of prequels but this was better than most of the duels in the them ngl, those camera tricks have always been used with choreographies, even in the prequels
Dont try to take away the merit from everything, to be honest, the only mindblowing duels from the prequels were when Obi Wan was alone against Maul, and the Anakin VS Obi Wan duel, the rest are normal duels who are easily at the level of this
@kitlow2970 I disagree. The prequel fights were ass. Especially when they involved a cgi Yoda hopping all over the place. It just looked goofy. The only one that anyone ever remembers is the Duel of Fates fight, and in my opinion, I thought the Maul fight was better. The thing about the fights in this show is that they look like actual fights. Like the characters are actually trying to kill each other. Whereas a lot of the prequel fights (and the sequel fights too) look clearly choreographed. Like one person does their action and then they wait for the other person to make their move. And it just goes back and forth. Watch the Ahsoka show if you really want to see what I mean. They are the worst offender of bad fight choreography.
@kedvesionutmarian8593 Yes because this is the first real lightsaber battle of the show. Up until now, it's been a mix of hand-to-hand and defensive fighting. In this episode, characters were going for the kill. And the choreography reflected that.
The most surprising thing this episode did is bring Cortosis armor from the books and comics into live action. It’s a material that nullifies blaster shots and temporarily disables lightsabers. It’s incredibly rare and even harder to refine into armor.
and don't forget fatally toxic to organics, they mainly used it in droids
And even better it kepts its properties from legends too! It was noted on old canon Cortosis, in pure conditions, is remarkably brittle... So it getting broken by Jecki is really cool.
I only know of it due to it's use in Jedi Outcast, where the Empire's Shadow Troopers used it.
I think that's something they've done a lot in this series. Someone picked up the Star Wars encyclopedia and pulled a lot of hidden gems from books, comics and games.
sounds like a very good plot armor
Jeckies fighting is the exact shit i wanted to see Ahsoka do in her show. Honestly some of the best choreography we've had in SW live action tho
Agreed!
In the Disney era
@@hawkeyemihawkgettingmoneylord I won't speak on the OT since they kinda do their own thing so i think it's dumb to compare, but these fights were so much better than those in the prequel movies. Only one that stands on top is duel of the fates
@@Exnaut_ Prequel fights are the best in star wars.
Jeckies was a fierce fighter R.I.P
"There's a kyber crystal in there, why would you leave that behind?"
To be fair, bodies are dropping in that forest at a rapid pace and Jekki just went one on one with a Sith Assassin, who, may I remind you, disappeared when she looked down. I don't think the first thing she's thinking of is, "I better collect these before we leave."
I hate that reactors think you should be acting rationally in situations like that. It's the first time she's experiencing things like that. Fellow jedi being killed . All the training in the world and you still freak out. Ask anyone who's been in battle like myself and certain fellow soldiers
@@ghostlee6434 Exactly, I picture myself in a dangerous scenario and have to admit to myself, "Yeah I might be too on edge to really grasp everything go on at the moment." It's not hard to understand that while she's part of the Jedi Order, she's still a Padawan who's never faced a threat like that and has likely never seen her comrades butchered like that. Your mind is processing a mIllion things at once, ON TOP of what I said before that the dude legit disappeared when she looked down for a sec. You're not thinking, "Let me save this kyber crystal for next time." You're thinking, "Crap where did he go, I need to get outta here."
I honestly love how brutal and aggressive Qimir's fighting is.
Acharas comment about not having money for a choreographer was hilarious, considering that this episode had some of the very best and most dynamic fight choreographys in Star Wars history. 😎
The metal is Cortosis( Beskar is an alloy) and it can withstand the blow of a lightsaber and briefly short out its blade.
Question, since the new Thrawn books are canon: in the Legends, cortosis was a metal, but in the new canon books wasn't it depicted as a fiber, a mineral that had to be woven or fashioned into armor with another base material? Either way, yeah, it's cortosis.
this. Also like the detail they fight through it. Cortosis only protected him from lightsabers but when he got hand to hand smacked in the face it didn't protect him at all, the helmet just broke and fell off. 😂
I'm so glad they introduced this element because not only does ark and back to the Jedi sith War, which I imagine both factions had very samurai like armor and fighting tactics, which I hope we get to see one day, especially on the big screen. But one of the biggest problems with just lightsaber battles is that because of how lethal and the 360 cutting edge of the lightsaber removes a lot of the sword fighting Dynamics that you would see in actual sword fighting, such as on a downswing stepping on your opponent's sword so it can't move and then you get a free strike kill. Adding lightsaber, resistive stuff and other elements is what makes these sword fights actual fights and I hope they keep this up.
@benschroeder4036 so it's a essentially THREADED through the armor....😂😂. I'm excited they included this, great defense to block a lightsaber and creates a weakness with it
Keeps talking small non canon stuff from legends.
Sith reasoning, "I killed a child, but you brought her here so it's your fault." 🤣
By his logic, the Jedi made her a combatant. She died fighting like they instructed her to.
@@lordmorklen5166 You comment is defiantly on point, but his comment was way better.
No Star Wars media just "stays in the fight", even the movies cut to other stuff during the duels.
yep, the og of og's had only one lightsaber fight and they cut away three different times 😄
So many reactors are so negative at the start of this episode lol, saying "there's no action!" only for the rest of the ep to be all action.
and about 25% of that action was good, terrible camera work, shitty lighting in the damn dark. Haven't they learned from Game of Thrones, that is a stupid choice to make.
@@Kanoog nah. It was great. I saw everything perfectly. Maybe it's your screen setting? Just saying
As has been pointed out many times, the only GOOD thing about this series so far has been the fight choreography. That's it.
@@Kanoog LMAO WHAT?? You mean the first couple shots of the fight? Where they were purposely hiding some of it to buildup to the actual fights?? Give me a break bro
Y'all. These Jedi have ZERO experience fighting a Sith. None. They don't know what he is even. That's why they're taken by surprise.
He made them also angry and frustrated. That's what happened to Jecki 😢😢😢
Let's also not forget that he got in their heads like yord mentioned to osha. But what really hurt then the most isn't so much that they aren't used to fighting with anymore but the general disdain of the Jedi in this era of actual lethal combat. They lightsaber training had at by this point in time essentially become armed yoga. It was just an exercise routine they practiced but didn't really take seriously. I'm fact they considered the more aggressive forms like form 5 as being too violent looked down on actually training in it.
@@sakisaotome6753 I love how "Darth teeth" is doing every he can to win like attacking the hilt and using other people as shield. Dooku, Ventress, Kylo and even movie Vader were trained as jedis and play nice swordmanship. Maul was trying to prove himself and the Inquisitors were padawans or novice jedis. But this is how a sith or at least how a real dark user would really figth.
FACTS - It's like if the Predator showed in your town and starting killing people. Nobody would have a clue how to deal with him.
This. They are used to peace and it shows that only the most powerful ones, like Sol, are able to stand against Sith and even then they have issues with fighting them. It feels so good to see such a great actor portray a Sith that is ruthless and wipes the floor with Jedi.
According to what the show tells us, they were investigating some rogue Jedi before, but nothing like this - a trained Sith who uses combat styles that are not part of the order's teachings.
"Imagine they just skipped the fight." Y'all weren't ready lol
“Oh we know him he’s not gonna die.”
Just a crick in the neck he’s fine 😬
😂😂 he'll walk it off
Zod's snapped neck
He's a force ghost now.
LMAO
stabbed 3x with lightsaber... me waiting for healing factor to kick in 🥲
she's X-23, so she will be back soon. I hope so lol. She died too soon...too soon...can't believe it.🤧
They stabbed our girl three times to leave no chance for "somehow she survived" 😭😭🤣🤣
Maybe Kophar is the place they'll discover bacta... Everyone wakes up in a few days, all injuries healed. 😅😅😅
Honestly I'm just waiting for her to send a distress beacon next episode, or a later episode, saying that she's alive. Disney's made lightsaber stabbings as lethal as a papercut or broken arm. Kylo Ren survived cause Rey is a Mary-Sue, Grand Inquistor survived, Reva survived TWICE, Sabine survived, and most likely, Barriss survived being stabbed. That's 6 lightsaber stabbings that people have survived since Disney took over with only Han Solo dying from being stabbed.
Then the claws come out and she starts slicing.
Qimir's helmet and arm guards are probably made of cortosis weave armor, which was resistant to lightsabers and could create an energy feedback loop that would temporarily shut down a lightsaber.
it may be canon but that is some fan fiction level bs. if that stuff actually existed all the sith would wear full body armour of it, darth vader would be covered from head to toe in it.
@@kitlow2970 I think it was supposed to be super rare and very fragile raw until it was woven into armor. In other words, not everyone would have it and even when they found it, there was a process to working into armor.
@@kitlow2970Yeah just like How modern-day soldiers have armor that's entirely made out of titanium encrusted in diamond. 🙄
Respect To Jecky The Most, Cause she Went Out Like A Full True Jedi Being the MVP Of this episode against The Sith Master, RIP Gonna Miss her alot for Sure ! ! !🫡
Darth Smily (likely Venamis) is a sith apprentice, not a master, hence the student is called an acolyte. His master is most likely Darth Tenebrous, master of Darth Plagueis. The latter is Darth Sidius' (Palpatine) master.
@RM1969RM makes quite of Sense even Tho i still find it Intresting that some Peapol Are Refering him as a first Knight of ren kinda or perhaps being An Inspiration for Kylo ren Helmet with his actual theme that's slipped in there.
@@groundbreaker1052 The first knight of Ren is Ren himself, and I'm not sure he was even born by the time Acolyte took place. As far as the helmet goes, Sith helmets all look similar: A sith helmet's purpose is to amplify powers, and its roots go back thousands of years to their their warrior era during which Sith armies fought Jedi armies in mass in battlefields across the galaxy. You can notice similarities with Mandalorian helmets because they have the same ancient origins. However as time passed, the Mandalorian helmet took a more warrior-like look (resembling spartans) while Sith helmets took a more German Stahlhelm look (tyrranical). Most sith stopped wearing helmets in the last centuries as they changed tactics from direct combat to deception, and the mask became a relic of a bygone era. This coincides with the Sith growing stronger as a whole in recent times through the rule of two (more force divided by fewer individuals), a more selective apprenticeship (fewer but more talented Siths) & having Darths who lived much longer (due to being hidden, practicing and not being lost in endless wars). Darth Venamis, who is the one in this show, is one of the WEAKEST modern-age Siths, which might explain why he needs the helmet!
@@groundbreaker1052that is because the Kylo Ren theme played when seeing Qimir here.
I'll never treat the beginner cortosis blade I get in KoTR badly ever again.
Idk why everyone thought they were going to skip the fight. When has Star Wars ever backed away from a lightsaber fight?
"Do they not have the budget for a choreographer?" Before one of the best, most complex, most intricately-crafted, longest fight scenes we've ever had in Star Wars.
I'm mostly kidding, I had the same thoughts at the start of the episode bc we've seen Star Wars and Marvel pull the same thing so often where they cheap out on the budget for action sequences. But this episode delivered on that front at least.
Achara’s takes this episode were pretty… off lol
@@Lillian.Gao.it’s a play by play. Her reaction is happening in real time and we show that.
@@CinePals Yeah but at the end of the episode you’re still complaining 💀
@@ozeramo just keeping our feelings transparent and real.
@@CinePalsAcolite episode 5 is the best star wars thing I have ever seen. These fights and choreography surpassed both the Phantom Menace movie and the clone wars episode.
I think the opening text was referring to Qimir as the lone assassin, who risks discovery to seek revenge. Mae wasn’t really out for revenge, she was on a mission that was given to her by her master. Qimir was the one who was out for blood.
Achara sees Yord: we know him he's not gonna die

He took them out at break neck speed 😂
@@TwistedReality13 dude.....
1:20 "We know him , He is not gonna die " xD
This Sith Lord is by far the most deadly one we have seen!
Achara literallly every single person watching this show knew who the master was.
😂😂
😂😂 Darth Gimp was an obvious reveal indeed.
It was the Asian dude, right?
It was like that Sauron revelation in Rings of Power LOL
15:43 It's Cortosis. It shorts out Light Sabres. Which is why they spark for a bit and then come back on. The Siths arm guard and helmet were made from Cortosis.
We need to see the events from Mae's perspective. That flashback ep felt VERY one way.
Also, Sith reasoning, "Jedi, you won't let me murder with impunity, run amok and cause chaos! How dare you!"
Its the best episode so far.
Jecki got that triple tap treatment. Dude said too mamy of ya'll survive the single wound to the gut.
I LOVED this episode, he's the most accurate portrayal of the sith. Everything he does is to gaslight his enemies and instill doubt and rage within them. He shows that he doesn't care about killing any of these Jedi, they are just in his way to killing his betraying pupil and doesn't commit to killing them until his helmet is removed and they see his face.
This episode has put this series in the top 10 of all star wars content.
Some good choreography doesn't atone for 5 episodes of bad writing.
Imagine caring this much
Leave him/her alone you guys. Everyone has the right to enjoy this series.
This episode actually saddens me, because it's a clear reminder of what the rest of the show could've been had they put a bigger effort in writing and directing. Such a wasted potential...
@@georgezee5173 u are pathetic
First live action use of cortisis, exactly like in the books. It disrupts lightsabers but was rare.
So his helmet and bracet are made of cortosis, its a brittle metal that can short out lightsabers
I interpreted Qimir saying "And let you read my thoughts" as meaning, that showing his face allows Sol to read his expression, not his literal thoughts.
Mmmm no, we see Sol read Mae thoughts in the 2nd ep. You couldn't tell me who your master was if you wanted" And Yord says that the Sith was getting in his head and staying there again bringing up force mind reading.
Sol clearly has that talent.
Cortosis is a Material that disrupts lightsabers used mainly by anchient Sith Before they discovered how to make thier own Sabers. It was first shown in 90 SW Dark Horse Comics.
Jaby is impatient. This show is a mystery. We've only seen the first half and the second half jsut started and he's all like "Give it to us NOW." Buddy, we all feel the same way, you jsut gotta chill out and let what happens happen, if you can.
Wow...I didn't know the Sith guy is jacked af! I thought he was a regular slim dude. 😂
"Are you for real? That's what's gonna take him out?!"
Well, hey - General Grievous got overwhelmed by a bunch of Gungans once, soo....
Jaby can be so frustrating because he knows that story should not be told but revealed. Also, he finally recognized that the show runner is making a show as if it was a movie split in 8ths or 10ths.
Why is the choreography in thia fight better than any of the choreography in the sequels?
Whoever was responsible for that fight should be put on the next Star Wars movie.
Better than most of the prequel fights too
If they fought like this in the sequels people would still complain about Rey and Finn automatically knowing how to be expert fighters. Plus, Kylo Ren used his lightsaber like a broadsword.
Only answer: Christopher Clark Cowan. Look him up!
shang chi choreographer. insane!!!
The choreography in the sequels was great. It was pretty popular when the movies came out. Especially kylo's style - adam driver was praised for that.
If I'm being honest, I think you're being extra nitpicky and critical of this episode just for the sake of it. The consensus even among people who didn't click with the previous episodes is that this one totally slaps. It's fine to praise the fight choreography unreservedly, no need to caveat it. The choreography WAS excellent, fluid and smooth and had a level of frenzy not seen in a long time.
No they are not. The fights were good. The story telling and implications were still lazy and bad.
They keep talking about mystery, repeatedly like they are trying to imply it so many times over all these episodes without any info. If you dont wanna reveal it yet, stop mentioning it every second scene. It gets jarring after the 5th time.
The way that mae keeps flip flopping, is bad and doesnt make any sense.
Sol not realizing at the end that she is not osha is also cheap and so dumb considering he is a master.
There is even more things that are just lazy or bad and they didnt touch on any of those so no, they are not being nitpicky
It was certainly a better episode, but that does not eliminate the subpar writing still present in the show
it seems like Star Wars fans have little media literacy nowadays. Short attention spans where they want everything revealed all at once and they don't consider any subtext unless its explicitly mentioned to the camera by an actor
It;s a mystery show, of course they're going to mention the mystery. I agree that its dragging, but buildup is what makes it impactful, people with tiktok attention spans want everything spoonfed all at once
Mae's "flip-flopping" makes sense because shes in a changing situation. She learns her sister is alive, so she doesn't need to work with the master anymore because the main manipulation is disproven. She learns her master is here, so she runs to avoid being killed or forced to be his apprentice again. She has an opportunity to get closer to Sol, and we'll get to see if you actually let the show tell its damn story.
Sol definitely knows its Mae from sensing, her hair, her demeanor and her tattoo. He is going to see what Mae's plan is, as well as get an opportunity to explain his guilt to Mae (like we saw with the other three Jedi from that day).
Again, let the show tell its damn story.
@@Nalphawhy is everyone using "media literacy" or "media illiterate "? All of a sudden? It's hilarious how people just parrot one another.
10:25 "he's too dangerous to be left alive!"
We all knew the Sith was going to be the Ezra Miller looking guy
lol, my thoughts exactly!
"Why would you leave a Kyber crystal behind" Yeah you're right, she shouldn't help with the fight and start cleaning and disassembling all those sabers for their crystals
That’s not what was suggested in the slightest. Characters in this universe are clearly able to keep items with them and fight.
@@CinePals What do you realistically expect? To start disassembling a saber and get the crystals?
Inside the story wouldn’t make sense, even if it takes 5 seconds, priority is the fight, as a show wouldn’t make sense, would be bad tv, you complained about looking at “Osha’s perspective or other stuff and not the fight” but you wanna watch tech support???
@@ozeramo just put it in your pocket like a glow stick? 🤣
@@CinePals But you realized you complained when we didn’t saw the fight? “Why are we watching Osha’s perspective” sooo…
And do you realize, the main goal is help on the fight? If they win they can pick them up later, if they lose… well wasting time on picking stuff didn’t help huh?
@@CinePalsOkay, but your comment about them being rare wasn’t really accurate. In this age, a trip to Ilum to find yourself a crystal is basically like a trip to Disneyland for Padawans. A very important trip mind you, but they aren’t in the slightest rare lmao.
Manny Jacinto's the bomb. I wanted more Jecki after that. Really enjoyed the episode. However . . . Sol really isn't going to notice the tattoo or can't sense it's the wrong twin (or can't smell burnt hair?) Agggghh, the writing on this show is still so unnecessarily subpar. Also, when Qimir floated down after escaping the insects, they played Kylo Ren's theme which was an interesting choice. One thing I haven't seen/heard is maybe Qimir is a Knights of Ren type instead of part of the Sith duality usually wandering around. This could side step the problem with the fact Darth Tenebrous is supposed to be the Sith of this era.
The knights of Ren weren't a thing until Kylo REN himself..
@@TwistedReality13 The Knights existed before Kylo. "Ren" was the title of the Knights' leader and they also had a special light saber called "The Ren" that Kylo didn't bother with once he took over. I'm not super immersed in lore, but Wookiepedia has some info about this. So, my theory is if The Stranger isn't part of the Sith duality, maybe we're looking at an embryonic stage of the Knights, or at least whoever started the Knights.
Cortosis is a long running Star Wars universe metal that resists lightsabers. It was cool to see it used here.
Why am I just figuring out that the way Qimir said "You don't remember me" to Sol wasn't a question, but a statement of fact? Sol got brainwashed too.
There is no way Sol doesn't recognize May..
Never underestimate a Jedi,especially a Master Jedi.
I think he knows, but is going along with the charade. Sol is not whom he says he is.
Disney..
He definitely will in the future, but keep in mind that he just watched his apprentice and friends die. In addition, he's still struggling with whatever is making him feel guilty. He's definitely not in his right mind right now, and it would make sense if "Osha" was acting a little strange after "killing her sister."
@@VykeKing are u stupid?
they didn’t catch or pay attention to anything besides the fights 😂
"I have no name, but there are some that call me...Tim." Name the movie reference.
lol no piece of storytelling would stay on the fight the entire time. I don't really understand why the reactors can't think about pacing.
Plus, him screaming at Sol for not rushing in right before Yord died? I feel like some people watch these things like it's a video game where the characters should be min/maxed. Sol had tossed his saber down, was catching his breath, and Yord's attack was a surprise. I don't think it's a reach that he wouldn't be ready to jump in.
Right? The nitpicking here is absurd, even for the nitpicking standards people have already set for this show
“Oh i can’t kill a sith”
Bro….Is in your jedi employment contract. Wtf.
14:08 Yep that happens with several Telly Shows & is good way to keep the suspense till end credits 🙂 Please Basil stay safe when you're planning the right moment to inform Master Sol.. Even i think that Sol already noticed her being Mae when he got up 🙂 I hope he checks her on time so Mae can't kill him with a surprise Lightsaber ignition 🤞
I hope Basil is able to telegraph the problem to Sol. Yord is the one who could speaks to him.
@@marshsundeen Oh i sorta forgot that Yord was the 'translator' for the group. Yeah Telegraph or hand signs 😁 If Sol didn't notice already & decide to take a chance even without checking Mae for weapons 🤔
Disney was right when they say star wars fan destroy star wars
they could even hate this episode fight scene when its so good
exactly
All flash and cool fight scene's means shit all if the story is bad.
So star wars fans are fine, people with rose tinted glasses are the problem
"Did we not have a budget for a fight"... show proceeds to show you some of the best fight choreography in Star Wars live action history.
Patience padawan, patience!
This can be seen from his battle scenes or from what Yord said or Jeckie demonstrated during his fight.
The Jedi of this period may be called masters and padawans, but their experience of sabre combat is still in its infancy, and technique evolves with time and experience.
Unfortunately for the Jedi, this period is the most peaceful it's ever been, and they're only as powerful as they are because they've never had an opponent to threaten them.
We're a long, long way from Obi-wan vs Anakin...
Correct. Is the exact Midway intern between the end of the sith Wars and the beginning of the Clone Wars. Would argue even the Clone Wars never saw this type of action because again they were not prepared to go against armored force wielding Warriors that had similar philosophies. This fight actually made me really excited that when we eventually see the Old Republic and those Jedi sith Wars that we will actually see something I've been wanting to see go outside of Cannon which are large-scale lightsaber battles where both Jedi and sith are wearing armor and are using very lethal exotic kyber weapons to try to destroy each other just like jedkaichi epics like Ran.
dude even in Anakin era Jedi sucked
they got totally destroyed by storm troopers
let that sink in
pew pew
Why would you leave a Kyber crystal behind? To me (and what do I know?) it looks as though the top of the lightsaber has been destroyed, and, mostly likely, the Kyber crystal as well, or, if you wish to go down a more philosophical route, attachment to things is forbidden, and, in this case could probably get her killed...
Also Jecki had more pressing issues at the time.
Also Kyber crystals are rare but other then to the Jedi and Sith not that valuable.
i was refreshing for so long lol thanks for the reaction guys!~
also incase anyone hasnt answered yet Jaby, the metal of the helmet and the bracer is from EU and Legends stuff. it has immense energy absorption ability, and is even known to interrupt sabers and stop blaster shots. cool thing that immediately confirmed it is when he got shot at with the stun blaster was nullified. but the ability to stop Force powers isnt a previous thing. it might be that you need to look into their eyes but i would imagine it could definitely interrupt the force powers as well. using the force is pulling or pushing energy so i could see that. him having that really hammers home the idea that he is really well set off. i do wonder if he is purely dark side though because he healed her arm at the end there and covered her. to my understanding the Healing ability is a Light Side power, its possible he studied both light and dark sides of the force. also perked my ears up when he said "A Jedi like you would call me Sith" like ok he isnt calling himself a Sith, he is saying that a Jedi would see in black and white and call me a Sith because i use dark side powers. but its entirely possible he is something else. There is an Order from the SWTOR MMORPG called the Revanites who study the dark and light side and practice a balance. i could imagine him being someone who fell upon the information from Revan and has struck a balacne within himself. he says "i came to peace with my dark side" and that REALLY had me thinking he could be someone like Revan.
I LOVE Manny Jacinto. His portrayal of Qimir is so perfect, so great... Brutal, violent, but also swift movements, sarcastic, calm, all one after another. And he did most of the choreography on his own, even with his mask on.
And his lines... hit hard.
It is bad that the show is basically discarded by many because of the way the creators spoke of it. It was 'doomed' before release. I also thought it is going to be bad honestly, was surprised that I was interested and watched through it and now I think it is not the best SW show ever, but is solid enough and has great moments like this.
You might call me... Tim 😂
That's where my mind goes every time I see that scene because of the dramatic pause.
The hate is so forced lol, this was fucking amazing
It really is at this point. This episode gives fans a lot of what they were asking for, even Cortosis makes an appearance but people are doing their upmost to be upset about everything. Skyman was complaining about the bloody trees
@@DarkRaven40011 Exactly brother 🤷🏻♂️
star wars fans destroy star wars
at this rate the hate is getting real pathetic
they totally discredit the fight scene wtf
@@loucipher7782 You’re damn right, They hated George Lucas on the prequels so much that they are the reason he left, animated Ahsoka… the list just goes on and on
If you like it, that's fine. But just because you have lower standards doesn't mean others need to share it. Let me repeat: you are perfectly okay to enjoy what you enjoy. But just as you can't force someone to dislike something, you can't force someone to like it either. You shouldn't need to justify liking a show - the show should earn it by itself if it's done right.
Nobody will complain that Game of Thrones seasons 1-5 aren't good. You don't need people defending it. The show simply proves it's good.
No one will complain about True Detective season 1. You don't need people defending it. The show simply proves that it's good.
Again, you are 100% okay to like what you like. If the show, to you, is amazing - then more power to you.
This episode is definitely the most enjoyable episode so far. But it's still not perfect, and it's okay for people to react honestly with things that are jarring.
I think the mention of no methods is that he's not following the saber styles, just flailing and it's working since it's unorthodox
Did you pay attention to the music at the end where the master goes to osha and takes her away - we've heard it before
So with the info he was given in the meeting they thought it was a roguenjedi or a splinter order not a sith, so unless they get back to the temple and tell higher ups then his line still makes sense at least for now😊
Headlin was like "im doing one time ao im killing errbody!" Lmao!!
Did bro just say "making those are very difficult"

C'mon lets cut the poor bastard some slack, Sol was in shock he just saw his entire squad get wiped out like nothing
That Metal is call Cortosis
"The material is called cortosis. It's very rare- I've heard stories about it, but never seen any. It's rumored to have unusually high energy absorption and transmission coefficients, to the point where many energy weapon blasts will be dissipated along the fibers without damaging the fibers themselves."
―Mitth'raw'nuruodo[2]
That material seems OP as hell. Imagine an entire suit made of it.
@@JB-sc1tg along with its properties to absorb the energy it is toxic to organics at least it was in the eu, it was mainly used in droids
@@JB-sc1tg It's from legends as well. And it is OP but that's why it's very rare.

Great fight but Mae was gonna SURRENDER last episode! WHAT HAPPENED?!?!
Mae's plans changed when she found out her master was on the planet. She knew he would kill them all, so instead of being taken prisoner by the jedi (who were getting slaughtered) she chose to run.
@@JB-sc1tg right and the Master was defeated, she ended up blasting Sol, pretend to be OSHA and then left with Sol. Why not surrender after the Master was defeated?
@KenFromchicago because the opportunity presented itself with her master out of the picture. Mae does not align with the jedi because she seems to know what they really did to her home. That's why in the very next scene, she tells Osha that the jedi brainwashed her.
@@KenFromchicago she was gonna turn herself spill the dirt on her master in exchange for Osha. But now they already know all about him, even his identity she had no leverage.
Her master showed up and slaughtered a bunch of Jedi. That's "what happened". Obviously she wants to run away while they are busy fighting, before he can kill her.
1.7k like. Very cool review guys.
Kyber crystals are formed not made. They make the saber; they find the crystal after it's formed on the planet Ilum.
Well not only Ilum, if u take a look on the old republic...There was even cave on Dantooine.
@@rosomak6900 didn’t say it was exclusive it’s just where the Jedi get their main stash.
We need to KNOW the characters before the fighting means anything to us! We weren't going to get this right off the bat!
You’re right. Feels like I knew them. And now they’re all gone.
Next ep mvp... Basil knows... Basil's nose.
this is the type of choreography we needed for the sequels, not the lightsaber bats we got.
i still think the show isn't that bad as people say and are waaay to defensive about it.
Bruh… it’s a murder mystery, reveals are suppose to take time 💀 you don't stop a movie halfway and complain about what they haven't revealed, and even less with a movie/show that's a murder mystery
Damn I used to love this channel, but the hate is really so forced, specially this episode
Murder mysteries done right lead less to frustration and more to fun/exciting discoveries and cliffhangers. This was the best episode in terms of action. The story telling I can’t say for sure until the season is complete. But it seems like forced suspense instead of it feeling natural.
@@CinePals I'm not frustrated at all, maybe it’s the need to find something to find and not just sit and enjoy what was frustrating, I’m not joking, for real, just sit and enjoy, you are trying so hard to find flaws, real criticism, cool, but the complains were crazy
You complained about the action during and at the end…
The storytelling has been so much fun, a love letter to star wars, not forced, feels natural and we have been discovering new stuff every episode, you don't like it? Fair, agree to disagree, but make it real complains, not something you are forcing
A murder mystery? it's either Mae who killed everyone or it's the Jedi's who slaughtered them or the witch queen girl. Either way it's terrible writing. If it's Mae who killed them, then that means a huge stone fortress caught on on fire from a single book and caused severe damage to the structure of a non flammable stone fortress and instantly killed everyone. If it's the Jedi's then that means Jedi's slaughtered a large group of unarmed planet dwellers all for some random girl named Osha who ends up leaving anyway. If it's the witch queen girl then it means she did a mind control on a Jedi and forced the Jedi to slaughter her people, the same community she was building for so long and then let the Jedi's walk away unharmed.
If you were eating shit and then ate a snickers right after, it doesn't negate the fact the first meal you had was shit. Same thing applies here, the first episodes are shit. Doesn't matter how good the last 3 episodes are, they still fed us shit.
I know you have hope for the series to be good, because I originally was hopeful too when i first heard of the timeline they were entering for the story. Unfortunately, it turned out to be not as great as we hoped.
@@sgtpepper819 lol “not a murder mystery but x or y or z did it” Buddy hahahaha there’s the mystery, you can say you don’t like it, good for you, but that’s literally a murder mystery 😂😂😂

Isn't it cool when we see a dark side user that actually knows what he's doing?
“A little bit of ED on the lightsabers” 😂😂😂
I think my biggest issue of the episode is that Sol and Osha seem to have a special connection and was her master for nearly 10 years or whatever while having spent nearly 0 time with Mae, but can't tell them apart.
But haircuts. And to be fair, he just had a gnarly battle. Surely his spidey senses will feel it later.
i know, twins right
i know some father who cant differentiate their twin daughters
i cant differentiate my twin friends too especially when they swap hairstyle and clothing
maybe they can be identified by their behavior but certainly take some time not at first glance
The helmet coming off doesn't necessarily lead to Sol being able to mind control Qimir. It's been mentioned things like the Force suggestions only work on the weak minded which probably won't work on a Sith and Osha specifically mentions that her mom could control minds so that leads me to believe that Qimir just doesn't want a Jedi probing into his mind for any secrets or details of what he knows and plans.
That ending was like Deadpool dying in Deadpool II
17:33 Except for Master Sol, almost a dozen Jedi have suddenly gone missing (MIA). If no one in the Jedi Council, including Vernestra, questions this, it creates an even bigger plot hole. Not to mention there's been no disturbance in the Force with all their deaths? Hopefully, they can address this in the remaining episodes.
There's a Trailer scene with Vernestra and her Light Whip on a forrest planet - presumably this one. I'm guessing she comes to investigate. But my guess is they can blame it all on Mae.
To be fair, it wasnt that hard to figure out who the Sith was, and what the Jedi did.
I agree w/Jaby, Sol does walk that line because of his emotionality and ties to the past. My prediction is Sol turns by the end of the season.
When I first saw Manny Jacinto in "Brand New Cherry Flavor" (Netflix Horror Show) I was hoping he'd get more roles, glad to see him in this
15:20 Yeeeeeeah we know but that not like there are no cut in the Darth Maul, Qui Gon and Obi Wan Fight !
Qimir with the sleeper build, they really hid his physique well. He doesn't look jacked in clothing at all
But it's an honour to witness those around you transforming into the force.
What this episode made me realize is they should've ditched the twins and focused on Daphne Keen's character.
Jecki was my favorite! 😫 And the sisters annoyed me SO MUCH this episode. 😤

I mean he’s the obvious reveal. Anyone could guess it’s him.
You guys, the nitpicking during the entire episode... come on. Painful watch.
I know, they should turn their brains off and watch 😉
All jokes aside, the fight scenes were cool.
This is two fold. There has been frustration particularly from me over the last two episodes. Achara has been feeling some of that frustration but favoring positivity in her response. So there was a sense of being ready to be frustrated. Our reactions shown are happening in real time and are honest for both the positive and the negative. You have already seen in it and know what’s to come. You’re seeing us discover it. And we complimented this episode. If you skip the discussion you miss more of us breaking down our feelings on this.
@@CinePals The frustration is justified honestly, they gave us nothing for the first 4 episodes. The only thing it had going for it was the action scenes, the rest doesn't even feel like a normal dialogue, especially whenever the two sisters are talking to each other, it's just cringe to watch that interaction. Their actions are way too chaotic and not paced right, going from lovey dovey two is one, to ima kill ya sis.
I personally was watching for the commentary just so I can confirm im not crazy and that my perspective on the show is justified. I had a similar reaction to the Dune movies, being too long and all visuals and way less storytelling than i was expecting. There was a huge mix of opinions on that one too, praising the movies to being god tier. The Acolyte I noticed less of a mix tho and seems more leaning towards terrible in general from everything ive witnessed so far and reviews.
Honestly tho what do you see in this show? I'm genuinely curious because i've only witnessed negative feedback about the show from majority of the channels ive checked out. Seems like the audience is leaning towards disliking the show. So, i am curious what are some positive things you have to say about it.
If you never seen the show, keep in mind the videos are edited so you don't see everything that takes place in the episodes.(not that ur missing much anyway, just it could potentially give you a different perspective if you have).
This episode was definitely the best one so far, the fights were amazing
Well.. we're in the middle of battle and mind reading takes some concentration. We can't risk multitasking here. That's how I would explain not reading Qimir's mind. When Sol asked Qimir to show his face Qimir responded, "and let you read my thoughts?". "Let you" being key, implying he has to comply in order for someone to read his mind.
The choreography: incredible
The ending: sh-
Man you guys are just hating for the sake of hating
I feel like qimir, the only person to know the difference between Osha and meg
Lets bet the guilt Sol feels is of a similar sort like we saw Yoda, Obi-Wan and Luke experience- not having been able to prevent something bad from happening or having done something that set of bad things in motion.
This is the kind of star wars we want!!!
From "I love you" to "I'm going to kill you" in few minutes. From "I'm the bad girl and I kill Jedi" to "I'm good now and don't want to kill Jedi" without any build up. From "I'm gonna turn myself in" to "I'm gonna fight them and not turn myself in" in few minutes. From "I'm evil smilo-ren and I will kill the one who betrayed me" to "I will make sure you're warm and cover you while you unconscious". Make it make sense. At least they are killing off the most idiotic group of Jedi I have ever seen. :)
She never said she was good. She never said she was bad. She's been trying to save her own ass for the last two episodes.
